Gym response to being flashed in ladies changing room?

A male entered the female changing room and flashed at me late last Saturday night. I was alone and naked. I reported to the gym who have said that they checked the cameras three times and can’t see a male entering. It must be on there somewhere it happened, I’m raging about it and the response. I want him identified so I can report to police.

I would message them telling them not to overwrite the cctv for that day - if they say they already have, kick up a stink, ask for their data retention policy etc - most systems only manually overwrite after 28 days.

Where are you? Let's organise a protest outside the gym?

I’d certainly love to know which branch it is! I was in the ladies changing room last week and someone walked past me and my mate who was well over 6ft. I never really looked at them but did clock they were very tall and assumed it was a woman, but my friend said it was a bloke.

Please go and make a stink with the police. Remind them of Wayne Couzins.

Police OP. This may seem "low level" but these offenders always escalate.

Go higher. If the duty manager is ignoring you, contact the owner. If I owned that gym, I'd like to know it was being run responsibly.

What actually happened when you reported to police OP?

Have you been in to the local station to make a statement?

I reported via 101 online form got confirmation and reference number but not heard anything back. I emailed general manager of branch to advise I have informed police and a request to retain cctv but nothing from them either. It’s just really weird like I am completely invisible

Ah that's crap OP. I'm a DL member too, I love the gym and it's really important to me after having cancer, but I'd be really put off going if that happened at ours.

I think you'd be better pressuring the police rather than the gym.

Given organisations deny men have raped women on their premises, and the police's attitude in general, it's not remotely a reflection on you that they're trying to sweep this under the carpet.

You’re not being dramatic. Flashing is sexual harassment and “entry level” sexual assault. It’s serious.

The gym should be taking it very seriously.

I’d be leaving the gym and telling them why. Chain Gyms nowadays are very reliant on membership after Covid. And DL gyms are not cheap!

Not to mention plenty of police see rape and flashing as a fun hobby instead of a crime 🙄

No update from police. Nothing atall

gym have back tracked and now found the footage but can’t tell me any more than that. No update or calls from them since telling me they had found it

not sure what I was expecting to be honest
