Never liked it. Never will.

Would you say 'Don't read it then' about Mein Kampf?

I'd say it about any book, film, play, why on earth wouldnt you? There's no compulsion to read it watch things you don't like

It is odd to start threads about it, why would anyone feel the need to announce it publically

AllIsWellish · 17/12/2023 14:30

Yep, it does every year. What ever you do don't make any negative comments about Alan Rickman 😅

Actually Alan Rickman looks aged and creepy, and sports some dreadful clothes, in LA, which makes the Sexy Secretary who keeps sitting legs akimbo in their office, more or less pointing at her vagina in case he doesn’t get the message, even more of a nauseating male fantasy than middle-aged Idiot PM snags nubile tea lady from US President, or grieving dad bags supermodel at school panto.

Mojodojocasahaus · 17/12/2023 15:47

Liked it when it came out, watched it last night and thought it had aged. Right pile of shit. Hate the fact that they go on about Martene Mccutchens giant arse 🙄

CharlottePimpernel · 17/12/2023 15:53

It's awful. I saw it in the cinema and thought it was mawkish rubbish then.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 17/12/2023 14:34

I don't like Maltesers.

Reported. I have my limits.

Blessedarethecheesemakerss · 17/12/2023 15:56

It hasn’t “aged”. It was awful, creepy, male fantasist tripe when it was made. It was always bad.

Spirallingdownwards · 17/12/2023 16:00

I listened to Richard Curtis being interviewed the other day on the radio and even he admitted he would not write it today because there were a number of "issues" with it including the fat shaming and stalking.

It’s utterly toxic. The Kiera Knightly / Andrew Lincoln storyline is horrific.

How so? Haven't seen it in years (not a big fan) but I thought he was in love with his best friends mate and told her about it, that was it. Did I miss something 🤔

I think you’re right and I was young and impressionable

steff13 · 17/12/2023 16:11

You're legally required to like it. I hope no one decides to log this with the police.

Daisies12 · 17/12/2023 16:37

Don’t watch it then. No one cares if you don’t like it

AGAIN, WTF? 😆

So many over-reactions on here. Get a grip people!

Raspberrymoon49 · 17/12/2023 20:46

It’s crap, just like other ‘blockbusters’ like Dirty Dancing, totally over rated

HuntingoftheSnark · 17/12/2023 20:49

petraemerald · 17/12/2023 14:26

*that should have read woman and her brother! I've no idea why it was autocorrected to beritger.

I love this correction. I thought it was an unusual and sophisticated term for male sibling or relative.

User1786 · 17/12/2023 20:58

Yeah you’re weird!! Why don’t you like it? What movies do you like?

peppermintcrisp · 17/12/2023 21:12

It is so odd. The storyline about the boy who lost his mother and is in love and then in the next scene the porn doubles. Poor lad acting in this film.

JustOneMoreBaileys · 17/12/2023 21:13

PooglesWood · 17/12/2023 21:14

Yeah it’s shite

DrMarshaFieldstone · 17/12/2023 21:14

Where have you been? It’s been de rigeur to hate Love Actually for at least ten years.

peppermintcrisp · 17/12/2023 21:17

...I do like Hugh Grant in this and there are some great acting performances. I am always invested in the Karl romance thingy - guy she likes from the office.

C1N1C · 17/12/2023 21:19

I despise Lala Land 😎

BIossomtoes · 17/12/2023 21:20

Christ, yes. What a shit movie that is.

peppermintcrisp · 17/12/2023 21:27

I love Lala Land. Why the hate? :(

CheerfulBunny · 17/12/2023 13:21

Nope, you're not alone but it's one of those films everyone says they love. I've always been a contrary bugger - I can't stand Notting Hill either. Hugh Grant is alright but his horrible, braying Hooray Henry mates in it.. groo!
(I didn't think much of Elf tbh, but I realise I'm very much in a minority there. I'll get my coat)

Respectfully, are you joking?! The scruffy Welsh bloke and Hugh Grant's sister (Rest her soul) were hardly Hooray Henrys.
