How hideous are these trainers really, in your opinion?

My partner isn't normally the least bit concerned about what I wear but really truly despises these trainers, will ask me not to wear them, says they're hideous!🤣
I don't think they're so bad? I'm not really someone who wears trainers unless I'm at the gym but I do occasionally put these on to just nip to the shop or such. DP is seriously offended by them!

YABU - they're absolutely ghastly
YANBU- they're okay, ignore DP.

I'd wear them for gardening

BeachBeerBbq · 18/02/2024 12:45

They REALLY need a wash.... They look proper old and used and unkept which can be combo of design and dirt...

Cherrysoup · 18/02/2024 12:45

They’re fine, but fake leather/shiny trousers are worse (imo).

RatatouillePie · 18/02/2024 12:46

LOVE the trainers!

(not too keen on the trousers though - reminds me of the Friends episode with Ross in the bathroom)

Loafbeginsat60 · 18/02/2024 12:47

Wow they are truly awful - and need to be binned

Anjea · 18/02/2024 12:47

They're a bit tatty. Is that what he means?

Anjea · 18/02/2024 12:48

Side view is worse. They're knackered. I'd bin them.

OneTC · 18/02/2024 12:53

They're be alright if they didn't look like you found them in a bin.

NuffSaidSam · 18/02/2024 12:54

I think that actual trainer is fine. I like the colour! But they are too scruffy/dirty to be worn for anything other than gardening. Maybe with a wash they'd be ok.

SunflowerSeeds123 · 18/02/2024 12:58

Not my style, and certainly not with those trews, but you do you. It's not for me to police what other people wear. I'm hardly the most stylish myself.

apwlgamgo · 18/02/2024 13:00

Are they the ones that are designed to look "unkempt" before they've even been worn?

GalileoHumpkins · 18/02/2024 13:01

I love coloured trainers but those aren't great. As an outfit overall the shoes, socks and trousers are pretty bad.

newbie202020 · 18/02/2024 13:05

Pop them in the washing machine, they'll be fine!

Riapia · 18/02/2024 13:06

Very.

JaneLawrence · 18/02/2024 13:07

They’re not to my taste, but I’d not be bothered about someone else wearing them.

Although from the side view I’d say that they do need to be cleaned.

Dogfisher · 18/02/2024 13:07

They are horrible OP...but not as bad as the plastic trousers!

Fionaville · 18/02/2024 13:09

I'm with your DH. I practically live in trainers, but I've got different ones for different needs. Bright trainers like them are to wear with work out clothes. I definitely wouldn't pair them with those trousers. Sorry to be harsh, but they looked wrecked and dirty too. I'd have either washed them, binned them or put them to use as DIY/gardening shoes by this point.

Kitkat1523 · 18/02/2024 13:10

They are fine for a dog walk….not for anything else

TanteRose · 18/02/2024 13:11

GoosieLucie · 18/02/2024 12:30

I'm getting deja vu from this. I feel sure I've seen this post before, with the same photo.

Am I imagining things or does anyone else remember? It was either last year or maybe the year before.

Yes! Definitely seen these bacon trainers before!

Side view! Please ignore dirty carpet, we're cleaning out a house at the moment, not at home!

Thank you for all opinions so far, going to show DP the thread 🤣
Yes I'd never wear them for anything other than casually but I don't usually anyway. I like quite gaudy, bright things.

I'm intrigued about them not going with the trousers as they're black? But must be the style. I'd usually wear these trousers with heels to go out somewhere in fairness I just thew them on this morning.

They are filthy! 🤮

They might look better if you washed them.

Scalottia · 18/02/2024 13:20

Galeforcewindatmywindow · 18/02/2024 12:20

Tbh I would more be questioning the trousers....

Yep. The trainers are fine, but those trousers, sorry OP but they don't look good on anyone!

Pruntysisters · 18/02/2024 13:23

Trainers 👍leggings 👎

soupfiend · 18/02/2024 13:26

I need more pictures but on first glance, hideous and the trousers arent much better but combined they are double hideous

I often have to tell my OH what to wear unfortuanately, he has terrible taste

Ok, now Ive seen this, they could probably look good in some circumstances.

See the thread about ugly fashion. You are probably young and attractive and in which case you can carry it off

Are they dirty because you bought them like that? Ive seen some where the dirty ingrained filth is a 'look'

I dont like them however, not my cup of tea but then I wouldnt be able to carry it off

However the trousers are really naff.

Disasterclass · 18/02/2024 13:30

They're fine for running/ exercising. My trainers are always a bit mucky from running but since they're only for that it doesn't matter.

Personally I'd keep them for exercise only - I think it's the contrast to the trousers which definitely aren't for exercising in which is the problem
