Because I have cut my thumb, opening some catfood, and it really, really, really hurts

I think I can manage without going to the emergency department though, but I am going to moan for quite a long time 😁

I bought some brioche hot dog rolls... and was saving them for this weekend but realised that they expired soon after purchase :-( and I have run out of ciabatta. I think I might die of bread withdrawal.

Cotswoldbee · 03/11/2023 22:54

Rain is forecast for much of the day tomorrow and I know Ddogs will not want to go out so a day on the sofa (under a fleecy blanket) is scheduled for us all. Ddog2 has just got a snuggle-sack which she LOVES so my 1st world problem is this..........
Does Ddog2 spend the day under the fleecy blanket with Ddog1 and myself or do I let her stay IN her snuggle-sack OUTSIDE the blanket?

ilovemyspace · 03/11/2023 23:00

@ADHDGURL I had planned to get drunk on Bailey's and Vodka....

Is this Bailey's and vodka together, separately or one after the other #askingforafriend #butImayneedtotryit!

wideawakeinthemiddleofthenightagain · 03/11/2023 23:00

DC's sport event on Sunday has just been cancelled so we thought we'd go out for a pub lunch. Our two favourite places for Sunday lunch are fully booked. Do we try somewhere new, go somewhere we have been before but isn't as good or come up with an entirely different plan for the day?

Lemsipper · 03/11/2023 23:01

Goodness! Are we still using the term “first world”

sofasofa42 · 03/11/2023 23:06

Mine is the best and it's been a problem since I lived in the Middle East and had a " maid", now in considerably reduced circumstances (😂) and my cleaner of twice a month does the same- winds the cord so tight round my hair dryer that when I go to dry my hair this annoying twizzly cord pings on me and just makes the experience AWFUL.

Irony being that now this annoys me more than the fact the cleaner today ( very accidentally) smashed my iPad. I got over that quickly. But I went to blow dry my hair and had residual, pent up rage.

It's the small things that get a 1st world woman I guess .

Obviously, since a lot of people have already posted.

There is an event on locally which I think the kids will love (bonfire, fairground rides, fireworks etc). But I couldn't justify the cost of tickets - £60 for a family of 4.

DH has been working this week at what turns out to be the organisers house, he's given us free tickets. But now the weather is looking shit, and I don't know if I want to spend tomorrow afternoon/evening in a muddy field with 2 kids, who will inevitably moan that they are cold/wet despite me being prepared with coats, gloves, hats etc.

I'm not sure if DH has told the kids about it yet, I'm inclined to give the tickets away if the weather forecast doesn't pick up 🙈

recklessgran · 03/11/2023 23:18

I'm worrying about how I'm going to have time tomorrow to do my elderly mothers grocery shopping, clean the house from top to bottom including stripping and changing the bed and get all the laundry up to date. I then need to pack and get to bed by 9.00pm as we have an early start on Sunday due to going to the Canaries for a weeks holiday. All this is my own fault as I spent today shopping and dining out in the West End with lovely adult DD number 3 when in fact I should have cracked on with some of the jobs and given myself a head start.

regularmumnotacoolmum · 03/11/2023 23:20

My husband gave me a £5k budget to buy a treat this weekend and I don't know what to buy. 🫣

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 04/11/2023 12:43

Tickets are on sale Mon morning for an act I have wanted to see for 20 years, actually in my city!!! 8am sale so I could get up extra early have kids stuff done etc.. but I just remembered Mon is the day I booked a carpet cleaner and have to bring my dog to a dog day care as she will be terrified of the man and machine, she gets diarrhoea when stressed, which is why I have booked the carpet cleaner in the first place after a year of 'accidents'. The one bloody morning, I never organise anything for the morning. I won't have time to drop the dog and be back for 8.

squashi · 04/11/2023 12:47

My Pilates class has been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

JackGrealishsCalves · 04/11/2023 13:06

I want a new nest of wooden tables for my living room that are not self assembely without having to pay the price of a 3rd world debt!

HelpingJands · 04/11/2023 13:14

I ordered grated cheese on my supermarket delivery and received a block of cheese as a substitution. So now I'll have to grate it myself.

RosesAndHellebores · 04/11/2023 13:20

Contemplating whether to spend £35 in M&S for the Christmas beauty adventure box which has two things in it, full size, that I really like but don't particularly need and weighing it against having a heap of sh1t. £35 would go on stuff I don't really need but is good to have: pyjamas for dd, tights, bedsocks, wrapping paper, etc.

Meanwhile I am in a not hot enough bubble bath because for some unfathomable reason the hot water has run out.

StonwEd · 04/11/2023 13:25

I’m on my third day of a 5 day trip to Barcelona. I love it so much here I’m already sad about leaving on Monday 😌
I’ve been here before as well 😅

EspressoMacchiato · 04/11/2023 13:29

It’s lashing rain here today so I thought I’d treat myself to a bubble bath. The bathroom window is velux so the ASMR of the rain is really relaxing. I’ve run the bath and sat back with the latest Strike novel and my new candle lit and the rain has stopped 😞

AntonFeckoff · 04/11/2023 13:32

I’m lying in the bath but the lavender and geranium bath salts didn’t dissolve properly so they’re digging into my arse.

AntonFeckoff · 04/11/2023 13:33

Oooh snap @EspressoMacchiato. The rain has just stopped here too Sad

I can’t find the belt for my dressing gown. It really annoys me

Maybe order curtain cord with tassels (Amazon?). They'll probably arrive before you find your dressing gown cord. 🌹

Zorya · 03/11/2023 22:12

Me too. 😔

That’s just the worst 😞it all flapping around you instead of all nice and snug 😐

toddlermom9 · 04/11/2023 17:43

My brain is on the brink of explosion, trying to complete a 15,000 word dissertation alongside parenting a 3 year old.

Super lucky to have my child and to be able to continue my university studies, but it is HARD.

Projectme · 04/11/2023 17:52

Aposterhasnoname · 03/11/2023 22:15

I’m going away for the weekend tomorrow and the leather jacket I want to wear in the evening will make my bag too heavy to carry round till we can check into the hotel.

😂😂😂 I'd say you win with this!

Projectme · 04/11/2023 17:58

My DH poured me a glass of wine, forgot to bring it into the lounge from the kitchen, sat down on sofa with cat on his lap so I have to now get up, walk to the kitchen to get my wine. Can't displace beloved cat. 😤

GingerLiberalFeminist · 04/11/2023 18:16

My robovac needs charging before it can hoover the floor so I have to wait to sit and watch it work while I have a cup of tea.
