to think 30 pairs of jeans is a bit much?

Coffee with a couple of friends today, I have lost a bit of weight recently and was saying that my jeans don't fit me any more, so I was going to buy two new pairs. One friend pipes up "only two?" and I sad that yes, a couple of the not really fitting pairs are fine for round the house, and it's almost summer and that I have leggings, other trousers, dresses etc. And two pairs of jeans is plenty - one to wear, one in the wash.

Friend horrified. She has 30 pairs of jeans (at least) and can't understand why anyone wouldn't want multiples in every colour, every cut, regular jeans, going out jeans, posh jeans, cheap jeans.

Anyone want to admit to more than 30 pairs??

I think I must have nearly 30 pairs and I hardly wear jeans 😅 light blue, dark blue, black, skinny fit, baggy fit, etc… but then again I own 40-50 pairs of pj’s so probably shouldn’t take my advice 🤣

I have quite a large bedroom and I have a built in wardrobe literally from one side all the way to the other! 😂

I don't wear jeans. If I added up everything I wear on my bottom half (leggings, trackies, tights, one single pair of jeans, gym shorts) I'm probably not far off 30 items. If they're all serving different purposes I can see how you'd get to 30!

How do you all find jeans that fit properly! I need some new ones but am putting it off as it's just a mission although I'm going to the Trafford centre tomorrow so might try some on if I have the energy.

@hby9628 I am quite tall and slim, the only jeans that fit me properly for skinny fit is river island, more baggy style jeans I normally get from new look

As an aside, I think I have about 8 pairs but I wear them every day and have put holes in the knees of my faves

7 or 8 - all different styles/colours. Surely no need for much more than that? And yes, unless you have an enormous wardrobe, where do they all go? I have been the same size since a teenager which helps as I don’t have to have fat and thin pairs, so I suppose that makes it easier than someone whose weight changes.

My husband has more than 30 pairs!!! It’s insane, no one needs that many. 10 would be the maximum reasonable number - but each to their own I suppose.

He loves eBay and buys them (Levi’s, Lee Coopers) then tries them on at home and if they don’t fit they go In the drawers. I’ve only just managed to flog a load of them on eBay but there’s still definitely over 30.

I on the other hand, have one old pair that I’ve developed a hole in today (I like to call it nappy knee!!) I have a pair of dungarees and then 3 pairs of leggings. I’m waiting for my body to settle down after my last pregnancy then I’ll attempt to find some jeans that I like! And I think I’ll have some nice ones for going out the house and maybe I’ll actually go through DH’s stash and use his round the house. I’m sure his would withstand multiple nappy changes to better than ladies denim!!

@AutismMum21 I'll have a look. I'm a 12/14 depending on the fit but I have skinny knees and hate it when the jeans bag during wear so I often buy jeans thinking they are okay then hate them after one wear!

The only items I have more than 10 of are socks and pants. I thought I was normal.

Everyone is differently shaped and I'm very much an advocate of trying on lots of different brands and styles to find what fits you best. I don't think either that it necessarily follows that expensive jeans will fit better than cheap ones.

At the moment, the Lily jeans from M&S fit me the best. Enjoy shopping but don't be buying 30 pairs...

I like to have maybe two or three pairs of nicely fitting jeans at any one time. Inevitably there are a few pairs that aren’t quite right as well, or have gone to holes, but they don’t count.

Has she kept all the ones she’s had all her life? (Devils advocate here!). I have two. And ones that I hate. (Have put on weight and can’t find bootcut jeans any more)

I have more than 10 tops all put together if you count t-shirts, going out tops, shirts, hoodies, jumpers etc. But not more than 10 hoodies, more than 10 jumpers etc etc.

Omg 30 pairs of jeans!! I hate shopping so wear jeans until they aren't acceptable for normal wear, then they relegated to jeans for the stables. I have 4 decent pairs on the go, 2 pairs for the stables and 1 pair I can't fit into but may one day (ha!) I think that's about right. For me 2 wouldn't be enough, but 30 is madness!

Yes, I have more than 10 tops altogether eg 4 hoodies, 5 vests, 5 t-shirts, 3 best tops. I was thinking of them separately.

I thought I was bad having about 16 pairs!

I think I have about 9 pairs including one black and one off white. I pretty much wear jeans everyday and I do actually think 9 is more than I really need, because I do worry about the environmental impact. I can’t imagine having 30 and them being sufficiently different to be worth owning.
