Milkshake story den.

Why are we reading books about pride, gender and drag to pre-school children.

It isn’t just on preschool programming, though. It has won awards, and is in many public and school libraries.

Exactly. The establishment are actively championing this.

This is where we are people.

I think the picture you shared of the two men kissing is a photoshopped image.

I just checked the Amazon listing and while it definitely does show the man in bondage gear, they aren't kissing. I think this is the problem with debates like this and why they get nowhere and we all become polarised

It is not photoshopped, it is real. The only thing is 1 version was available that was MORE explicit and had “furry” tattoos.

grandadspride · 01/12/2023 10:26

I don't think anyone has an issue with two old blokes kissing though.

Gross. What the fuck is wrong with the UK, I can't imagine ever being able to move back to my home country.

Where do you live now? Interested to hear where is better!

Harry Woodgate is the author and illustrator. So arguably he took what could be a sweet, inclusive book with a positive message and used it as a vehicle to expose very young kids to drag, misogyny, fetish gear, the normalisation of body mutilation, and the idea that 'love is love' which is a favourite saying of Minor Attracted Persons.

SapphosRock · 01/12/2023 10:28

How many children are sexually abused by their grandfathers? A lot more than those who have innocent, gay granddads who are into bondage and maps.

We should be teaching kids about appropriate behaviour, how to set boundaries and how to spot predators.

'Grandad is a nonce' is an awful reality for some children.

OFF switch OP.

Valerianandfoxglovesoup · 01/12/2023 10:29

I am so sheltered thank god. I tell people at work that I could go to prison for calling a man with a dick a man and people don't believe me. It's so sad how brainwashed people are in little pockets of the world

I have lived in the MENA for almost 30 years and it's too late now, I can't move back. I have too much freedom as a woman to return to the UK.

FelineGood76 · 01/12/2023 10:31

Are there actually people here defending this shit? This world is well and truly fucked. Seriously, if you think this is OK you are either quite dim or are so far down the gender rabbit hole you have lost your mind. We need to ask why this is being pushed so hard to children, and by whom.

Vile just vile.

It seems only one view on this is allowed, and anyone who dares to challenge to it will immediately be accused of transphobia amongst other things. Calling someone transphobic doesn't mean you've instantly proved your point.

Op I'm with you...this is a huge step too far. It's concerning that this is being shoved down our children's throats not only on tv but in schools and libraries.

My children aren't preschoolers anymore thankfully, and neither of them believe people can change sex, but they believe everyone should be treated with respect no matter their orientation or preferences.

HiddenLegoOuch · 01/12/2023 10:35

I checked previously when this book was being discussed - it is in public/council libraries in Australia. The reach of this ideology is absolutely terrifying.

I mean it could just be a coincidence that the children's book has images of men in fetish gear, references MAPs and talks about how love is love.

Just like it was a coincidence that a man who had lectured at a pro paedophile conference went to work at Mermaids as a trustee.

sollenwir · 01/12/2023 10:44

BarqsHasBite · 01/12/2023 10:15

@sollenwir has presented a highly persuasive argument which can be summarised as “bias bias bias, transphobia transphobia transphobia, all of OPs posts, all of them!!”

Hope that helps.

Very clever.
My honest reply has been, and still is, that if people don't see transphobia in OP's post then I am not sure what would make them see it, because to me it's so blatant.

I'm truly not being goady. I genuinely feel this way. I would really find it hard to navigate all the off limits things and dear the hateful aggression if someone who truly isn't used to this level of policing accidently says the wrong thing. Or not. Because I am not accidently calling a man a man. I am deliberately trying to assert basic fact and morally important fact at that. But I also accidently have an opinion which I have to forget about when I visit.

TerfTalking · 01/12/2023 10:45

sollenwir · 01/12/2023 10:14

Using language like that tells me all I need to know.
If I don't see any reason to be anti trans then sure, I'm 'captured'.

touché

Come on then, enlighten me since you are suggesting I am biologically ignorant and you know so much more about the complexities of biology and sexual development.

The truth isn't anti trans and you are down a very deep dark rabbit hole.

Yes, you are seeing 'transphobia' and nobody else on the thread can see it.

That's why we're asking you to point it out.
