Would be such a shame not to continue the discussion.

reassure me of what?

You said scaremongering. What is it that has been said to reassure you there is nothing to be concerned about with Labour?

verdantverdure · 25/10/2023 21:12

@Iloveshoes123

61 Tory MPs voted against aligning Northern Ireland's abortion laws with the rest of the U.K. 190 abstained.

It was the Tories who tried to reduce the upper limit for abortion in 2008, and who voted against buffer zones around abortion clinics in 2019.

The Tories have done nothing to shore up women's abortion rights since Roe vs Wade was overturned.

British women have no right to seek an abortion.

Abortion itself is illegal.

Doctors are allowed to provide one if two doctors conclude that the pregnancy would hurt the woman or her family’s physical or mental health more than a termination would. Otherwise, abortion remains a crime in Britain.

What has Labour said that is concerning?

I have not seen any policies or motions on this issue but maybe you can direct me

Okay but where have they said they will change the current law, do they have a policy to do this?
Also, are labour going to make abortion law more liberal?
What is the difference between the 2 parties policies?

Labour has not said anything that concerns me so no need to reassure me.

Now back to you, what has Labour said they are planning to do?

If your concern is women's rights particularly related to single sex sport and rights to single sex spaces I guess you would be concerned that the vast majority of labour MPs believe TWAW and women can have a penis.
Yes fair enough on policy they have dropped self id.

So nothing. Ok same here

Nothing has reassured me either.

But they have not said anything on single sex spaces and single sex sport.

You said they will go full steam ahead, ahead with what exactly?

Yes this.

Also increased ease of transition and GRC

Desire to ‘take public with them’ Ie get women to trust it’ll be fine, based on spin but no change

Where are getting the 'vast majority' ? Do you have a list of names?

But you still can't tell me what they have said what their policies, ideas are.

How have the Tories been protecting women for the last 13 years?

Of course not. This thread’s a fact free zone and when you post some they’re ridiculed.

EasternStandard · 25/10/2023 21:25

Greater ease of transition for GRC

And status quo with female certificate for males in single sex spaces

Who’s promised that? A link would be nice.

EasternStandard · 25/10/2023 21:28

Google Labour and easier GRC you’ll get it

Don’t people read up?

verdantverdure · 25/10/2023 21:32

@Iloveshoes123

As far as I know Labour MPs didn't attend the National Conservatism Conference funded by the anti-abortion Edmund Burke Foundation think tank.

There are no firm policies until there are manifestos

but Labour said they would table an amendment onto the Tories U.K. Bill of Rights legislation to enshrine women's right to seek abortion into law for all women in the U.K. like it is since 2019 in Northern Ireland.

Tory Dominic Raab said it wasn't necessary and Tory Danny Kruger argued against women's bodily autonomy saying there was "another body" involved.

That isn’t how it works. I’m not your PA and I’m not going to take your word for it. If you want credibility, provide proof.

TheHateIsNotGood · 25/10/2023 21:33

And who are all these Tory voters going to vote for indeed? The ones in the trad blue seats. It's not a dead cert any voter will shift to Labour unless they up their game and supply some "Hows" rather than a mere critique.

A few Tory voters will abstain, some will go Libdem, Green, Local Issue or Raving Looney. And some will be enTiced by Reform.

There's all to play for - which is a good thing really.

Yep you got my thoughts exactly.

You want to know. You google it.

I’m not your Google lackey. Sort your own link out. If you want to be informed try reading up.

messybutfun · 25/10/2023 21:36

I am just trying to follow your logic here, but I can‘t.

You do know who has been in charge of immigration for the last 13 years?

Round here we talk about tactical voting all the time.

I don’t want to know. You’re the one who wants me to believe you. I bet your tutorials were a hoot - “references, what references? Go and Google it.”

You asked for a link. I’m glad I didn’t waste my time doing that.

As for tutorials ‘I don’t want to know’. Yeh I bet.

Logic?

Logic doesn't support supporting the Tories.
