it was an assortment of random unhealthy snacks… 🤔 Yes, I appreciate he was in a rush but aibu to think is pretty bad? I mean how long does it take to throw some fruit and yogurt in a bowl. Give me strength 🙄

And suddenly the whole thread makes sense, along with the photograph.

What that she was in the news?

@beanii Not here they’re not! It doesn’t make sense that there’s a cost of living crisis and at the same time everyone can afford takeout several times a week!

There are millions of people in the country. Even if people got one once a year, that would be enough to keep them in business.

CowboyJoanna · 21/10/2023 18:02

That's a dessert, not a breakfast.

Love this!

Seriously, this is really bad. Perhaps not as bad as a family who fed their child chocolate for breakfast (I overheard a conversation between nursery staff about how it was the third time that week that the child had arrived eating chocolate and the mum had said that’s all he would eat).

Awful that nursery staff would discuss this where other parents could hear. I had a seriously food averse DS who was dangerously underweight when he was 2/3/4. If he asked for chocolate for breakfast then that's what he got as at least it got some calories in him! He's now 8 and diagnosed ASD, still very small and skinny for his age but the best eater of the 3 so it obviously hasn't done any long term harm. People should think twice before they judge others.

jrc1071 · 21/10/2023 18:05

Your husband, more than likely knows better, and this is a weaponized incompetence. He did this on purpose to piss you off, and to make you step in and do breakfast, because he is enjoying the free labor you are providing.

Rip him a new one, and if it continues, you may want to reconsider whether or not if this is sustainable for you.

Lostthewilltolive1970 · 21/10/2023 18:13

People saying that they'd be raging. Jeez, I wish that's all I had to rage about. No nobody died, get a grip.

Toomuchtrouble4me · 21/10/2023 18:42

Where did you get the photo from?
I don’t believe this happened.

evian76 · 21/10/2023 18:44

Crikey, I’m very relaxed and that’s shocking!

Mrsgreen100 · 21/10/2023 18:44

Jesus , that’s not food it’s junk , stop buying crap

GavinStacey · 21/10/2023 18:50

Give him the same for his dinner! Then hive him a masterclass in how to make cereal with a fruit side!

GavinStacey · 21/10/2023 18:51

Oops Give not hive

AfterWeights · 21/10/2023 18:52

God that's full of sugar

It takes zero effort to shove porridge in the microwave and dump a handful of blueberries in

Fromthebirdsnest · 21/10/2023 18:59

Weaponised incompetence... he's doing this so he doesn't have to give the baby breakfast , make a laminated chart of appropriate breakfast food for a 2 year old and put it on your fridge ...

I feel sorry for the wife and child having a shitty, lazy, fat husband deliberately underperforming so his wife never asks him to parent again.

MrsMrsD · 21/10/2023 19:32
  1. Your daughter didn't even eat them.
  2. You were actually there and took a photo.
  3. It's not an everyday occurrence.
  4. Find yourself a hobby. A couple of biccies in the morning isn't the end of the world and neither does it make him a bad Dad.
MysteryBelle · 21/10/2023 19:39

A banana and a cup of milk would have been less trouble and 10x healthier.

He is incredibly lazy and foolish. You don’t give a two year old a bunch of ultra processed garbage and straight sugar for breakfast.

The person who said, shoddy, forgot the crips and can of Coke 😂😂😂

greenbeansnspinach · 21/10/2023 19:44

What’s wrong with the man?

Ridiculous comment. Her OH is a grown adult male who knows what breakfast foods are. He’s not a 4 yo who doesn’t know that cake isn’t for breakfast. I don’t want to assume his intentions but I can’t understand how any adult could justify giving cake and biccies to a child for breakfast?

Professing that he didn’t know any better is ludicrous.

Ilovecleaning · 21/10/2023 19:58

Men are absolute dicks sometimes.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/10/2023 20:04

It’s a crap breakfast, no argument there - but as a one-off, it isn’t the end of the world.

pumpykins · 21/10/2023 20:04

Useless fucking bastard

i would have been livid

how difficult is toast and butter?

why don’t men give a shit about nourishing their kids

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 21/10/2023 20:05

When you do the shopping, don't choose food that's all processed and sugary with no nutrition. It's not easy, but it is in your power. If it's not in the house, your DH can't serve it.

MrsMrsD · 21/10/2023 20:05

Not a ridiculous comment dear, they're facts. Child didn't even eat them. Mum was there so could have simply eye rolled at Dad and asked him not to serve biscuits for breakfast. Lots of angry Mums over a couple of biscuits is quite laughable. Put the pitchforks down dears.
