Is the head of the army being sensationalist to highlight lack of army funding or is the reality of a citizen's army in the UK a step towards a new era of conscription? Both parties would play anything like this down in an election year.

Absolutely
Quite agree
Its just you said ‘ I think it went up to’ …so I thought , I’d note it was in fact higher.

Ps because the age did change ie rise….as war progressed.

lol the way the Government allow people to be treated in this country , its no wonder people wouldnt jump for joy to do this

Alwaysanotherwine · 30/01/2024 23:15

people wouldn’t be doing it for the government through!

if this came in we would indeed be in shit street and people will choose to do it to save their families

...you're being facetious, right?
I know that none of our voting options are fantastic but I think the party responsible for the Holocaust would very much be a lot worse...

Well both our main parties support a potential genocide and have taken our young men to illegal wars looking for WMD, so they are no better imo.

Does anyone on this thread seriously think another country's army would invade UK? Get a map. A few missiles would take care of it and it would look like Gaza in no time at all. A 'citizens army' would serve no purpose in preventing this.
