Would be such a shame not to continue the discussion.

Crispin Blunt confirms that he is the Conservative MP who was arrested yesterday accused of rape.

He claims 'extortion' is involved in the allegation and vows to clear his name.

Of course they are feminists. GC feminists at that.

If posts don’t stand up to scrutiny they get countered. It’s not like these threads with majority Labour posters.

In fact many have voted Labour it’s more that it’s no longer an easy ride for the party.

Edited

A number of posters on that board do not identify as feminist. GC =/= feminist, just ask KJK

A number of posters express things like "I'm GC - would never have thought I was feminist"

And of course, as is traditional with FWR there are a number of male posters hanging around who are definitely not feminists.

You're wrong. Quite a few are neither GC or feminists. They've said so. But there are some feminists and some women new to feminism.

What's more, they are very reluctant to look at, nevermind acknowledge the damage done to women by the Tory party, preferring to bleat "But Labour". Its the only feminist space I've ever known where criticism of the government is discouraged.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke 🙄
Eastern you'll be familiar with him as one of the Conservative TRAs

bombastix · 26/10/2023 18:03

Ah. Well, Crispin is unlikely to be sexually interested in women.

Is KJK posting? Which poster is she?

I’ve seen loads of ‘I’m as GC as they come but…’

Not your version

Male posters sure. FWR does a decent job there

She's banned as you know. She used to be an extremely regular poster until then. That's where her name "Posie Parker" came from. You can probably still find her posts if you search.

So why do you find her relevant now?

She’s not even posting anymore

Personal attacks.., hmm I think that is done very well by some.

The end of that last thread which prompted this one was typically how it goes with rounding on one poster

This one was set up with a vote though. So even if the posts are skewed the vote is different

The person you are referring to regularly pops up on these threads cutting and pasting "But Labour..." references rather than engaging with the defects of the Conservative party. However, she does it in a fairly good-humoured way and is treated likewise. Also at the end of that thread she was blatantly and openly aiming to bring the thread to an end by filling it with very short and largely meaningless posts (hence this one). She will certainly be back, and clearly doesn't feel herself to be a victim as she's happy to give as good as she gets.

Good on her. She comes off well.

Well if you are open to new information and can request in a nicer way than below I’m sure you’re more likely to see any links.

If it’s I don’t want to know and unpleasant as per then the poster will more likely say forget it I’m not wasting my time.

If you want your point to be taken seriously, it makes sense to post the evidence anyway when someone queries the basis for it, not to impose some sort of "Are they asking nicely enough?" barrier. In this case the request was along the lines of "Who's saying that? A link would be nice" which is hardly impolite.

I’m long past thinking anyone on these threads actually reads counter information

I posted the Law Commission below. Nothing.

If you are interested.. google it’s not hard.

Just as a contrast here's an old FWR thread...started by Posie herself

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/1023813-Is-it-easier-to-be-a-feminist-if-you-are

Anyway all a good laugh/nostalgia for the old times, back when feminists talked about shit like the patriarchy and mens misogynistic behaviour...

Yes sad times FWR isn’t what you want. Perhaps blame your party for not standing up to scrutiny not the posters.

VeryGoodVeryNice · 26/10/2023 18:16

I was thrilled when even my dad, who is the thickest kind of racist, long-standing Tory voter, told me that he had had enough of them and hadn’t voted for them in the recent by-election. That’s brilliant I said, who did you vote for? He replied…UKIP 🤦‍♀️. I honestly despair but at least his vote is effectively wasted now.

No they haven’t.

It is going to be easier that’s a basic Labour claim

There were at least two links posted yesterday evening.

Do you go onto FWR and read what’s going on? Or is it more these types of threads with majority Labour

At some point you realise posters really do want to waste time not learn.

You've linked a few below where? There are no links in your post.

Nothing. Of course skipped over.

Posters are not receptive beyond Labour posts. That’s why these threads fill up as they do. Do you go on threads where majority are not automatically Labour, say FWR?

As the chain demonstrates, I'm talking about this thread. It may surprise you to learn that, in accordance with normal custom, I wasn't expecting you to search every thread on MN on which someone posted yesterday evening.

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/10/2023 18:33

Blunt has lost the Whip. At this rate the Tories will lose their majority before the GE.Shock

I haven’t searched anything.

It’s a general question. Do you post on FWR or read it to see what’s happening

Nope, no quotes or links on this thread. Two short purported one sentence summaries.

I’d rather know of the gender part includes misgendering

Given the trajectory in countries where women have been up against it for stating men cannot be lesbians I’d check what can be posted on mn or other sites or said publicly

Plus Law Commission recommended against it based on women’s aid and other groups

Google tip Norway lesbian men free speech

And Law Commission

The Law Commission has recommended that “sex or gender” should not be added to the protected characteristics for aggravated offences and enhanced sentencing as it would be ineffective at protecting women and girls and in some cases, counterproductive.

My goodness people are dedicated
