Threatening Amazon email?

I’ve been a loyal Amazon customer for years. Over the last 6 months I’ve had to report a number of missing parcels
as they keep being left on my doorstep which is on a the main road and not a safe place. Most parcels just get lifted round here as there are a lot of opportunistic thefts. I’ve updated Amazon on this so many times asking them to ensure they are not left on my
doorstep, but it still happens.
Following the latest missing parcel I received this today which reads as pretty threatening and as though I’m at fault? What should I reply? If anything? Or am I being unreasonable and just ignore?

I shouldn’t be penalised for their drivers ignoring my safe place and leaving it on my unsafe doorstep in full view of people driving by who lift

@Atlasstars1 you need to make a complaint (you can do it through 'wheres' my stuff if the delivery is from Amazon itself). when you get through ask to have it escalated to a manager/senior person/team leader whatever they call it

I had a problem with items being left at the wrong place. Eventually (after lots of complaints from me) I got put through to someone who said they would send me a link to reply to with the exact cooridinates of the location for parcels to be left - you can get them very precisely through what three words. It solved the problem but honestly it took so SO many missed deliveries and complaints to get to this point and it was only because I was so fed up that I insisted on speaking to someone 'senior' - no idea what their actual job title was - but it took being connected to about 5 people before I found an actual person with power !

May not work for you if your issue is actually that you aren't in as opposed to them not finding it but posting this for anyone reading who has the wrong place totally issue.

If they'd told me at the start they have power to store exact cooridnates for your address I'd have had much less hassle.

You aren’t entitled to Amazon deliveries or an account. If they decide you aren’t worth the effort / sales that’s the end of it.

For goodness' sakes OP you're getting extremely het up over an autogenerated email that's not even signed by a real person.
Reply back, stating what you've told us about the safe place and send proof. job done.
No need for all this angst.

Don’t think you have any right to tell me how to feel 🤷‍♀️I’m annoyed for reasons many people on this thread have understood and relate too. For what it’s worth even if it had been signed by a “real person” I would feel the same!

How many parcels have gone missing?

I often use a delivery locker or shop - even if I'm in.

In honesty - we all pay for your stolen items and I'm glad Amazon are saying 'no'

SisterMichaelsHabit · 07/02/2024 19:05

You're not listening to people. Amazon has BOATLOADS of delivery options. My address was once deemed undeliverable by them due to being in such a dodgy area. I just had to stop shopping with them until I moved. This was before all the modern options.
Post Office
Local Corner Shop
Amazon Locker
Alternative address inputted as the main delivery address.
Hell when I lived in Ireland I got things delivered to a Post Office in Northern Ireland to receive them several days quicker and I drove to pick parcels up.
You cannot POSSIBLY be in a dodgy high-theft (built up) area that doesn't have ONE of these things. 🤔

Atlasstars1 · 07/02/2024 15:43

Yes my alternative delivery option is my neighbour but their drivers seem to ignore this 🤷‍♀️

I've had this. I don't shop with Amazon, but sadly other retailers use Amazon delivery. Things left on doorstep despite clear instructions to leave with neighbour....who was at home.

I’d love you to pay for my stolen goods- sadly you aren’t!

Have you replied back, showing proof of their drivers not following Amazon's instructions?

I would be interested in their response to that.

Omg- there isn’t an option with Amazon to say “deliver at 3pm on Friday!”

and threatening doesn’t mean leg breaking unless you’re in the mob 😂🙄they are clearly threatening to close my account because their drivers are ignoring my clearly marked request not to leave parcels on a Main Street doorstep, and offering a safe alternative option as offered by…Amazon!

There is an option to say deliver on a Friday though.

Put a note on your actual front door to leave with neighbour at number X?

That would show that the house was empty; not wise.

Marchitectmummy · 07/02/2024 19:10

Companies, even Amazon can not shoulder comstant losses of their items through theft.

Maybe you need to be more creative with how you order / receive things. Pretty sure you wouldn't be so accepting of theft if you weren't reimbursed.

What would your solution be for receiving items if you didn't keep getting reimbursed? Is there a day you are always at home or can you get it delivered straight to your neighbour if you are at home so infrequently. Whatever would work if you had to stomach the loss is your solution to ordering from Amazon or any company.

Eightfour · 07/02/2024 19:11

I get that it’s annoying and I agree they should provide the service they are offering but I agree with others you aren’t going to win an argument against Amazon on principle.

They do not have to sell to you and so if you want to keep your account start using their alternative delivery options like the lockers.

I also think your attitude towards some responses hasn’t helped this thread either and yes other Amazon customers are all paying for the stolen items through price rises etc.

Think they'll figure it out when they ring the bell and no one answers the door...

LlynTegid · 07/02/2024 19:13

How many of the things you buy could be bought locally from somewhere and have click and collect?

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 07/02/2024 19:13

I got the same email just after Christmas as they left parcels on my doorstep (I also live on a main road) and had to refund me on three seperate occasions, they wouldn't resend the parcels. I spoke to customer services and told them not to leave them on the doorstep and updated my safe place also my next door neighbours and they still don't care!

I had a parcel delivered yesterday and they still dumped it on the door step, they didn't knock the door as I was working from home and I only realised it had been delivered until I put some rubbish out.

JCLV · 07/02/2024 19:14

Amazon don’t even bother knocking at my door. They prop the parcel on the doorstep and seem to creep away. It is annoying that they can’t follow a simple direction when you have made an effort to give one.

I'm sorry, I meant to people other than the delivery person........thought that was implied.

Kwam31 · 07/02/2024 19:19

Ffs, just send to a locker, there's plenty about.

It was implied, but you missed the point that a burglar can make up an excuse to knock on your door.

hopscotcher · 07/02/2024 19:29

Doesn't read as particularly threatening, or personal, to me. There are probably loads of people trying to scam them, so it's a safeguard against that.

MadisonAvenue · 07/02/2024 19:34

DragonFly98 · 07/02/2024 19:09

There is an option to say deliver on a Friday though.

I’ve got Monday selected as my Amazon Day but if I select that it gets ignored and the delivery arrives a day or two before.

Agapornis · 07/02/2024 19:35

They've got really shit round here too - scary loud knocking like they're the police breaking down the door, dumping it on the doorstep, then driving away without waiting.
It's clearly an automatic email. I'd reply with the Ring footage of the drivers and thieves.
