I have had a shite week, so could do with some smiles and happy things.

So, dog owners, please post pics of your pooches, and tell me a bit about them.
It can be current dogs, or ones that have gone over the bridge. Maybe any from your childhood.

Also, please share a funny or embarrassing tale about them.

Here is mine. She is called Loopy, and is a 13 year old rescue greyhound. She was never raced (I adopted her at 4 months old).
She likes to shake her toys, and often ends up throwing them. She once threw a pair of socks and it hit the back of my sister's head 😂

Let us fill this thread with lovely dog pics and happy memories.

Dogs can be dangerous though, and there are a lot of dodgy owners. Pretending the issue isn’t there doesn’t help.

honestly, there are so many other threads you can embrace your fears & hysterics. This is about celebrating lovely dogs.

Loving all the pics of these wonderful dogs❤️

Lolathebatdog · 05/11/2023 22:29

Your dogs are all gorgeous and very very good boys/girls. Please give every single one of them a belly rub and a nose boop for me!

This was our beautiful idiot Lola who we lost a couple of years ago now. She was full of mischief and always had us laughing. The sweetest temperament you’d ever hope for. We couldn’t contemplate getting another dog for a while and then the universe gifted us a lovely cat so we do have a small furry friend and we dogsit for friends and family to get our fix.

Archie, my 4yr romanian rescue. Adorable with way too much attitude. Didn't like the fireworks tonight but was ok once we wrapped in a throw and snuggled him in between us on the sofa. We've had him nearly 3 years and he's never noticed them until this year and he's not been impressed

My gorgeous floofy rescue boy

He's chewed up all the table and chair legs, 2 TV remotes and at least 3 wallets but we love him still.

We pretty much got kicked out of dog training class (even though it was a special one for rescue dogs). The first half he spent trying to get other dogs to play with him the 2nd he gave up and went to sleep in the middle of the floor. He can do all the commands if he's in the mood and he feels it's worth his while but he is a stubborn git.

Recall was a laugh and a half. As soon as I let him off he made a run for the exit door and could not be retrieved from the car park where he ran around pissing up stuff. The trainer said to go out of sight and he'll miss you and come to find you. Err no. He did not miss me. Not a bit.

The only thing he was really good at was stay. He excels at lying in one place not moving. If that one space is the sofa so much the better.

He's happy and enthusiastic, outgoing, playful and a character and I (probably) wouldn't have him any other way.

My dog Grubble! She's three now.

She's quite the diva. She has her own chair at the kitchen table and will bark once for it to be untucked for her and then once again if her cushion isn't on it.

Lovely seeing some dog positivity 😊

My 2 boys, they are now 3 and 20 months. My gorgeous one eyed pug who barks at everything but is the snuggliest boy who I swear is part human.

My alaskan malamute/czechoslovakian wolfdog cross can be a total dickhead with chewing stuff, is scared of everything but has the loveliest temperament.

My beautiful Lottie, who sadly isn't with us anymore.

She was beautiful, funny and always a little bit grumpy!

This is Pepper, my Border Collie. She came to me as a rescue who was crazy anxious on walks and reacted to any person or dog that walked near her. She's now happy and chilled and plays with her ball for miles on long walks with me. She's loving and funny and my kids adore her but as you can see here neither her or my house stays clean for long... 😆

This is my 6 month old yorkiepoo, Nala. She’s needy as fuck but also hilarious. She’s recently started doing agility and she’s picking it up really fast, she’s a clever little thing.

Murphy (looking at a duck) and Maddi.

Both over the bridge now, Murphy charged on and thought later. Maddi walked around puddles and once picked up a toy accidentally.

One of our dogs is blind, The book ,'My dog is blind but lives life to the full' by Nicole Horsky was really useful

Timewentfast · 05/11/2023 22:46

My boy. He's 10 now - had him since 9 weeks old. He's bossy, stubborn, spoilt, funny, happy and loves to chase cats and squirrels. He also loves digging at the beach, his ball and sheepskin rugs.

Love to all these beauties

Oh what lovely doogs!
This is Willow, aka Dingo, Wilbur, Window, Asbo… She’s a Heinz 57 rescue from Hungary and around 4 yrs old.
Likes long canicross runs, food, scritches and sunbathing. Not so keen on small furries especially squirrels and cats, baths, vets and other dogs unless they’re one of her special friends.
Her current trick is sitting on her hind legs to look over the frosted panes I installed on the garden windows 🙄

My three reprobates
Two were rescues and they are the sweetest boys
The one we actually bought as a puppy is the devil incarnate, lovely if she likes you but if not then lucky for you she only weighs 2.5 kg
( but yes she does sleep in the bed, usually under the duvet)

Such a lovely thread and such beautiful dogs. I know I'll be coming back to this thread over and over whenever I'm having a bad day because how can you not smile when you see so much cuteness in one place💚

hiredandsqueak · 05/11/2023 23:54

The only way to get our dog to go out for a pee when it's cold, dark, wet or raining is to sing the proclaimers "I'm gonna be" otherwise she just sits and refuses. Lyrics now include "I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the dog who goes out for a piss"

Ineedwinenow · 06/11/2023 00:01

Total outing as my girl is all over my socials ( and this picture)

This miserable shite is Daisy! She’s only lovely on her terms the rest of the time she’s grumpy, pretty sure she thinks she’s got a tough life and sighs an awful lot ( just like me) I love this furry monster so much!

What a lovely thread! 😊it’s really cheered me up, I’m a bit low and struggling to sleep but seeing all the lovely dogs has taken my mind off things. Thanks so much ❤

This is my five year-old Murray River retriever giving me that look when I'm closing the car boot to go shopping.

He's a wonderful dog who will walk and retrieve balls endlessly.
