Haha, there is a class divide for sure. It's not all teenagers by any means. In my grammar school noone would be seen dead wearing these, highly fashionable kids no dress code, they wear normal leggings and joggers. The FE college on the other hand, maybe 70% wear them.
Possibly linked to thinking your body and male attention are more important, versus your brain.
A pp said they don't go up your arse, so are they all padding with a fake crease on the outside and not their bum at all? As how could you see a defined crack going in an inch at least if they don't go between the cheeks? Doesn't make any sense.
Also they don't look good on anyone they look like the person wearing them thinks of themselves only as a sexual object surely, which generally is not a good thing. The type to have bleach blonde hair push up bra and fake eyelashes, ie doesn't like what they really look like / has very low self esteem.

It makes perfect sense and it's not a difficult concept. They are smooth and normal on the inside, and on the outside there's ruching, and sometimes padding, on the seam to give it that exaggerated bum effect. Ruching and padding create false depth; that's literally the aesthetic.

I'm surprised that this flummoxes someone who claims to be so proud of using one's brain.

Bleugh. Suitable only for attention seekers and sex workers..😗

I was just going to add to my previous post a few back that it is def a class divide and also where I live altho a v wealthy area it’s possible the young(ish) women are legit sex workers who live here or coming to the area deliberately on the prowl at least. My area used to be a red light district now gentrified but we also get high traffic tourists as well as general show offs who are maybe hoping a model agency or porn producer is gonna approach them, who knows.

I only have one word: thrush !!

TheLonelyGoatTurd · 26/10/2023 13:41

But you can see two distinct halves, it’s got to be going somewhere.

It's ruching and sometimes padding. It creates false depth along the outer part of the seam where it's gathered. Go have a look at a pair, you'll see what I mean.

I agree they look absolutely ridiculous but they don't go up your bum. The shape would never hold if they did. If you're really curious, and it's clear a lot of posters are, give yourself a wedgie and check out how it looks, especially as you move. It's completely different.

They're also not the collapse of society. They're just the latest ugly trend that we'll all be laughing at in ten years' time. Did you know those stupid trousers with Juicy written across the arse are still in? I had no idea, but I saw some girls wearing them the other day.

I have just returned from the Gym and an exercise class in Brixton, territory of the hip and cool of S London, and can report that not one person was wearing these travesties of taste. I have never seen anyone in that gym wearing them.

i don’t think they are that popular in S London. The “fashion girls” don’t wear them.

yes, they aren’t fashion - just a horrible trend.

Jumping in here to say I’ve seen many iterations of these things and the ones the youngsters are wearing this last few years are definitely elasticated deliberately down the bum crack so as to pull the fabric deep into the crack. Some of them look incredibly uncomfortable and I don’t think they even wear g-strings under them.

They don’t look padded to me, altho I believe you that there may well be some that are. They also cut into the groin and make a horrible camel toe.

There’s been padded panties on Dalston Market stall since many decades as a large backside is attractive to many people but those ones you wear under clothing to look natural.

WinterDeWinter · 26/10/2023 17:09

Hold on - these are definitely going up inside the crack?

WinterDeWinter · 26/10/2023 17:10

Ah x-post with @JFT

They are padded to fuck and gathered to make it look even deeper. The ruching is going between the pads.

Boomboom22 · 26/10/2023 17:13

So they don't even show off your real bum? Like fake nails and eyelashes then. 🙄

bombastix · 26/10/2023 17:17

@Boomboom22 - they are padded arse pants. Eventually I suspect we will move to arsekini when summer comes

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/10/2023 17:20

IMO they’re lovely - if you happen to be an exhibitionist.

They don't even look natural most of the time! The idea is to give the appearance of a round, big but pert arse, that itself being pretty unusual. And in my view they pretty much always look fake.

Honestly, give yourself a wedgie and check out how it looks. Walk around for a bit in it. It's probably not the most beautiful sight in the world (definitely not on me) but it looks nothing like these bloody hideous things. That's just not what wedgies look and move like.

Diamondcurtains · 26/10/2023 17:30

Agree they’re disgusting. I can’t get with the trend of great big fake arses either. 🤷

I live in a "naice" area lol surrounded by ancient woodlands. The WI, the church and neighbourhood watch are outraged that this woodland is being used for dogging lol 😄

Perhaps this clobber is good for that...🥴

HazardLights · 26/10/2023 17:52

Somehow the fact that they’re padded to simulate deeper arse crack definition, does not make them less vulgar 😂

Of course not, they're fucking hideous.

They're not the end of the world, though.

Well yes, obviously. It would be a bit weird if anybody suggested they were. It does give us more options for describing that stuff though. It’s in the padded arsecrack of nowhere. The sweaty padded arsecrack of the world.

itsmyp4rty · 26/10/2023 18:09

Hideous. Just hideous.

There's a 40 year old slim mum of 4 at my child's school who wears the waffle tik tok leggings...I don't need to see your snatch or your bum cheeks, but it away love!

Edited

I’m not prudish at all and I find them vulgar. I am quite frankly sick of seeing arse crevices and labias.

See, this is what all leggings look like to me, when worn without a long top. They all show too much. This is brightly coloured, but turn it dark blue or black and it's just a darker coloured version of exactly the same contours. I truly don't understand how leggings can be so popular when this is what the fuckers look like. I hate them.

Scrunch bum ones are egregiously ugly because they just take it up to 100, but even ordinary ones have always looked like shit to me. Like you put on tights then forgot to get dressed.
