Laurence Fox libel trial

Laurence Fox has been sued for libel by two people he described as paedophiles in a twitter spat. They described LF as racist. Trial began today, suing and counter-suing. Mr Fox arrived with his - written thus (daily mail) in single quotes - 'girlfriend'. Odd description.

Just have a discussion without getting rude.

I don't know the circumstances for why it is was posted.
Obviously if he has posted it because he supports Nazi's then that is disgusting.

It’s a bit crass but I think his point was that the pride movement is cultish and intolerant. Not an offensive opinion imo.

Clearly you are a great supporter of Mr Fox and believe him to be much maligned on this thread. No doubt you would be warmly welcomed as a supporter of his case.

Please educate yourself on what racism is (which is not the same as CRT, about which you also appear confused beyond 'it's leftie wokery which I don't like because Reasons") because you have not the first clue and are not covering yourself in glory here.

Whether or not he has an agent he has so tarnished himself that many people won't be willing to work with him. A spell in the Priory wouldn't go amiss. If they'll take him.

The Nazis gassed large numbers of people to death, including LGBT people because they were LGBT. Has this been your experience with the pride movement? If not then perhaps it’s right to say he was making a poor comparison, and in bad not to say grotesque taste?

I didn't say that at all. I don't know the reasons or the story behind why he has put a Swastika up. So I can't really comment on it. If he has put it up as I said before as a Nazi supporter then that is disgusting.

The swastika is offensive. Not just 'a bit crass'. No one who posts a swastika on their social media can then complain that someone else trashed their reputation.

So, likening (add movement you don't like in here) to Nazi's isn't offensive in any way and you honestly don't understand how it could be?

He 'interrupted' her because she was telling him she was 'worried' about him having an opinion because of the colour of his skin.
Most people would interrupt if someone was using your skin colour as a reason to be 'worried' about your opinions.

You can easily find out why he posted it - his reasoning has been explained on the thread. It's still a swastika, that he chose to post on his twitter feed. If you post a swastika on twitter, people will believe you are racist. You can't then sue them for ruining your reputation. There are many careers, not just acting, which would be over if you posted a swastika online. It's a sackable offence in a lot of jobs, and an action that is likely to disgust and offend a lot of people - everyone knows this to be the case.

And whoever said he needs a spell in the Priory, you couldn't be more right. I read some of the transcript from his cross exam, he is a mess. Apologized for calling them paedophiles- caveating it of course. I think the effects of divorce, getting sacked and all the other stupid stuff he's done plus midife has created this monster. Very very sad to read.

It’s called ‘baiting’ The individual will insult and aggravate in order to provoke a reaction. Then when he gets one, plays the victim to the gallery.
