I've narrowed it down to The Only living Boy in New York by Simon and Garfunkel ( I'm obsessed with the weather forecast, only news I need)
And Raise Hell by Brandi Carlisle. Also something by Magnetic fields....Andrew in Drag probably not appropriate though...

I'm a funeral arranger and one of the parts I enjoy most is the diversity of music that gets chosen.

i intend to go direct to crem without a ceremony, so no music needed.

Is there anything that's influenced you in your job to make that decision?

The joy of living by Ewan maccoll.

I love that song. It’s one that really should be better known than it is.

LindorDoubleChoc · 09/12/2023 19:31

Galloping Home - which is the theme music to the TV Series Black Beauty (from the 1970s).

and Morning Has Broken by Cat Stevens.

I want a direct cremation and will spare my DC the pain of associating a song with me.

I loved Time to say Goodbye by Andrea Boccelli/Sarah Brightman but my Dad played it at my stepmum's funeral and I've never been able to listen to it again!

GrumpyOldCrone · 09/12/2023 19:34

I would like:
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
Guide me O thou great Jehovah
Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son

Can I have three? It seems like a lot but they’re all pretty good to sing.

I can relate to this. You'll Never Walk Alone was played at my grandad's funeral and I cannot listen to it without those painful memories of losing him. 😞

The Lark Ascending or the slow movement from Mozart's clarinet quintet.

I was thinking of having Russ Abbott’s “I love a party with a happy atmosphere” when the coffin comes in.

Agadoo when the curtains close. And everyone can push pineapple and shake the tree as they leave the crem.

Why @TicTacNicNak

pinklemonata · 09/12/2023 19:44

@ChateauDuMont That was my DMs most favourite song ever, she would play it repeatedly in my teens but I haven't heard it in 10+ years! Thanks for bringing back some fabulous memories Smile

FourteenTog · 09/12/2023 19:44

3 of mine would be really outing (I have thought about this a lot)! 4th would be Louis Armstrong, We have all the time in the world. Because I believe we do.
