Dh asked if we could swap pyjama tops

Bought Dh, myself and Dd matching Christmas pjs (I know, I know)
All went to get dressed in them and get all cosy after work. DD’s age 5, mine a large and Dh XL-he’s an average sized guy, but quite tall and I thought baggy. I’m size 16 now and need to get some weight off.
Mine fitted ok, Dh came downstairs and says his top was a bit small (it wasn’t really) and could he swap with mine? I said why mine as mines a large and his is extra large? He said mine looked bigger and the womens tops are usually larger.
Aibu to feel a weird kind of offended by this or just being super sensitive because I hate mr weight and I’m tired of being fat?

yours looks bigger on you because you are shorter than him maybe?
why don't you swap and see how it fit
he sees you in all kinds of outfits, don't take offence for a pyjama comment unless there is more to be revealed...

No way will a women’s L be bigger than men’s XL.

I don’t think it’s offensive but it is a bit daft. He should just change his.

He’s wrong - women’s tops aren’t bigger.

Also - if an XL is small on him unless he is exceptionally tall overweight too?

Unless he’s got form for making comments about your weight I would just assume he didn’t understand how sizing works.

@carddino Thats what I mean, he didn’t know the size of mine-L or his Xl until I said, so did he think mine just must be bigger because I’m a big fatty 🙈

I wouldn't be offended at this I thought you were going to say he was an AGP. In my experience, a men's xl is the same as a women's xl (possibly longer sleeves and torso length).

So he didn't know what actual sizes they were just that his looked small and yours looked big. I don't think this is a criticism of your body as he thought you were huge he wouldn't suggest swapping and giving what he thought was a smaller top to you.

Is it a unisex male fit style? Women’s fit is often bigger in different parts for equivalent sizes but a large won’t be bigger than an XL unless there is a manufacturer error.

Yes but his logic is still flawed as he still wanted to swap despite knowing the sizes.

I'd definitely be offended he thought yours would be bigger especially after knowing the sizes.

@Furleasenavidad I don't think he thinks you're a big fatty. I don't think he thought beyond, hers looks loose & comfy & mine is too tight. If anything thinking the one that's too tight on him would fit you!!

let him try yours, then see if he can swap his for an XXL
