…to think DH should know how old I am?!

Just that!

Together 15 years… and tonight he had to do the maths to work out my age.

I feel a little bit annoyed tbh! Surely it’s a really basic thing to know about your wife?!?!

I struggle with my own age sometimes!

Applesaarenttheonlyfruit · 10/11/2023 20:36

I barely know my own age, I’d not be offended

LizzieSiddal · 10/11/2023 20:37

I forget how old dh is and he’s the same age as me 😂

I really wouldn’t worry about it.

flowi · 10/11/2023 20:37

YANBU I really don’t understand anyone who forgets their age.

creativegoblin · 10/11/2023 20:38

Nahhhh. It's normal after many years. Chill.

fruitsalad87 · 10/11/2023 20:44

I had an argument with DD the other day about how old I was. She was insisting I was 36. I was adamant I was 34. She was correct.

gamerchick · 10/11/2023 20:47

I've been saying my son is a year younger than he is all year. I like gave birth to him. Brain boggles sometimes.

DappledThings · 10/11/2023 20:48

I forget my own age as well. I did it today. I was about to say I'm 44 then my head went, "no, 45. No, still 44". I don't always know it instinctively. DH is the same age as me for 10 months of the year but as I can't always be instantly sure of my own age I can't be sure of his either!

OuiOuiKitty · 10/11/2023 20:49

I've been 37 for the past two years nearly. Last year in my head I was 37, turns out I wasn't until this year.

Covetthee · 10/11/2023 20:50

lol a silly thing tbh.

as others have pointed out as well, i don’t even know my own age. Im 38 and in my head im stuck on 36 and forget every single time someone asks me out of the blue how old i am.

if thats the biggest issue you have with your husband you’re blessed

Shinyandnew1 · 10/11/2023 20:51

This seriously wouldn’t worry me. I thought I was a year younger than I actually was all last year!

rwalker · 10/11/2023 20:51

I thought I was a year older than I’m this year

I’ve spent the last year convinced I’m 37 as well. I’m not (quite) 🤣. I also confuse one son’s age and the other one’s birth date all the time. Numbers just float about in my head…

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 10/11/2023 20:52

I often age myself wrong, as well as dw and ds. I have my wedding anniversary date tattooed on me, but I still have to look to check how long its been. 😁

Bendysnap · 10/11/2023 20:54

I just had to count from my birth year to work out if I was 43 or 44

KissTheRains · 10/11/2023 20:54

Someone asked me my.kids age the other day... Not a bloody clue... I had to figure it out and took a few seconds..

ADHD executive functioning issues.

I wish my brain worked like yours but here we are!

You can Google it. Even the maths defeat me.

curaçao · 10/11/2023 20:56

I forget my own age

Busephalus · 10/11/2023 20:57

I get you might get a but 'fuzzy' about age, but surely your year of birth is imprinted in one's memory

AhBiscuits · 10/11/2023 20:59

Like some of the other posters, I often have to stop and think if asked my own age so this wouldn't bother me.

Yes. But then are you in the pre-birthday bit or not. That adds and takes away a year.

Then remembering what year it is now...

In the moment, that's a thing.

Tellmeallthestories · 10/11/2023 21:02

I have to work out my adult children's ages now when people ask me. It keeps changing...

Rjahdhdvd · 10/11/2023 21:02

I just asked my DH this and he had to pause to think as do I so I wouldn’t worry

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/11/2023 21:03

I only know DP's year of birth when he's wearing his football shirt I bought him last year. I always know the date, it's just the year that gets a bit vague.

He can't complain. He spent ten months thinking he was nearly 40 when he was only 38 and only realised when his Mum didn't send him a special 40th card that year.

ETA: I ensured that he never got the date of my birthday wrong after he thought the numbers were switched around one year.

'What's the Sky code?'

'My birthday'.

'....'

<eyebrows raised at him>

'Bugger'.
