I love reading/ hearing about what people have eaten for some reason!
I like telling people what I have eaten too but often they think I'm weird, haha.

So, would you share what you had today and if it was good or bad? (Taste wise, not judging the health benefits)

Mine so far was...
Half a pack of cadbury mini eggs (omg sooo good! will finish them after dinner!)
4 quorn mini eggs (there's a theme here for some reason!)
3 x tea with 2 sugars and milk (twining english breakfast)- my new fave. PG have changed the recipe the bastards!
2 glasses white wine (yummm)
2 satsumas, one with too many pips (why everything is round shaped today?)
& and going to have quiche lorraine with potatoes and salad...(not my fave but my my nice fish is in the freezer and the quiche will go off tomorrow).

Come and share your day's meals with me : )
Or, think I am a weirdo for asking such things? ; /

@MumOfTwoLittleOnes24 Loved the pic of your salad.. Anyone else who wants to post pics, even if it's a squashed dairylea triangle with 5 grapes?

I still haven't eaten yet, had a glass of wine for lunch : /
Getting inspiration from everyone here! : )

Tin of Heinz tomato soup and a bagel

catelynjane · 25/01/2024 15:31

Peanut butter on toast and three bags of Walkers crisps, lol.

The food shop is due this evening so it was just what we had left in the cupboards.

LenaLamont · 25/01/2024 15:36

Realised at 1pm I hadn't eated yet, so I did a bowl of rigatoni with chilli and garlic oil.

4 glasses of water
1 mug of marmite 'tea'

Salmon with green beans, cherry tomatoes and olives for dinner tonight.

Barbarachicken · 25/01/2024 15:51

B : Almond croissant

L : Eggs benedict

2 x babybel light

2 x triple chocolate cookies

D : Will be having spag bol for dinner and then greek yogurt with honey, blueberries and raspberries

Plus many mugs of builders tea, 1 x diet coke, 1 x vanilla flat white with oat milk, 1 x passionfruit&orange juice, lots of water

I eat a fair amount but I exercise hard!

Love reading everyone's diets!

BestDIL · 25/01/2024 15:54

Diet at the moment with Orlistat so very careful about what I eat.

Banana and coffee for brekkie
Cous Cous with mushrooms and garlic for lunch
Jacket Potato with leftover home made bolognese sauce.
A few tictacs whilst watching tv.

BobbyBiscuits · 25/01/2024 16:16

@BestDIL Your food sounds lovely. I always though Orlistat really restricted what you can eat. What is the main rules you need to abide by when on that?
Just out of interest, don't mean to pry or derail : )

@Snowdogsmitten When you say you are gobsmacked, how so?
I think there is a massive variation isn't there. But not as much as I thought there would be to be honest. A lot of items keep popping up. That's why I love it...everyone is so different.
I'm craving morning glory with garlic from the vietnamese...haha.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 25/01/2024 16:21

Bowl of muesli
Cheese, prosciutto salad sandwich, packet of crisps and an apple
A couple of handfuls of popcorn

Dinner will be stir fry with thai turkey meatballs.

Gobsmacked because there is such variation. Some people eat like Insta queens, some people exist on astonishing amounts of processed food, fat and sugar. It’s just very interesting and the extremes in with direction are…gobsmacking.

Kim82 · 25/01/2024 16:23

Today so far I have had:

2 cups of tea (milk, no sugar)
A banana
Another cup of tea
Two pieces of crustless quiche
A packet of cheese and chive snack a jacks
Another cup of tea
And I think I’m having chicken pakoras and salad for my tea but I’ve not fully decided yet

I’ve also been drinking water through the day, I think I’ve had roughly 1 litre so far.

I want wine but won’t as I have to drive to the office tomorrow…

AnotherDayAnotherDoller · 25/01/2024 16:24

2 clementines
A banana
Packet of crisps
Soup

LaChienneDesFromages · 25/01/2024 16:26

Oh my gosh. I never knew reading 12 pages about other people’s dinners could be quite so compelling.

Today so far I’ve had Greek yoghurt with fruit compote, orange juice and a coffee for breakfast. I remembered I’d put two pieces of sourdough toast in the toaster just before I got in the car for work. As far as I know they’re still there.

Lunch was from the little sandwich shop across the road from my office. Egg mayo, and watercress sandwich on granary bread. Also, an apple I found in my work bag.

For supper, it’s homemade chilli con carne and rice. And a bowl of broccoli/ green beans for them that fancies it. I feel poorly so will miss choir practice tonight and instead we will settle down in front of The Traitors with tea and yesterday’s left over birthday cake 🙂

Thanks.

The main rule of thumb is to choose foods that are 5% fat or lower. So home made bolognese sauce is made with 5% fat mince. I just check the nutrition labels when shopping. Chocolate and crisps are definite no-nos obviously.

I've not been on it long so am still finding my way. Heard horrendous side effect stories about it before starting but I've been ok but I think it's because I followed the instructions, LOL.

I also have to have a calorie controlled diet, otherwise, I'd just snack on non-fat foods. I've been on it since 2 Jan 24 and have lost 6lbs so I'm happy with the progress too. I have a long way to go so hoping that I can stay on the straight and narrow!

charlaw · 25/01/2024 16:27

Nice to see a lot of people with balanced diets having what they fancy with some veggies thrown in .
I’ve had:
B - yogurt and granola, cup of tea. Would have preferred porridge but the baby woke up.
L - avocado on two slices of toast, orange juice, coffee.
snack - kitkat and decaf (gross) tea
I’m about to have a cup of real tea and probably a crumpet
Tea - food shop day tomorrow so we’re having potato waffles, fish fingers and peas - disgusting but beautiful.
will try not to eat my body weight in chocolate later on.

I’ve read a good tip of eating porridge at about 3pm and am trying to fit some in.

Moier · 25/01/2024 16:30

Two weetabix.
A tuna mayo sandwich.
Two satsumas..
Tea ( evening meal/ dinner/ supper) whatever is M&S Chinese chicken wings.. home made wedges.. home made coleslaw..
Pudding is chocolate 🍫 lol.

Scirocco · 25/01/2024 16:44

Breakfast was fruit salad and granola.

Lunch was a rather depressing hospital sandwich. The packaging would probably have tasted better.

Plus coffee, of course.

Dinner is going to be nice though. Chicken and vegetable curry, homemade so it'll be nicely hot and actually have nutritional value!

LaChienneDesFromages · 25/01/2024 16:50

charlaw I agree. It’s pleasantly surprising to see a fair proportion of balanced diets, with plenty of fresh food and a little of what you fancy 🙂

Quite a contrast to some of the MN food threads I’ve seen.

Alloveragain3 · 25/01/2024 17:00

I love these threads

Breakfast was a costa coffee in bed (thanks DH!) and porridge with blueberries, flax and chia

A few Tbsps of apple puree while using it for baking

Cup of tea and 3 cookies for lunch (eep)

Sweet potato nachos with spicy salsa

Dinner is going to be m&s cod in parsley sauce with peas

BouleDeSuif · 25/01/2024 17:01

This is my coconut bean soup effort, I did cabbage and Jamaican boiled dumplings with it. Very nice it is too. Dinner is early because why not.

To ask what you have eaten today? (lighthearted)
treeinthedistance · 25/01/2024 17:11

A bowl of muesli
2 homemade jam tarts
A Babybel
A piece of leftover quiche from last night's dinner, packet of crisps and a Galaxy bar (it was a lazy day today, my lunches aren't normally this unhealthy) 😂
A banana
Will have probably fish fingers or something with a few oven chips and some salad for dinner later.
Normally something before bed - couple of biscuits or another banana or something.
Drink lots of water and peppermint tea, 3 cups of coffee this morning.

I snack way too much, but I have a chronic health condition where I don't fully absorb nutrients from my food, so am always bloody starving!

BobbyBiscuits · 25/01/2024 17:18

@BestDIL Cool, Sounds like you are doing awesome. I heard those bad stories too so pleased it's not like that if you manage the fat content. Keep up the good work! : )
