To ask what you have eaten today? (lighthearted)

I love reading/ hearing about what people have eaten for some reason!
I like telling people what I have eaten too but often they think I'm weird, haha.

So, would you share what you had today and if it was good or bad? (Taste wise, not judging the health benefits)

Mine so far was...
Half a pack of cadbury mini eggs (omg sooo good! will finish them after dinner!)
4 quorn mini eggs (there's a theme here for some reason!)
3 x tea with 2 sugars and milk (twining english breakfast)- my new fave. PG have changed the recipe the bastards!
2 glasses white wine (yummm)
2 satsumas, one with too many pips (why everything is round shaped today?)
& and going to have quiche lorraine with potatoes and salad...(not my fave but my my nice fish is in the freezer and the quiche will go off tomorrow).

Come and share your day's meals with me : )
Or, think I am a weirdo for asking such things? ; /

3 teas with honey
1 small bowl of tarka dhal
1 bowl of butternut squash, chicken and dhal soup
2 slices beef with mustard
1 bowl of mackerel and tomato stew
1 glass red wine with honey

AutumnCrow · 27/01/2024 00:34

I suppose it's yesterday now iyswim but I had one small cracker.

MoonlightMemories · 27/01/2024 05:02

Yesterday I had more cups of tea and the gingerbread cake I'd made, a couple of packets of crisps again, then some lovely broccoli and cauliflower cheese with a few chips for dinner.

By the way, if anyone has any recipe/meal suggestions for using up a ton of broccoli, please feel free to suggest them to me - I asked for 2 florets of the stuff in my latest shop but they were MUCH bigger than I expected (the website said they'd be about 375g each), so now I have nearly 1.5kg of broccoli to try and use up in the next week! 😂

Chocolatepeanutbuttercupsandicecream · 27/01/2024 13:05

That peanut butter noodles thing looks delish!
I have been so bad at eating this week, but I’ve just made homemade soup (leek and potato with cheddar cheese) and cut up a melon into portions (£2 or less for a whole melon which made six servings versus the same cost for one teeny tiny pot). I might get hummus and carrots in the shop and prep that as well for uni next week.

Pliskin · 27/01/2024 13:38

couple of cuppas and 2 mini pancakes

VinegarTrio · 27/01/2024 13:57

Today I have had (or am planning to have for the dinner part!):

3 cups of coffee
most of a raspberry muffin (DS helped himself to a chunk of it)
a banana
some papaya chunks with lime
strawberries
(planned) Cuban prawn pasta for dinner.

wellitywellness · 27/01/2024 14:46

This will be me for today:

Breakfast: Coffee with a dash of soy milk.

Lunch: Squash, radiccio, spinach and lentil salad with orange, walnuts and chilli and a glug of apple cider vinegar.

Dinner: Going out for a curry later - so all usual healthy eating bets off!

Snacks: Handful blueberries and black berries.

Drinks: Genmaichai green tea and home made kefir water throughout the day.

It's been a challenging day 😫

hereforit3 · 27/01/2024 16:00

The giant monster munch was an excellent choice.

DS (3) and I are making mini jellies. Which will not improve the level of nutrients consumed in this house today.

GirlMum40 · 27/01/2024 16:02

Haha thanks, I feel like they did help my mood somewhat. Enjoy the jelly ☺️

@MoonlightMemories I'd probably make soup, or a vegetable quiche

Summerrabbit · 27/01/2024 16:37

@MoonlightMemories, broccoli & cauliflower cheese? Broccoli & Stilton soup? Broccoli pasta bake?

BouleDeSuif · 27/01/2024 16:45

I've had toast and blackberry jam for breakfast
3 homemade bagels (still warm) with cottage cheese, tinned salmon and an apple
And dinner will be the last of the coconut bean soup curry thing and rice.

Summerrabbit · 27/01/2024 16:51

Today I’ve had:
Coffee with oat milk
Home made banana bread with yoghurt & raspberries
Half a piece of banana bread with butter
Half a cinnamon & raisin bagel with peanut butter
Leftover vegetable chow mein, two spring rolls, some Thai prawn crackers
4 seed thins & bowl of wotsits
Latte & pecan, salted caramel cake from Gails.
Dinner will be pasta with homemade tomato sauce.

This is my favourite broccoli recipe: https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/broccoli-anchovy-orecchiette/ (I also add some lemon zest at the same time as the garlic)

These are also delicious: https://smittenkitchen.com/2016/02/broccoli-melts/ (you can use any melty cheese on top)

As is this: https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a24489879/beef-and-broccoli-recipe/

Crikeyalmighty · 27/01/2024 17:16

Fascinating thread-

Seems some people are so healthy eating wise and to me seem to eat huge amounts and others live on an amount that wouldn't feed a bird and what they do eat seems to be like coffee, sweets and tortilla chips

It did help me realise that I eat pretty well relative to many - I am overweight but it's definitely a case of far too much portion wise but good stuff (and wine) - I am down 2 stone 3 but it's taken 14 months so far

Lovelydovey · 27/01/2024 17:31

A Greggs breakfast roll with sausage and ketchup. Glass of orange juice.

Sweet potato, spinach and goats cheese frittata. 2 tangerines.

Chicken and mushroom pie (made by DS 14) with mash, peas and broccoli. Handful of orange mini eggs.

Probably about average day - not every meal is perfect but overall reasonably balanced.

Scirocco · 27/01/2024 18:01

Coffee for breakfast.

Lunch was homemade macaroni cheese and salad - loads of mixed leaves and tomatoes.

Dinner is going to be a veg and tofu stir-fry.
