Is it me or is Amanda Holden a total narcissist? (I know that word gets thrown around a lot on here but I think she absolutely is one). What kind of mother wants to be centre of attention at her DD’s 18th Birthday bash?

All I see is a mum sending herself up
and getting the party going. Then she gives her daughter the mike and goes behind the scenes. I am not a fan but she comes across here as a loving mum.

I think the kids of celebs are used to this stuff and most of them seem to love being the kids of celebs so I am guessing it must be a pretty cool experience.

This is why I dislike Amanda Holden. And I've met Les Dennis and talked to one of his children.

Its her daughters party, and she seems fine with it. There are after all many advantages to a young woman of having a wealthy famous mother and she may well be proud and pleased to have her as part of her night. I'm no fan of AH but I do dislike this constant spiteful carping about women over a certain age who dare to step out of their lane and refuse to become invisible. As long her daughter is happy with her mums behaviour, which she seems to be, leave the woman be.

Yes Lexi will be under scrutiny as a nepobaby (she is after all) but she has a lavish debt free lifestyle as a result of her mum hard work and brand management

TBF Les Dennis was a national treasure but certainly nowhere near famous enough for her to carve a 25 year career post-him unless she had talent to offer. He wasn’t an A-lister or some super powerful influential bigwig - he was just a gameshow host.

I don’t think she used a marriage breakdown in which she was unfaithful to boost her profile at all - I’m not even sure how one would do this!

Do you not remember all the press in 2002? I had never even heard of her before. All of a sudden everyone knew who she was.

OK that's a fair point that I know nothing about their marriage. It did seem a fairly insensitive dumping at the time, and although I was no particular fan of his either (not a fan, not a non fan, just not part of that world) - I felt she came across as very unkind.

But maybe he was a shit husband and deserved it. Who knows. Yes - I probably shouldn't judge.

But ever since she has still seemed to be a very annoying nobody with little talent and someone who's just got by on being pretty (not the first to do that, I know) - so these awful photos upstaging her DD on her birthday came as no surprise. I am entitled to my opinion - and I'm sure she's laughing all the the way to the bank so won't give a stuff......

Over the years AH has grown on me. She looks like good fun and also looks fab.

It must be bloody hard work to maintain her looks and fitness too. She reminds me a bit of Joan Collins in that way - huge self-discipline, work ethic and energy. Very impressive.

Her face looks dreadful at the moment.
