AIBU to find lasagna massively overrated.

Ready meal lasagna is point blank rank.
Using jars of sauce makes an alright lasagna but nothing to hype about.
Making it from scratch is by far the tastiest option, but it is just so much effort to make a tomato based sauce while simultaneously making a cheese sauce and then layering to then have to wait for it to cook in the oven!
I’ve never actually had lasagna from a restaurant as it could be very nice but there’s always something that I fancy more.

What is everyone else’s unpopular food opinions?

BBQ sauce tastes of failure and oysters are Neptune’s spunk.

Those fancy overpriced French macarons are bland, stale-textured meh. Give me a bake-sale coconut MACAROON any day!

Lamb is better overcooked than pink.

‘Artisan’ sourdough bread is crap. It’s usually so over baked that the crust is like eating concrete & it hurts your mouth, the ratio of bread to crust is too low, it’s useless for making sandwiches, it’s too expensive and it doesn’t keep.

That prawns aren’t better/more sophisticated served shell on. All the lovely Italians around me do it now, and most people see it is a step up! I’d rather someone else (who I’m paying) to do the mucky work.

Buratta is overrated.

sourdough is not as tasty as a basic white crusty loaf.

Icing/buttercream on (cup)cakes. 4 inches of tooth-electrifying sweetness on top of an indifferent cake.

Bananas are the spawn of the devil.

Seafood tastes far too fishy for my liking. And any fish served with the head still attached is gross.

Tinned rice pudding is beyond disgusting.

Orange flavoured chocolate is not normal.

I'm with you! Bring back a basic tin loaf. We've reached peak sourdough. Unless it's mega fresh or toasted it's a rip off.

Totally agree with you on baked beans - they look, smell and feel like vomit.

But you’ve not been using bay leaves right if you think they add nothing. They are extremely flavourful and will transform a soup or stew. They’re what gives the hearthy taste to home cooking. Add some to a chicken and tomato soup, it takes depths of new flavour.

I like airplane food, especially an airplane breakfast with scrambled egg that has the texture of a kitchen sponge and a hash brown that's sitting in 2cm of mystery liquid in the tray

Also roast dinners are awful and should get punted back to the 1950s.
