to think 30 pairs of jeans is a bit much?

Coffee with a couple of friends today, I have lost a bit of weight recently and was saying that my jeans don't fit me any more, so I was going to buy two new pairs. One friend pipes up "only two?" and I sad that yes, a couple of the not really fitting pairs are fine for round the house, and it's almost summer and that I have leggings, other trousers, dresses etc. And two pairs of jeans is plenty - one to wear, one in the wash.

Friend horrified. She has 30 pairs of jeans (at least) and can't understand why anyone wouldn't want multiples in every colour, every cut, regular jeans, going out jeans, posh jeans, cheap jeans.

Anyone want to admit to more than 30 pairs??

I don’t own a single pair of jeans. Find them the most uncomfortable clothing ever!

That's more than the total number of 'bottoms' I have including jeans that fit, jeans that are currently too small, work trousers, leggings, joggers, shorts, light summer trousers and pyjama bottoms.

I'm with you, Bintastic.. I've had an insane amount of clothes in the past. But many I bought straight out of rag bags from charity shops I ran, and gave more money per item than the entire bag was worth in weight to the rag man. I see this as environmentally friendly. (and more money for my charity, eh?!)
I also bought a lot of new stuff. Way too much, I was depressed re infertility
and for some years was overspending.. I've kerbed this now and wear old clothes out and have hardly bought any for the last few years...(I've moved to a teeny weeny cottage anyway, about 30 sq m so donated about two thirds of my stuff)
But hey ho.. I don't have kids and never will.. hate being preached to, I have friends who live fairly minimally possession wise yet and made digs at me have 5, 6, 7 kids and several cars to one household... what if their kids go on to have big families.. who has the bigger carbon footprint? Certainly I doubt it's me despite having the rammed wardrobe, drawers and loft as I once did... I've stopped flying abroad too but not really relevant here.. also work for a company I partly chose because they are big on
sustainability... but I get mocked on here and have done in real life for
the amount of clothing. As much is from charity shops and goes back to them... I don't see this as a bad thing

I probably have about 15 pairs, but this is more because I have different sizes rather than different styles

I have my 'fat' jeans, my 'skinny' jeans and a size in between
