How long is your school and nursery run in the morning ?

I leave the house at 7:45 and I'm not back until past 9 am.

It seems really long to me. All driving !

First I drop my son at a nearby nursery and then I do the bigger drive to my DD's preschool.

It's really tiring !

Just wanting to have a moan and understand if my school run is the norm ?

Takes me 1hr and 45 minutes, I don't drive, have to walk/ public transport. I have 2 schools to get to so pick one up at 2.30 and other at 3pm. Home to first school 1.5 miles, first school to second school 1.5 miles, second school to home 2 miles. Hate it

Gosh that's far away
surely there is one closer?
Thought most schools allocate spaces based on distance? Nursery is private so I get that's just your choice or lack of local availability but I'm thrown by the huge distances to school!
We walk leave 8.25 school gates at 8.45 they let them all through by 8.50 (depending on age 🙄) then it's a quicker walk home and I can be home logged on by 9.

About a 5 minute walk, 3 minutes when my 3 and 5 year old decide to take their bikes 🤣 then my jobs are generally within a 10/15minute walk/ run. I have my life planned around my kids and wouldn't change it 😊

Fifty minutes drive round trip.

I'm so used to it now, it doesn't bother me.

There are closer schools but I wanted the kids to go to a better school.

Leave at 7.50 and get home at 9.35 on a good day, and that’s by car! 😩

3 min walk to school, previously 3 min walk to nursery. We’re very fortunate; it adds hugely to our quality of life.

50 mins - just under 10 mins drive to school then park up away from school and walk up to school 1, then walk back and drop off other DC at school 2.

Current nursery run is ~5 mins each way in the car depending on the time. I leave early because the breakfast club times have changed so if i'm late it takes much longer to turn out the close. It's a 20 minute adult walk each way, about 40 to admire each leaf. The school run will be much shorter. The playground is at the back of my garden. I need a child-flap!

DDs are both at school now but when I had both the school run and nursery run it was:

Leave home at 7:45 to drop DD2 at nursery, it was close by but not walkable (winding country lanes with no footpath). Home by 8am with DD1 then back out the door at 8:30 to walk to school which is a 15 minute walk away so home just after 9.

I actually hated doing both as we had that random half hour between getting back from one drop off and leaving for the other but nursery started at 8am.

Now they're both at school I'm only out of the house for half an hour or so to do the school run which is great.
