changed their knicker styles? The style I have bought for years no longer exists. Have bought underwear from M&S forever, but have had to shop elsewhere.

Sorry. That should have been the gusset on the new pants was narrower. Much narrower.

I'm sure I saw on Sewing Bee that the little bow is a hangover from the days when women wore laced up stays. They were tied with a bow at the front.

I wear a lot of Brazilians and it's not that easy to tell the front from the back with them so the bow is useful.

JobStresserxo YES!! They discontinued mine (low rise garter thongs) a couple of years ago, fortunately l managed to buy about three multi packs on ebay, which l hope will last for a long time, the ones l already had have.
So annoying when they do this!

Yes the coffee is now from a machine in our M and S and paper cups! What were they thinking? Honestly it’s nowhere near as nice!
Also they have had the same boring gluten free sandwiches for ever! Just because we are ceoliac doesn’t mean we want the same old stuff to eat year after year! Have some imagination M and S we are trying to support you!

YANBU, nothing new though. I'd been buying their front fastening bras for years and then they stopped selling them - that was in the 90s!

Also annoyed when they changed their knicker sizes - use to do single sizes, i.e. 8, 10, 12 etc., but then changed them to 8-10 and then 12-14. I'm in between and neither fit properly.

Yes, I always wear midis but couldn’t find any on their website this year. None of the others work for me, the shorts go down too far on my legs at the front. Think I’m going to have to buy Sloggis or one of those expensive European brands, but their sizing is unreliable.
M&S trouser shapes don’t work for me this year either, they’ve gone back to tighter waists and bigger thighs. It’s like going back to the 70’s when the M&S woman was expected to have an hourglass figure.

Their gussets have been getting narrower for years, and the same width on larger sizes as the tiny ones. Absolutely hopeless.

I find the gusset bit between the legs too narrow on these, sanitary towels hang over the sides!

Was in my local one yesterday and happened to look at a thong. Oh my goodness the size of the gusset!! No more than a centimetre wide, does that not get gobbled up? Well it would on me anyway.

Corsets are laced at the back, not the front. If you wrap the laces around your waist and tie them at the front, you risk damaging the corset.

Corsets and stays aren't quite the same, I think.

Only wealthy women had a corset that was laced at the back, because they had a maid to dress them. (Corsets developed from stays, IIRC. A sort of underwear evolution)

Us plebs had to lace our own stays at the front.

I've lost patience with M&S too - since when is 5'6" short for a UK woman? But I solved the knicker problem when I discovered Innersy mid-rise on hated Amazon. I bought a pack of six almost two years ago, promptly bought another in case they stopped making them, and they're still as good as new. I'm sure other sources are available, but here's the link:

I'm an M&S 12 in jeans and their 12 size fits a treat.

I thought everyone knew their knickers had been rubbish for years? Just before Covid I bought some nude glossy tights and was surprised at just how rubbish they were. Quality has really gone down and when Primark are better for tights that’s saying something.

I used to love the individual knickers you could buy in M&S, usually about a fiver a pair but you could get 4 for 3 and they were in great colours and styles. Now the individual pairs are really basic and flimsy and the only other option is a pack of knickers. I hate buying in packs, I like to choose each pair and get different colours. Packs always sneak basic white pairs in which turn grey first wash.

however I do approve of the new coffee machines, much quicker to press a button than faff around with frothing the milk, grinding the beans etc. Costa should take note.

They stopped doing the pants I like in a 3 pack of nude. Now they do 3 packs of black which I want, but nude only come with white and another colour. I only want black and nude.
