You shouldn't be driving to the office when there will be a red weather warning

We are in the north east of Scotland. Tomorrow is supposed to be an Amber weather warning for wind and rain most of the day. Later it will apparently be even worse and turning to a red weather warning.
I suggested to my DH that he should maybe work from home tomorrow.
However, his bosses have said they need everyone in the office for a big project. Not likely to get home before the weather warning goes red either.
DH has to drive a pretty awful road to get home. Any other routes would have even more trees and are really twisty.
Surely they should work from home if the weather is going to be that bad?

I've seen the pics of the Marykirk road.

I've seen a video where the old stretch of wall beside the river in Brechin has gone too. The new flood wall is still there but the bit they didn't replace just seems to have vanished and there's a bus stop pole just hanging right on the edge of where the river is. I know the new walls were breached but honestly looking at everything I think it would be even worse if they hadn't had them there which is crazy to imagine right now.

This was Marykirk this morning and what it should look like. I have driven this road many times and can barely comprehend what I'm seeing. 😔

We have had a bit of a rough night in terms of sleep and the rain is heavier and constant since 9pm last night but we are still dry. Had a tree down come down behind us but missed our house.
No more power issues for now but I'm more worried for today as everything is so saturated and already taken so much. The kids are fed up being indoors and so are we. I'm finding myself irritated by the number of people trying to find driving routes on facebook, not because they are essential workers or to check on family but to go to the cinema or I need to go get a pair of shoes.....ermmm no you don't!

Is it ever going to stop raining?!?
So much destruction all around.

I managed to kill the car yesterday, left to go to the pharmacy early afternoon after my oldest daughter spilled her much needed medication , was fine on the way there, on the way back water suddenly started pouring from fields and the water went from 3 inches to 3 feet 😭 . Insurance picked it up this evening .
