Yes it’s not much in the scheme of things but I’m becoming increasingly annoyed by men in public (I’m sure women do these things too but 90% of the time it’s men in my experience).

Only today I was paying at the self service in Tesco, had the baby (in pram) and 4 year old with me. 6 checkouts, every other checkout was free. The second I tapped my card this man barged between me and the checkout I had used and started scanning his shopping, leaving me flustered as I gathered up my shopping and tried to pack it away while moving the pram and my other child away. The way it happened he’d clearly been waiting to do it, although why I have no idea.

Second occasion we were stood in another shop, a very big tall man comes round the corner of the aisle and rather than wait the split second for me to pull DD towards me so he could pass (was already doing this) he barged past her and almost knocked her over shouting ‘SORRY, SORRY’.

Gah. Yes it all sounds a bit petty written out but I’ve got PMT and have had a few of these incidences lately and am fed up.

Oh God, way too many to count. But I was proud of this one.

My then 16 year old daughter phoned me in tears from the bus she was on, the driver had been unnecessarily nasty to her over a fare misunderstanding and embarrassed her in front of a busy queue. I picked her up after she'd got off, drove after the bus, got ahead of him and parked. Stopped him at the nearest stop, got on and sweetly asked if he had cameras on board. When he said yes I said, loud enough for the whole bus to hear, 'good, because that was my daughter you bullied at the start of your route and I'll be on to your company first thing in the morning.'

Fucking sad middle aged cunt, bullying a wee lassie.

Another man bashing post! Women are dicks too!

rainbowbee · 19/02/2024 20:03

I think there is very much something in the fact that we are the only first/second generation that don't 'need' men. Also now it's fine to be a lesbian or a single mum or just single. And that looking after your own bank account, buying a vibrator and not ever cleaning a toilet after a man is a valid choice. Education around consent, pleasure and abusive behaviour is better. Financial literacy is better. Gender 'roles' less dictated. This gets more positive again with gen x kids (look at the tik tok trend- 'how hard can it be- boys do it ). The men are realising that they'll have to actually be decent humans to attract/keep a woman. That makes the crappy ones feel irrelevant. As the crappy ones haven't learnt to deal with complicated feelings, they act it out in rage behaviour, like toddlers.

Also- what is with the height thing?! I am 5'4.5" (measured medically) and eye-line to a guy at work who says he's 5'10".

Why don't you start a thread called 'annoyed by random woman incidents' if you're that arsed?

This in spades.

It's like that bit from one of Mickey Flanagan's stand up specials, where he says something along the lines of his dad thought he was being a great help when he would close the cupboard door after himself and would announce it like something to be proud of.

A few generations ago men had to go out to work and...that's it. That's all it took to be considered a good man, husband and father. Times have changed, the world has changed, women's roles have changed, and men are struggling to accept it.

When my sister was going through her divorce, my grandad asked her if her husband beat her, or cheated on her, or gambled away all their money. When she answered "no" to all three questions, his response was "well what's the problem then?" What indeed.

I've took to saying "oh sorry I forgot it's men before ladies these days."
Haven't yet had the reply "where are the the ladies then?" But I'm sure I will soon.
But I have to say a man held a door open for me today and that really doesn't happen often any more first time in absolutely ages.

Walking down the street today with my 3year old and baby in pram. 5 men walking side by side towards me. Not one of them moved to let me by

And what did you do?

User128739933 · 19/02/2024 20:25

The squeaky mouse 4 ft 9 silly fuck who was rude to me also got shit posted about him all over him workplace Instagram page detailing how rude he was to me when he was supposed to be doing his pathetic sorry excuse for a job. Hope they've sacked the dumb little fucker.

AHobbyaweek · 19/02/2024 20:35

Had similar this week at a hotel pool. I was chilling in a corner and two kids and a man were throwing a ball between each other from each end of the swimming pool.
I asked the children a couple times to move down a bit as the ball kept landing and splashing. Next I know the ball lands right next to me from the man throwing so I hold it and ask nicely that they move further down the pool rather than throw it the whole length.
I get a mouthful of abuse about them being kids and how I touch HIS ball in HIS pool Hmm.
I just stared at him with an unimpressed face. Handed the ball to the embarrassed looking child while he stormed out. He came back after they got changed to try to yell again but my unimpressed silent face made him get annoyed and storm off again.

Yes, but today we're talking about men.

I'll have to think about examples when I've encountered women who've behaved just as badly.

I may be some time 🤔

Neighbour who decided that as a single parent I should be responsible for someone near his garden on the road behind keeping him up (our gardens were diagonal). He stormed over at 1am and rang my bell for 30mins, ranting about how if he couldn't sleep neither would I. I spoke through the doorbell, confirmed I would not be opening the door, had no idea about the noise and was calling the police. He clearly hadn't encountered a camera bell before and when the PCO went over to warn him about harassing behaviour seemed very shocked there was a 30min video of him being an aggressive knob in my porch. He was a Headmaster before he retired too!

The driving ones happen every time I get in my car. I always check my speed and it's not me going too slow or my error, they are just angry men being shits. I am finding myself increasingly tempted to break suddenly when they tailgate but always think how much of a faff the waiting for their insurance to pay out would be, if they have any!

Userxyd · 19/02/2024 21:39

Men just need to evolve! All these incels in their bedroom hating women and girls blaming them whilst they stay fat and pasty with no social skills.
Think how women's lives, values, responsibilities have changed in the last 100/50 years- it's mens turn now!
Humans are designed to progress, adapt, improve- too many men are just stuck in the past and holding us all back.
Men need to man up!!

BronwenTheBrave · 19/02/2024 21:46

Men are such vile creatures.

Notmollybutdolly · 19/02/2024 21:53

In the steam room last week - one guy LAY FACE DOWN whilst his mate sat on the Banch next to the door with his big hairy feet crossing the door space?!! Then proceeded to sit and talk about the food they’d eaten recently which had given them diareeah.

ahoyhoyhoy · 19/02/2024 21:57

A man cut me off on a roundabout, I was in the left hand lane going left, he was in the right hand (third!) lane and sped up to overtake me, he was shouting out of his window until we both happened to stop at the same petrol station. He opened his door still shouting but walked off with his tail between his legs when I opened my door and said ‘I beg your fucking pardon? Never used a roundabout before?’

When I was a teen I did the man barging experiment and got a very bruised shoulder. It made me realise just how often I moved out of the way for men for absolutely no reason.

Sharontheodopolodous · 19/02/2024 21:59

In aldi, just after lockdown I'd gone to stand in the queue

Dp had wondered off to find his corned beef as he'd forgotten to pick it up

I joined the end of the queue and when the belt became free,I started to unload our shopping

An older bloke came out of nowhere, and started screaming and jabbing his finger at me

I'd pushed in apparently-I bloody hadn't,he wasn't in the queue when I joined it

His face when dp appeared and asked what the hell was happening

The bloke shuffled off-it was clear he thought I was on my own so fair game

Another time I was waiting on the self serve in tesco

I was the only one waiting, one became free so I moved forward

I'd just scanned my hair grips when another bloke came out of nowhere and shouted at me for taking 'his' till

Thankfully a female tesco staff member came forward to show him another free till but he started on her before dumping his basket and walking away

The amount of men that have a go at me at work for something beyond my control is staggering

I always shout for a male manager and watch them shrink and be polite to him but I'm fair game as I'm female

It pisses me off-it's like they cant control their hatred of women

Ch4ng3dn4m3 · 19/02/2024 22:00

I was swimming with my daughter at center parcs and there were a group of adults in their mid 20s. I assume I must have got in their way as one of the men picked me up by my waist and moved me to the side. I still can't believe it happened.

Why can't people spell brake correctly?

makeupme · 19/02/2024 22:04

There seems to be something about single lane traffic when the cars are parked on their side they hate too. Amount of times I continue driving and they pull out in front of me, as soon as they see it is a woman, just to do some sort of face-off. I always stop and gesture for them to reverse, mouthing MY RIGHT OF WAY and pointing at the cars. They really really hate that Grin

I had one particularly memorable instance when I was walking down a wide path and a male runner was running towards me and starting yelling at me to move. I did not and he smacked straight into my chest. Unfortunately for him I'm built like a brick shithouse and he practically bounced off and had to step off the path while I carried on my way Grin

This is hilarious - the image has me laughing out loud 😂

Happens fairly regularly to me too. Yesterday took the kids to an attraction, we're standing in the queue for our time slot and some random man tries to barge past me to get to the ticket person faster. WHY do they do this sort of shit? Also the gym I've only ever had men come up to me to comment in the middle of sets, or interrupt to 'ask' how long I'll be whilst lurking slightly too close to me. Obviously I take longer when this happens Grin

YES! I don't think I've ever had a woman hover over me at the gym to ask how long I'll be. Men do it nearly every time I go. Cunts.
