Is that said with pride or disgust?

I think it comes second to the PJs in hotels thread🙈

Porny

For Christmas last year, DP bought me a big bundle of gym clothes. Among them was a a pair of GymShark scrunched bums like this: https://uk.gymshark.com/products/gymshark-adapt-pattern-seamless-leggings-forest-green-rich-green-aw23

I like Sweaty Betty 'bum sculpting' leggings so he'd assumed these were the same concept.
When I opened them, I thought DP had ripped them and then attempted to repair them with terrible sewing skills.

I had to Google scrunch bum leggings. I laughed and laughed and vowed not to wear them ever. But then I tried them on and, TBH, they do look good. They're actually quite comfortable too. Reader: I wear them in the regular gym clobber rotation. Apologies.

Really nice leggings except for the fact they make you look like you have an elongated anus.

The scrunch is just not needed.

Bluevelvetsofa · 25/10/2023 21:40

I’m surprised no one has yet said that women should be allowed to wear whatever they want and that they are not responsible for how men view them.

I agree though, that the leggings and the shorts are utterly hideous. Especially when worn with a crop top. It really does look as though they’re going to stand on a street corner.

Puffwiththegreeneyes · 25/10/2023 21:38

I like them. I'd look absolutely horrendous in them, but I think if you've got a particular type of bum they look great. I also like the tiny shorts as well - again, not for my middle-aged saggy arse, but on others they can look great.

Out of interest, what sort of bum do you think they would look good on? The google searches I saw had them on Kardashian type bottoms. I know that look is all the rage these days, but I personally am not a fan.

They’re just awful, awful things. I don’t know when this trend started but it’s one I just can’t get into. I actually looked at a pair online and in the description it said that they should only be worn with thongs.

So you’re going to the gym with thongs on and leggings in your arse. I feel like one of the only women in the gym who still wear standard gym leggings😂 I don’t get the point either. Is it to bring attention to womens ‘gym gains’ or just to show their glutes?

I think its both - the idea that if you've got gym gains, you'll have an amazing arse which these leggings will flaunt.

Thepúca · 25/10/2023 21:40

I think they make the wearer look like a fuckin eejit. Just my two cents.

shockwaze · 25/10/2023 21:29

It's an odd concept though you must admit

It’s no odder than crop tops or push up bras etc.

Toned, peach shaped bums. Not Kardashian extreme arses, but a nice peachy bum.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 25/10/2023 21:42

I don’t want to Google this in the same way I never want to watch ‘A Serbian Film’ or ‘Martyrs’.

They are indecent. I was in Tesco with my elderly father and a woman with a rather ample bum wearing them bent right over in front of my Dad. He said ‘Good God’ . I thought he was going have a stroke, as in a medical episode not literally. I didn’t know where put my face. Arse cracks need to be covered up!!

“Indecent!” 😂😂😂 I agree. I hope they wear them just the once and they get a good wash…

They’re meant to make you look like you have round bum cheeks.

But it helps if you already have round bum cheeks and doesn’t usually work on those with horrible bums.

There was a video showing the making of the advert of these or similar to these and all of the models in the video were wearing rounded bum pads.

Middleagedmeangirls · 25/10/2023 21:44

It's an age thing. we all dislike what the next generation favours.

My mum was young in the fifties /sixties and her mum hated her big skirts and back combed hair . I was young in the seventies/eighties and my parents hated punk styles, permed big hair and shoulder pads. My own kids were young in the noughties and I wasn't crazy about the emo look they favoured.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Crop tops or bras are definitely more hygienic than these could potentially be though - while I am not keen on the look, it's more how they are essentially flossing your butthole area that bothers me. Also doesn't sweat (etc) escape onto gym equipment more than with standard leggings/shorts and pants underneath? Of course women can wear what they choose, but some of us are struggling to understand what makes people choose these!

MinnieL · 25/10/2023 21:44

KStockHERO · 25/10/2023 21:40

If you have a nice bum, it’ll show regardless! I don’t see why people can’t just wear standard leggings instead of these ones that instantly grab your attention. It’s OTT even though I do agree that we can all wear whatever we want

VanityDiesHard · 25/10/2023 21:45

'Not Kardashian extreme arses, but a nice peachy bum.'

That makes sense. I will admit that I really don't like the Kardashian look at all, but I came of age in the late nineties/early aughts when we thought Jennifer Lopez was bottom heavy. I spent my late teens and early twenties in compression tights and doing exercises to make my bottom look smaller and trimmer, so the 2010s were quite the shock.

Franklin2000 · 25/10/2023 21:45

They remind me of this from man down. I bought some by accident (just thought leggings were leggings, how wrong I was) they look utterly ridiculous and they are the most uncomfortable things I’ve worn. How anyone squats in them is beyond me.

I totally agree with this. They just look a bit tacky and grubby to me.

WideLegPant · 25/10/2023 21:46

Can you get ones with eyeballs printed on the buttocks? Surely Wish or somewhere do them? You could have great fun with optical illusions on these...

Daisy62 · 25/10/2023 21:46

Gosh! The ones with the puckering - like the most gigantic bum hole ever! Had no idea these were a thing. Don’t think they would flatter my tired old butt.

BotterMon · 25/10/2023 21:46

OMG is that what they are? Went into my local town earlier this week as had an appointment and saw women walking around with their arses on show. I'm usually in the office during the week and never go to shops thanks to t'internet. I thought they'd all been to the gym but then realised it was 'fashun'.

Makes them look cheap imo. Why bother with clothes?

Millybob · 25/10/2023 21:48

I was walking down the street today behind a young neighbour - let's just say I see the pizza boxes spilling out of her bins - and I wondered if she has any conception of the view from behind? Or does she just not care? A part of me kind of admires her for having the confidence not to give a fuck about looking so trashy.

Bbq1 · 25/10/2023 21:49

Vile things and the women wearing them usually have a humongous arse. Looks horrible.

Restingbitch2 · 25/10/2023 21:49

Cost £20. £19 worth stuck up your arse crack.

Just dreadful.

cocksstrideintheevening · 25/10/2023 21:50

They're awful but not as bad as the primark all in ones that have fanny flaps
