This, with a million bells on!

If somebody disagrees with another poster on there they are generally very polite about it. There are a lot of very rude and condescending people on here who make no attempt to hide it.

The nasties on here are obviously people who are very unhappy in life and like to take their frustrations out on others. They'd not be as brave face to face.

Itsbritneybitch22 · 02/01/2024 16:32

Have you ever seen the Instagram profile who exposes Tattle users … it’s HILARIOUS because every single exposed person looks exactly what I would expect them to look like and if I was a person being talked about on that site I would find it very difficult to be offended by people that rip others looks apart when they look like they do.

tattlers_unmasked if anyone wants a laugh.

No one is allowed to mention that profile on tattle or they get banned - ironic isn’t it given their whole we have a right to talk about who we want stance. Even slagging off the way babies look ( I know they say they don’t ) but they do.

Anyway enjoy its a very interesting.

The true crime threads on Tattle can be quite concerning. I went on the ones about Star Hobson when that trial was going on. The detailed fetishisation and rumination on the physical details of what the victim went through - even to the point of lengthy speculation on physical details of pain, etc - was grotesque and not a little unnerving. Of course it was all dressed up as righteous concern and a love for justice but it wasn't that really. It was getting off on suffering. I think that kind of thing would be stamped on pretty quickly on MN. Not be moderators but by other posters which is better, I think.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is an air on Tattle of being nicer people and morally superior than on MN (they do make direct comparison) but it's not like that at all really.

I know what you are alluding to. The crime stuff on Tattle or pretty much any discussion forum can be seriously doolally, yes. Trial threads / missing person threads that descend into such sadism and ghoulishness do get nixed here-- and that's the right call, I think. I wouldn't be surprised if people fantasising about how much pain victims were in did end up on some sort of watch list somewhere, tbh.

rochethenut · 02/01/2024 16:33

On your other threads about what i can only presume is an abusive husband and/or a very unhappy marriage where you say LTB has been the advice…. have posters been supportive and kind to you?

Was just going to say the same 😆

this is the kind of thing i said to my 8 year old years ago when she was having a tough time at school

in reality…. people can be pretty nasty on an anonymous chat forum and perfectly happy and fulfilled in RL!

WhatsInStoreFor2024 · 02/01/2024 16:35

I agree with you op!!

thinktwice36 · 02/01/2024 16:36

Never heard of tattle 🤷‍♀️

Wheresthebeach · 02/01/2024 16:37

The Tattle threads I'm on are much more forgiving/accepting of differing views. Less pile on's too.

NonPlayerCharacter · 02/01/2024 16:40

rochethenut · 02/01/2024 16:23

not at all. i don’t even click on those types of threads. the worst of women.

If your response to "people are being unkind to X" is "well, X is an attention seeker", then you aren't as removed from Tattle culture as you think you are.

Mywhoopdeedoo · 02/01/2024 16:41

Tattle threads don’t descend into ridiculous bun fights over minor details

That's because disagreements are not allowed.

The Tattle forums must really be thriving if their users feel the need to start threads on rival sites....👀

They are allowed, you don’t get the snobbery and condescension that you get on here

might head over there then! 😂

ScottChegg · 02/01/2024 16:46

Without my glasses on I misread the title as "Trifle is much better."

That would be a thread I could get on board with.

I've seen that before! That's definitely an instant ban to mention.

dooneyousmugelf · 02/01/2024 16:48

When I joined a couple of years ago I was expecting it to live up to its reputation across other social media, but no I've found the users to be mostly decent and kind a with a strong sense of solidarity. Things don't go tits up as frequently as say, on here.

dooneyousmugelf · 02/01/2024 16:48

I’ve never seen Tattlers Unmasked on insta but I’ve requested to follow now! You aren’t allowed to talk about private accounts on Tattle anyway though, it’s in the rules.
