I have to pick up Dd from school ( very close by) then Dh (15 minute drive) from work. His car is in the garage so has been using mine (our other one) he drove to work the last couple of mornings, when he got out of the car, I started to drive home and saw there was literally no petrol in the car, it was on one last bar that means it’s low but ok, that bar has gone now…does this mean zero petrol or enough for me to pick him up (15 min drive) stupidly he has the wallet with cards and cash in (one of those days)
Will I be able to make it to him?

Check under the sofa for pound coins.

I found £6.50 last time I checked. That should enable you to get enough fuel.

If she's not got petrol nine months later, she's got bigger problems!

I've started reporting every single one of these resurrections of zombie threads in the hope that they do something about it. It is such a simple thing to fix.
(Sorry for adding to the mess)

In my small car an empty tank gives me 20 miles on an A Road/motorway or 40 miles if I’m pootling along at 20/30.

Why have you resurrected a 9 month old thread? It warned you it was a Zombie thread but you still posted? I’m intrigued to understand your thinking on this?

veritasverity · 16/08/2024 19:53

Dandyclocks no warning about zombies come up on the app (I haven't updated the app for a while, so maybe it's a new feature, but nothing to show me this is a zombie....talking of zombies, I'm currently hiding behind mumsnet whilst dd watches some hideous zombie apocalypse film!

😂It’s ok, it got me there, folks

And your husband should have Uber on his phone.

Oh 😂

just tell him to make his own way home and then send him to refuel the car. Running down the petrol reserve is a real dick move. I wouldn't pick him up.

I'm sure the OP will listen and not pick him in in November 2023.
