Have you ever seen the Instagram profile who exposes Tattle users … it’s HILARIOUS because every single exposed person looks exactly what I would expect them to look like and if I was a person being talked about on that site I would find it very difficult to be offended by people that rip others looks apart when they look like they do.

tattlers_unmasked if anyone wants a laugh.

No one is allowed to mention that profile on tattle or they get banned - ironic isn’t it given their whole we have a right to talk about who we want stance. Even slagging off the way babies look ( I know they say they don’t ) but they do.

Anyway enjoy its a very interesting.

Can you imagine though if someone started a mumsnet posters unmasked page?

Boomer55 · 02/01/2024 16:50

Never heard of Tattle. Most online forums can be savage. 🤫. Whatever, it’s online not real life. 🙄

ThreeRingCircus · 02/01/2024 16:51

I think posters on Mumsnet in general are getting ruder. I think that's true across Social Media, there's a lot of judgement and rudeness.

However, I stay on Mumsnet for the gardening boards which are lovely, Style and Beauty, money advice, the Christmas bargain threads etc which are all great. When I've been on Tattle some of the stuff I have read about celebrities is downright awful and there have been some really concerning posts that are pretty stalker-ish.

I think if I had a real problem and wanted some advice, I'd be more likely to get true answers here on Mumsnet than on Tattle. Perhaps not all nice, but more realistic than "omg hun" platitudes I see on Tattle a lot.

Without my glasses on I misread the title as "Trifle is much better."

That would be a thread I could get on board with.

Jelly in trifle though?

Itsbritneybitch22 · 02/01/2024 16:53

@mordenbuity

Because it exposes people for what they really are and it ain’t that ‘tit’ they put out there

Does anyone find it strange that a lot of these people are nurses and care givers? Considering some of the awful things they say? I’m not talking about the gossip side of celebs I’m talking about the absolute batshit side.

And when people cross over from tattle to other sites like here, insta, fb and tiktok .. it’s very easy to work out who they are in real life just and FYI for you tattle saints 😉

If your response to "people are being unkind to X" is "well, X is an attention seeker", then you aren't as removed from Tattle culture as you think you are.

NonPlayerCharacter · 26/12/2023 22:56

One of the things that drew a lot of us to Tattle is that it's lacking various MN traits like being obsessed with class or being an MRA. We don't want to bring that over. I can't generate codes yet but when I can I'll be giving them only to people with a long established posting history which shows they'd be a good fit.

Quite partial to Tattle yourself by the look of this post you made last week!

KittensandPerverts · 02/01/2024 16:54

One of my very first posts on Mumsnet, MANY years ago, was an innocuous question about whether we could have a thumbs up/emoji button. What resulted was a massive pile on including people asking if I could read, why I was posting something that been posted a million times and ultimately being told to get lost because they'd already unanimously decided between them they didn't want this feature.

One of the things I love most about Tattle is the fact that I can see reactions to each post. It definitely adds context. The closest Mumsnet have got in more than a decade since my first question is a stupid wave that only the author can see. Pointless.

Yes, I've been very open here about the fact I'm on Tattle. How do you think I knew that swearing isn't censored once you're logged in? AS me a bit more (you know you want to) and you'll probably see more posts along those lines.

Sorry, what were you hoping for? Was I supposed to be horrified that you found this?

ScottChegg · 02/01/2024 16:55

I'm wondering if we should have a vicious bunfight about trifle though. To give them a thread on the Tattle MN thread to pick over.

VanityDiesHard · 02/01/2024 16:57

Yes and no. I like how ruthless they are towards useless influencers, they are also less misandrist than this place. They don't assume all men are evil and all women are saints, and they keep the anti-trans stuff in one place instead of letting it spew all over everywhere. That's the positive. The negative is that they can be nasty about kids. That said, judging by some of the vile comments on here today about poor Luke Littler, whose only crime is to be chubby and have bad teeth, I'd say that MN is very little better.

CatMadam · 02/01/2024 16:57

TattleTalesTattling · 02/01/2024 14:43

Have you seen the way posters on here talk to OP's? I'm talking your average person, not content creators with thousands of followers, just normal folk seeking advice about personal problems. It's horrendous. I've never seen that on tattle. Ever.

I think tattle is a bit gross but I agree with you in that some people on here act really quite embarrassingly awfully. I wonder if there was a downvote system like on Reddit, would people still act like high school bullies so often.

MartinsSpareCalculator · 02/01/2024 16:59

I went on tattle once, after it was linked here and it seemed to be just loads of gossip about people in the public eye. Not for me!

Aliaolo · 02/01/2024 16:59

I'm not really a fan of Tattle, just don't prefer it to MN. However if you mean the MN thread specifically, it's just full of people slating MN posters. Some of the posts I can definitely see why, but others seem to really dig into S&B posters, for example, and it's just nasty. They do come across as quite witty, generally, but then I think - they're also spending time going through MN to find posts to pick on or making fake threads and finding it hilarious (yet openly discussing it on Tattle) or thinking of ways to trick MN users, such as is being discussed now with sending fake sign-up codes. I guess MN and Tattle are as bad as each other.
I am also a member on there but mainly stick to MN when I do post.

Itsbritneybitch22 · 02/01/2024 17:01

@Badtrampoline

Why would they? Everyone is anonymous on this type of site, it’s not like a load of people are for instance me and a thousand other people coming to say oh badtrampoline is moving house here the rightmove advert and this is the school that babybad is going to, my besties cousins next door neighbours aunt work there…. also babybad is obese and ugly and I am stalking the garden center cos she comes in at that time so I will take photos.

It’s those creeps who tattlers unmasked expose not the general gossip ones … because they’re fuckin mental.

Tattle is brilliant when Captain Tom's daughter has been up to mischief again. On here, I don't read any replies or messages to my comments, so I can only imagine how nasty some people are probably very.
