To not vote Labour because of their abhorrent views on the female sex?

Lion400 · 05/02/2024 18:43

Starmer cannot represent women, he can’t even define us. Questioning a trans person is a hate crime, but misogyny is not. Sorry Labour, you’ve lost my vote. Have they lost anyone else’s??

‘On trans ideology, the vast majority of voters, and certainly a majority of traditional Labour voters from working class backgrounds, tend to cast a sceptical eye on the tenets of an ideological movement that asserts that biological men must be accepted as women – and be offered similar rights and access to women’s spaces and sports as women – simply by asserting their new status’

Transgender ideology has created the biggest medical scandal of our generation

Vulnerable young people who transitioned before they were ready are paying a high price for this disastrous project

It’s why I won’t vote for them.

ButtCheeks · 05/02/2024 18:45

Yep. Have been wondering who the fuck am I supposed to vote for?

Cazpar · 05/02/2024 18:46

Why are you posting an article from August last year in order to dredge up and rehash a topic that's been done to death, reanimated and done to death again ad infinitum on here?

Mumoftwo1312 · 05/02/2024 18:47

I agree with you on this particular point but even if I didn't, you are never unreasonable to vote for a party based on a single issue. If we didn't have single issue voters, then lots of particular issues wouldn't get addressed. Single issue voters are how we hold the government to account on various things, imo.

OpalOrchid · 05/02/2024 18:48

That's nice dear. You vote Tory then. See where that gets you.

Edited

‘Done to death’ ? It is not an issue to talk about then forget about. It’s something that affects every woman in this country if Labour get in. There are many articles and there will be more to come.

Caerulea · 05/02/2024 18:50

Yeah I've got no one to vote for this time round.

11NigelTufnel · 05/02/2024 18:50

You can vote for whoever you like as long as they are standing in your area. That's why it's called a democracy (ignore the house of lords on that point). If you don't agree with the main parties you can set up your own one too. I'll be voting for the party that are most likely to oust the conservatives in my area.

GreyCarpet · 05/02/2024 18:52

Same, OP.

I'm one of the politically homeless. I've always voted Labour but I just can't bring myself to do it anymore.

The Lib Dems have said they don't want women who don't believe TWAW to vote for them. The Women's Equality Party (WEP) have said the same. Actually said that they don't want my vote

Labour cancelled the membership of 100s or women who called/wrote to them seking clarification or expressing concern.

Exactly who are we supposed to vote for?

Icepop79 · 05/02/2024 18:52

Don’t think for a moment that the Tories give 2 hoots about women’s rights. The rampant misogyny of the right will never go away.

I’ll take my chances with Labour. At least they have some respect for humanity.

NashvilleQueen · 05/02/2024 18:53

Have you ever voted Labour before?

TheShellBeach · 05/02/2024 18:53

I have no idea who I can possibly vote for now.

Crackoncrackerjack · 05/02/2024 18:53

You really think the tories give a fuck ? See Rishi’s comments

Summerhillsquare · 05/02/2024 18:53

The tories are no friends to women.

WellThisIsFun1 · 05/02/2024 18:54

Don't vote for Labour if that's what you want.

Do enjoy your next Tory government....

devildeepbluesea · 05/02/2024 18:54

What @Icepop79 said. Yes Labour are a shit show on this topic but I’m under no illusions that the Tories are the friends of women.

Lion400 · 05/02/2024 18:54

NashvilleQueen · 05/02/2024 18:53

Have you ever voted Labour before?

I’ve only ever voted Labour before. They’ve lost me on this one.

OP posts:
Minion21 · 05/02/2024 18:54

They lost my vote too for this reason.

GreyCarpet · 05/02/2024 18:56

I'm not sure why so many people are jumping on Tories are no friend to women. The OP hasn't said she will vote Tory. Just that she can't vote for Labour.

I won't vote Tory either.

But I can't vote Labour.

That's the problem.

IWFH · 05/02/2024 18:57

I don't know OP.

On the other hand AIBU not to vote Tory because they are a bunch of unscrupulous, lying cunts, with their noses in the trough, with abhorrent views on just about everything, who have completely fucked this country over?

OlympicProcrastinator · 05/02/2024 18:58

Labour supporter my entire adult life. Never have and never will vote Tory.

But they have lost me on this issue. The other party doesn’t want my vote. So I’ll just sit in and drink wine and cake on GE day.

Fuck em all 🍷

0MammaBear0 · 05/02/2024 18:58

All politicians are crooks, maybe if people stopped giving them votes and attention they'd sort themselves out..

Fionaville · 05/02/2024 19:00

Yes they have lost my vote due to this. Along with lots of my female and male friends, not on MN.
We've been left in a political wilderness, with no clue who to vote for.

80skid · 05/02/2024 19:00

He's doing a complete disservice to 51% of the population. He really should know better and to be more committed to the provision of single spaces, same sex medical care and sex based sports categories. I am so disappointed in him and his party members who pretend that some women have a penis or that they cannot define what a woman is.

MatchingBedding · 05/02/2024 19:00

I always wonder why everyone just assumes you will vote for the Tories? We have a great independent and I will be voting for them. This is not the labour I used to be proud to vote for. I think they are not particularly interested in this woman’s vote so they aren’t getting it. I was particularly upset with their recent pledge to prioritise certain groups in the healthcare system over others. I feel that women are completely let down in this area by everyone, from child birth, through menopause and massively in mental health care.
