Yikes - that's awful. You are definitely not being unreasonable. I'd keep my children well clear!

(Fortunately mine are very GC - they would never be unkind to anyone indoctrinated into this ideology but they steer well clear!)

How would a child associate this sticker with trans or LGBTQ issues unless they were already aware (or if an angry parent snatched them away )?

So what is the point of marketing those particular symbols to small children then?

I don't know because I'm not in the sticker business. One thing is certain they won't catch 'gay' or 'trans' off a colourful sticker.

So, yours haven’t been indoctrinated at all? 🤣

YANBU. The trans pride flag is, imo, a political flag and one of personal (quasi religious imo) belief. It has no place in kids' stickers unless other political symbols or symbols of personal belief are also allowed.

I agree.

whitewingdove · 07/11/2023 10:32

@Bingbangbollox No I am equating the "male sexual rights movement" that is behind trans ideology as pushing a pro kink, pro-MAP agenda. I also find as a lesbian myself that the trans movement is highly homophobic.

Don't be ridiculous

I'm not.

Girls forced to share toilets and changing rooms with male children who say they are trans girls.

Girls forced to compete against male children in sport.

Girls who do not conform to stereotypically 'girl' things being led to believe that they are non-binary or not really girls. Some of whom then go on to breast bind and have double mastectomies.

So please do come back and tell me what 'being kind' does to benefit female children because I genuinely can't see a single benefit?

HowardBoom · 07/11/2023 10:33

@MrsSkylerWhite not into thinking humans can change sex, no 😊

Because the children know what the trans flag is. Trans/nonbinary characters have flooded Disney movies and shows. There are literally LGBTQ+ categories on all the streaming services. Schools have either gained or are working towards the 'Rainbow flag award' So most children age 4+ know what the trans flag is.

you were the one to bring up gay.

Thats's what you took from that post? Fuck sake.

You spelt 'kind and compassionate' wrong.

Funny how it's always women who have to be kind and compassionate, never men. The men can do what they like apparently 🤔

TerfTalking · 07/11/2023 10:38

I would bin them, complain to the product owner and never buy it again. Call me what the fuck you like, this is indoctrination from a young age.

are you certain they aren’t “special edition” ones? They may be supposed to be LGBT+ ones - some adults like squishmallows too. Hard to tell without seeing the rest of the pack.

I suspect the only reason a child under 10ish would think it was a gay/trans sticker anyway is if someone actually pointed that out… otherwise it just looks like a colourful sticker?

I honestly think sometimes people that make the biggest fuss about LGBT being “everywhere” is the bigoted people. Most people just accept gay/trans people exist, and carry on with their own lives… but this is MN after all so transphobia dressed up as feminism seems to be the norm.

This isn't how brainwashing works. Or cult indoctrination, either.

DistrictAndCircle · 07/11/2023 10:42

It’s a cat and a rainbow.

There’s literally a rainbow in the sky as I type this, and yet I’m not marching off down to my kids’ school to demand that they close all the curtains in case my DD comes home telling me she’s a trans man.

So they were already aware then which was in my post and the stickers haven't changed anything. I really don't see a problem.

My DD became gender critical all by herself at age 8, because she was sick of all her favourite shows/movies having "Trans and non binos" in. She highlighted the issue to me! And she's not alone in thinking that way.
So why should kids who just want some cute stickers, get a trans flag?! Would it be OK if they got a tory or Labour flag in their stickers? Because the trans flag is as political.

TheCadoganArms · 07/11/2023 10:43

CaptainMyCaptain · 07/11/2023 10:31

I don't know because I'm not in the sticker business. One thing is certain they won't catch 'gay' or 'trans' off a colourful sticker.

They are being exposed, subtly, to an increasingly homophobic, anti woman ideology that heavily promotes the idea that otherwise happy gender non conforming kids who probably still believe in Father Christmas are 'trans' or 'born in the wrong body'.

JeezWhatNext · 07/11/2023 10:46

I think it depends what other stickers there are. If there are other ideologies on offer then I guess it’s ok but odd.

Ostryga · 07/11/2023 10:47

I’m bored to tears of women being constantly told to ‘be kind’ to men in dresses and shit lipstick.

Trans flags do not need to be anywhere near children’s toys. It’s not ‘unkind’ to think so.
