Would be such a shame not to continue the discussion.

So you’re including FWR posters in that. And others avoiding it too, as not echoing their political bias.

However as far as intelligent debate goes on political issues I know where does it better.

And as I said I’ve seen posters try to explain to you on FWR why they say what they do. You’re not very open to those posts

You could read this thread and assume there wasn't a crisis in our schools (buildings and workforce), medical services (buildings, equipment, beds and workforce), in mental health services and CAMHS, in SEN provision, in Social Care, in our police forces, prisons and legal system (buildings and workforce), in local government, in transport infrastructure and the economy and trade relations.

Little wonder Conservatives focus on trans and immigration, chess sets and A levels.

Free school meals for assistance dogs, complusory maths in utero and remedial fag addiction orders, and a migrant shaming pod for every community.

BIossomtoes · 26/10/2023 16:14

Do posters on FWR provide evidence for their claims or just expect them to be swallowed whole without question?

verdantverdure · 26/10/2023 16:14

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/10/2023 15:46

I continously keep up to date on GC news, being a GC feminist. I know the damage the Tories have inflicted on women's rights and am aware of the further damage they will do. The Tory government have zero respect for women or our rights and are as "captured" as anyone else. The party is riddled with TRAs. One of them may well be the next leader.

Edited

Same.

It baffles me that women keep parroting the Tory words and ignoring their actions.

EasternStandard · 26/10/2023 16:16

I’m surprised people are falling for ‘take the public with you’ without any indication of legal change

Just not worried about that part. Definitely working

The Tories have done extensive polling and focus groups.

They know their voters. They speak to them.

On top of everything else I'd never vote for a party who knew there was crumbling RAAC concrete above thousands of children's heads in 2018 and did next to nothing about it.

I don't know how anyone who cares about protecting children can.

Yep women share all sorts of links. It’s a great place for knowledge and not wasting poster’s time

Not the "right kind"
You have to be an approved poster by the self-created board police contingent, or you don't count

At some point you realise posters really do want to waste time not learn.

Here's what I actually said as a reminder:

I read FWR all the time and used to post there a lot. Unfortunately it's become dominated by a few posters who are aggressive and bullying to anyone who questions the GC group think in even a minor way. I can't be bothered to engage to be called a TRA/a CCHQ plant/a Labour politician/ignorant/stupid for stating some very minor points.

I do approve of FWR, I don't approve of the attitude of a minority of posters (including yourself) who pile on to anyone who posts anything outside their own cliquey point of view. And state the "GC position" as if its a hive mind and they are queen bee. Its really stifled any form of feminist debate.

Yes I often disagree with your posts. As do others. It’s not a ‘hive mind’ it’s that they don’t stand up to scrutiny.

Being pro Labour isn’t enough of a guard against question.

AdamRyan · 26/10/2023 16:30

Right. I'm bored with the "at least they know what a woman is" derail. Not posting about that any more.

How are we feeling about the latest bout of gbeebies misogyny by a Tory?

Welsh Tory accused of misogyny for GB News hair jibe

Andrew RT Davies said a woman politician was too "busy doing her hair" to go on the channel.

It's a cheap shot. But GB News is a bit like pub bollocks pretending to be news.

TheHoover · 26/10/2023 16:41

I’ll vote for whichever party is proposing the most significant investment in education. The under-investment in schooling over the last 13 years of Tory rule has been disgraceful and will not improve, as they are not impacted personally, nor are their rich mates or elderly party members. The plan, of course, is for more and more parents to opt out of state education thus lowering the bill (see also healthcare). I have so much sympathy for everyone working in education who are living and breathing the steady degradation of state education each and every day - it must be utterly soul-destroying even without wages tracking well below inflation year-on-year. And of course it won’t improve as Sunak’s hell bent on lowering taxes for the riches rather than investing in public services.

Forget about which is the best party for women: is anyone coming up with any strong arguments for the Tory party being the best vote for our children’s future….?

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 26/10/2023 17:00

DH has worked in the public sector for forever and is confident none of them have much of a positive effect, largely due to the way the systems work and how difficult it is to change anything.

Yes I agree with your DH. I don't think things will change no matter who's in government. I don't think there will ever be enough money for all the problems the country has, the NHS could swallow up the entire tax take and still it wouldn't be enough money because we are an unhealthy unfit population who takes little responsibility for it's health. For the first time I probably won't vote.

It no longer baffles me. Many of them are Toryists not feminists. They hate me posting facts and holding the government to account for their appalling record on women's rights.

@EasternStandard damn sure I'm not open to their ridiculous opinion that Tory TRAs in the government are not a problem.

Well let's hope for everyone involved it gets sorted out soon. Frankly that person has got a problem irrespective of rape. Possession of drugs is easy to prove and charge.

Of course they are feminists. GC feminists at that.

If posts don’t stand up to scrutiny they get countered. It’s not like these threads with majority Labour posters.

In fact many have voted Labour it’s more that it’s no longer an easy ride for the party.

Whereas here we ask for evidence and get told to Google.

What do you think to yet another Tory MP on rape charges @EasternStandard? At least he knows what a woman is, eh?
