Lip filler everywhere

Each to their own but I just don’t understand why some young women mess around with their faces so much at an early age.

Some young women having Botox, lip fillers, cheek fillers etc when they’re in their late teens and early 20’s and looking like clones of each other. Too much work and I’m sorry but it gives a blow up doll look.

Angrymum22 · 23/11/2023 16:07

People think that it’s the shelving effect that gives them away, it’s not, a lot of naturally fuller lips have a bit of shelving.
It’s much more subtle, the natural lip mucosa has a line where the skin finishes and the oral mucosa begins, when the lips are filled the line is moved so it exposed the oral mucosa to the air and dries it out, this happens however much filler is used. It causes a visible area of dried out mucosa that needs constant wetting ie lip licking.
Now here is the sex link. Your lips swell up when you are aroused causing the same affect and leads to lip licking. Lip licking is probably a behavioural indication of arousal and receptiveness for sex. It’s a non verbal behaviour. However we try and wrap it up having lip fillers done will encourage attention from men even if it is sub consciously.
If it helps, mens lips also swell up when aroused.
Anyone who claims to have lip fillers for themselves is kidding themselves.

It's all the licking and pulling them off their teeth with their tongue that gets me. Do they suction to the teeth or something?

Filler disrupts the wet/dry proportion of the lips.
So the area that was previously inside 'wet' has now been stretched outside and feels 'dry' hence all the licking

babbygabby · 23/11/2023 16:33

I don't think saying things like "look like they want a dick in their gob" is really out of concern for wider impact or dodgy practitioners.

But my reply was to the comment “Can we not just let people do what they want with their own faces?”…

I have naturally full lips, I wonder if people think I've had filler, I hope not! I was called BJ lips in school it wasn't nice at all!

Ive been called the same, only by the opposite sex though.

howshouldibehave · 23/11/2023 16:46

Those lips posted at 2.41 look really sore and swollen. Unfortunately, the puffiness above the top lip give a slight shadow which reminds me of a moustache. Each to their own though-I wouldn’t want to have it done to me, but if people really like that look, fair play.

Lemmoella · 23/11/2023 16:50

@funbags3 I really don’t know, I don’t think so. There are other photos online the same. She is careful to pose face on usually but she admits she has had lots of work and is very open about it. She had openly talked about all her surgeries and fillers. Last year she got her buccal fat removed and had quite a lot of filler

funbags3 · 23/11/2023 16:54

@Lemmoella It's such an extreme look.

Greenpolkadot · 23/11/2023 16:56

They look a mess and so obvious

I believe the people who have it for themselves. One woman's lips had practically disappeared and were lined (thread here) and just a tiny amount of filler had made them look as they used to, apparently. Others have just had extremely thin lips.

slore · 23/11/2023 17:16

There was a woman on a follow up episode of a TV show, the first filmed in 2018 and the second in 2023.

In the first episode, she appeared to be about mid-30's and quite attractive.

In the second episode, she had botox and extreme lip filler and looked like she was in her late 40's. The lip filler was so bad she had made herself look like she had a jaw deformity.

Botox and filler are so, so aging on younger women. See also: Cheryl Tweedy/Cole/etc.

I'm sorry but these are the epitome of why lip fillers are criticised. All the hallmarks are there: moustache ridge, strange shape, protruding.

Lovely! I have nice thick lips but I envy your teeth a lot!

optimistic40 · 23/11/2023 18:47

Yeah, it's becoming really widespread. Recently I went to get my highlights done and the young woman told me that she really wants lip fillers. I looked at her and she had naturally full, nicely shaped lips. I asked her why and she said that it's part of the look that people have at her age (she was 19) and then it "makes your lipstick look better" 🤷‍♀️

I hate that too Confused

JessieLongleg · 23/11/2023 18:51

@Amortentia yes white blonde, now I'm more golden as in 40s, never tan jest freckle. People would ask if black albino. At first it was a copy of a non white feature now it's the filler look. I follow a black albino on IG and even she said we look alike.

bryceQ · 23/11/2023 18:51

I have really large lips for a white woman, I have a slight shelf that does occur naturally but my lips look so different to filler.

I live in north London and there seems to be a considerable socio - economic divide on the lip filler. The "middle class" girls are all very minimalist makeup, long straight hair with centre parting and really baggy clothes with tiny tops. No lip filler.

Be kind.

Or just be sensible? If your going to post a photo of your filled lips some are going to comment on them particularly considering the thread context. There will be differences of opinion, absolutely nothing do with kindness!!! 🤦‍♀️

bryceQ · 23/11/2023 18:59

My lips have a shadow, no filler. It does happen naturally too

Grapewrath · 23/11/2023 19:02

Tbh you wouldn’t notice most people have filler unless it’s over filled or they want that ‘done’ look.

Question, how do you determine who these “middle class” minimalist girls are as opposed to the, & I assume you mean, working and lower class girls who have the lip filler? Do you know them personally to decide which socioeconomic group they belong to? Or are you just judging them on appearance?

No they don't! A fuller lower lip is far more common than equally full lips. And a top lip that's fuller than the bottom one is rare, which is one reason why lip filler so often looks terrible.

Yettisrus2 · 23/11/2023 19:47

I noticed someone at work yesterday had obviously had lip filler, her top lip was so out of proportion and stuck out(like Victoria Beckham's). It looked so silly.

I'm kind of glad I have a phobia of needles as it means I can't mess with my face.
