Pride is only wrong if you think it is only to do with sex

Gifgirl · 07/11/2023 10:10

YABVVVVVVU

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/11/2023 10:10

It’s a cat and a rainbow. Doubt children will connect it to anything at all (unless an anti- parent points it out to them)

Bingbangbollox · 07/11/2023 10:11

You’re wrong. It’s absolutely wonderful to encourage tolerance and inclusivity from a young age.

What is unacceptable is homophobia and transphobia. The issues with gender recognition and erosion of women’s rights are not an excuse to spread intolerance and hatred of anyone.

Sailawaytocromer · 07/11/2023 10:15

YANBU. Small children are not trans and the label/idea shouldn’t be near them. Let them be children ffs. Anyone who’d like to tell me what a bigot I am, go ahead. I won’t be checking the thread.

I agree with you. Anyone that thinks otherwise is brainwashed.

Glad you're not coming back to read replies.

Bore off with your trans hate.

JazbayGrapes · 07/11/2023 10:18

I'd bin them and explain to the kids why

WandaWonder · 07/11/2023 10:18

I see a rainbow and a cat, I wonder if people are deliberately trying to find things to have tantrums over

LifeInTermsOfMusic · 07/11/2023 10:19

The trans/gender ideology is being pushed on to kids more and more so I’m disappointed, but not surprised, to see it in kids toys.

Gifgirl · 07/11/2023 10:19

Newphony · 07/11/2023 10:16

You spelt 'kind and compassionate' wrong.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 07/11/2023 10:19

YANBU. The trans pride flag is, imo, a political flag and one of personal (quasi religious imo) belief. It has no place in kids' stickers unless other political symbols or symbols of personal belief are also allowed.

justteanbiscuits · 07/11/2023 10:21

Could you post it to me? I'd love it for my laptop to show friends and colleagues that I care about them, support them and feel empathy.

Then be kind and compassionate with women and children. Al this "inclusivity" virtue signalling has gotten out of hand.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 07/11/2023 10:23

The colours are just colours unless the kids are told otherwise. Rainbow mythology didn't originate with gay pride. If you like, you can tell your DC about Noah's Ark and that the rainbow symbolises God's promise to the world, and the other colours are a modern addition to symbolise all God's people.

It can be what you make of it.

JazbayGrapes · 07/11/2023 10:24

How would a child associate this sticker with trans or LGBTQ issues unless they were already aware (or if an angry parent snatched them away )?

So what is the point of marketing those particular symbols to small children then?

itsfinallytime · 07/11/2023 10:24

I agree that the trans flag has come to symbolise an anti woman political position. It has no place in children's marketing.

Not wanting children to be politicised has nothing to do with hating trans people.

Are we seriously asking our children to 'be kind' even when we know it harms children, especially female ones?

Fionaville · 07/11/2023 10:25

Another example of the trans flag being pushed on kids. It's completely unacceptable and I would bin it immediately.

there was no "hate" in that post. The problem with the "inclusivity is fab" brigade is the immediate overreaction to anyone being less than 1000% includive and fawning over rainbow flags.

Having said that: I think the sticker is ok for small children, and if they ask about it (is that likely?) it's ok to say that it represents inclusivity and being kind to people who may be different to us.

Haydenn · 07/11/2023 10:26

If the stickers included other flags and symbols so kids can have a discussion about kindness, showing support and beliefs then I am pro. If it’s just a design then I don’t think it’s appropriate. I really don’t like kids being used to show support for things that they don’t understand- if a kid wears a poppy at school for example then I think they should understand it is to remember the soldiers-not just we wear a flower.
if they want to wear an EU sticker and they know it is to show support for Europe then fine. If they want to wear a rainbow flag and it is accompanied by a little explanation fine.
other I think it’s a bit inappropriate

TheCadoganArms · 07/11/2023 10:27

Several years ago I would not have raised an eyebrow. Sadly trans activism has since morphed into a borderline cult and a small scratch beneath the sparkly 'be kind' rainbows reveals a very ugly intolerant ideology that should not be anywhere near kids.

Don't be ridiculous

LifeInTermsOfMusic · 07/11/2023 10:28

Brainwashing starts with small things, so a trans flag on some toys may seem like nothing to some, but it’s really fucking creepy when you realise what’s happening to kids.

Trans ideology is anything but kind and compassionate. It damages women, kids, particularly autistic ones and it’s homophobic.
