To think it's tragic if Michael Jackson was indeed innocent

pregahes · 08/01/2024 21:53

It's a real shame for someone who created incredible music to have their legacy at risk. It’s just tragic, considering the impact his music had on so many. It's tragic either way, if he's guilty for the victims and if he's innocent for himself.

I'm a huge fan and at one point t thought he was guilty but kore recently change of heart. I think there would be more victims if he weee in fact guilty. Somethings doesnt add up.

It's tragic

And only about Michael Jackson, and not about the long-term impact of his behaviour - regardless of whether he thought it was OK - on all the boys he had for sleepovers.

I literally condemned his behaviour for not putting boundaries in place ffs.

StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance · 10/01/2024 19:58

nolongersurprised · 10/01/2024 19:55

He had two explanations for the shared bed though, didn’t he.

one was that they wanted to sleep with him (I call bullshit, that’s not how young boys behave with unrelated adults) and the other that it was “pure” and “beautiful”. The latter infers that MJ was the driving force behind the bed-sharing (I mean, of course he was, he was a nounce).

I recall he said something along the lines of it was like a sleepover like what he and his brothers used to have.

MoreDollies · 10/01/2024 19:59

The number of people tying themselves in moral and ethical knots to justify why MJ was "innocent" while ignoring the obvious question of "what makes him so special that allows him to be innocent when Random Joe would be, rightly, shunned by society?" It's terrifying really. Does being musical give you special superpowers of immunity? Does/should having lots of money give you the right to do what you like with impunity? I mean the Deranged Tango would have you believe that but he's not proving to be a particularly reliable witness either.

LoreleiG · 10/01/2024 20:02

I can’t believe any debate is still going on. He so blatantly is America’s Jimmy Saville, it’s clearly just not convenient for MJ fans to believe it.

While exonerating him of any wrong doing completely.

So will continue to draw my own conclusions about you.

I recall he said something along the lines of it was like a sleepover like what he and his brothers used to have.

The obvious flaw in that argument was that a normal person would have sought to recreate that purity of feeling with his brothers or other age-appropriate companions, rather than forgetting he was a fully grown man. He would have done it without the pornographic material as play toys too if he thought it was truly pure..

MissersMercer · 10/01/2024 20:05

I like him unfortunately. I say unfortunately as I think he's guilty, which makes me liking him disgusting.

Yeah because the only problem with MJ’s behaviour was boundaries.

StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance · 10/01/2024 20:06

@MoreDollies I agree with you, he could have had a lads night with his adult friends or something, which is what most adults would do.

I love his music and was a big fan, back in the day.

But like you, can see that what he did was totally wrong.

MissersMercer · 10/01/2024 20:09

I used to be terrified to sleep alone. I was scared of the dark and monsters. Every single night I'd get in my sisters bed (we are 16 months apart). Every single night I slept with her top and tail in her single bed. As a grown up if I try to sleep in the same bed as any of your small daughters feel free to lock me up. Not normal at all as a non related adult and young kid.

StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance · 10/01/2024 20:14

I started out on this thread believing that MJ was innocent but I have to say that speaking to others on here, especially those who have experienced CSA, it has changed my viewpoint somewhat.

There was an interview though, where he said it was “pure” and “beautiful” 🤮

Utterbunkum · 10/01/2024 19:50

@ForTonightGodisaDJ he may well have believed he wasn't doing anything wrong. That's not unheard of in paedophiles. Sometimes they genuinely don't see what they do as wrong, even if society says otherwise. He may have genuinely believed he loved the boys and not have considered he was harming them because he 'loved' them. I watched a documentary some years ago in which a paedophile was interviewed and he pretty much said he didn't see anything wrong with having sex with very much underage girls.
Not thinking he was doing anything wrong (if that was the case) doesn't mean he wasn't doing anything wrong. It just means that he didn't think it was wrong.

This is an excellent point.

Hibernatalie · 10/01/2024 20:22

Don't worry, he isn't.

What's tragic is being sexually abused as a child.

nolongersurprised · 10/01/2024 20:26

Watch the interview. He talks about how with one boy he sleeps in a sleeping bag, but does sleep in the bed with others. It’s beautiful and “everyone should do it”.

Watch how he smiles and moistens his lips when the interviewer brings it up.

Michael Jackson talked about sharing his bed with kids, called it a 'beautiful thing'

There is a link on here from yesterday I think that shows the items that were found in his home. I had to stop reading it as it was absolutely disgusting. So please don't say nothing was found like indecent pictures because there were plenty. Sadly a lot of them didn't quite make it over the line of illegal just extremely dodgy if that makes sense.

I know! And also the way he’s grasping Gavin’s hand. I’ve never bought the whole “he was just hanging out like one of the boys” argument but that’s not what boys do together. My son and his friends wrestle and play fight but they don’t grasp hands like that.

StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance · 10/01/2024 20:36

@nolongersurprised yes the handholding was uncomfortable to look at. I can understand it if it's your own young child but someone else's child - no! I would even hold my 11 year old step son's hand like that and I've known him since he was 1!

Meant to say wouldn't hold my step sons hand like that 🤦‍♀️

There were books showing pictures of naked children. You can call that “artwork”, I call it child sexual abuse material

Cherubs are depicted naked... in photographs where children pose as them for artworks or paintings they're naked or very near to naked... is that pornography?

Waiting for the apologists to say, “Gavin was clearly about to run out onto the road and MJ was actually saving his life”.

Yes. Children shouldn’t be posing naked for adults to take pictures of them, and for those pictures to be published in a book. They can’t consent to this.

which is why it’s no longer termed “pornography” but child abuse material. I wouldn’t let my child pose naked for arty images, would you?
