7 dogs in Starbucks today is too much

I turned around and walked out again, don’t get me started on dogs sniffing cups and plates of food whilst sat next to the owners.
What is the solution ?
Can’t dogs be left anymore?
AIBU to think dog separation cannot be so painful that dogs have to go everywhere!

I am not a dog hater, but this would annoy me too

sollenwir · 25/11/2023 20:22

Standproperly · 25/11/2023 20:17

That’s fine but you can’t expect to dictate whether dogs are allowed

Neither can you.

Standproperly · 25/11/2023 20:24

LuckySantangelo35 · 25/11/2023 20:22

why can’t you dog lovers just leave your dogs at home?! Are they like some sort of social crutch for you or something?!

we love our dogs so what is so hard to understand that they are often out with us?

WanderingWitches · 25/11/2023 20:24

HappySammy · 25/11/2023 19:53

I have cats but I also love dogs. If I was able to bring my cats everywhere I would so I love seeing dogs out with their owners.

Same!
It makes a day out so much more enjoyable, bumping into all the lovely dogs and cats!

Not particularly, but I enjoy meeting and talking to like minded people. Dogs socialising is great for them as well.

Stressedafff · 25/11/2023 20:25

Why do kids always get brought into it. For fuck sake

There are adult only places, it’s acceptable to say you want a meal without children. No one is offended by that, most parents will agree!
But the second you mention even the slightest objection to dogs being all over there’s outcry.

30not13 · 25/11/2023 20:25

The poll results speak for themselves 🤷‍♂️

Standproperly · 25/11/2023 20:25

sollenwir · 25/11/2023 20:22

I’m not, I’m saying stop whingeing about it and go somewhere else if the cafe owner has decided that their place is dogfriendly

Are you missing the point, made several times, that some places no longer have any dog free cafes (especially in quieter areas)? Hopefully this ridiculous fad of taking dogs everywhere will die a natural death fairly soon.

Oh such a ridiculous and actually rather rude post. They live up to 15 years if we are lucky. I want to spend as much time with them as possible. Oh and ...owners or premises let us in with dogs, actually welcome us because we spend £££ so because we are SO welcome we don't have to leave them at home. Not that is any of your business whatsoever 😂

Can't see the poll, what's it saying?

Wellhellooooodear · 25/11/2023 20:28

WanderingWitches · 25/11/2023 19:28

What about cat cafes?

The cats live there though and they are marketed as having cats there. Nobody is going to a cat cafe unless they like cats are they.

It's ridiculous and rude to think everyone else should just put up with your inability to leave your dog at home/do things it actually enjoys.

73% say OP isn’t being unreasonable so 🤷‍♀️

Vegetus · 25/11/2023 20:29

6 dogs is fine but 7 is outrageous.

fortifiedwithtea · 25/11/2023 20:30

I’d rather sit next to a dog than a human/toddler in a cafe tbh

MrsMarzetti · 25/11/2023 20:30

Standproperly · 25/11/2023 20:14

It isn’t that my dog can’t be left at home but that isn’t compulsory. A lot of people enjoy having their dogs out with them in dog friendly pubs and cafes

And to hell with everyone else!

30not13 · 25/11/2023 20:30

Why are you comparing humans and animals though?

The poll echoes the dog households/non dog households. The third of the population owning dogs will mostly take them to some public places.

Nelly91 · 25/11/2023 20:31

Lucky you don't have asthma then @fortifiedwithtea

The more dogs the better. They are mostly better than people imo.

What a dumb statement.

LuckySantangelo35 · 25/11/2023 19:47

@heartsinvisiblefury

why should she have to?!

humans trump dogs, always

If the business decides, commercially, it is better to let in dogs then that is their decision. No one has a right to a “dog free” space, and there is no top trumps . If you don’t like it then vote with your wallet 🙄
