Neighbours chopped down their own trees but

they are now unhappy with the fact they can see the stuff stored down the side of my garage.

So they’ve moved all the stuff to the back of my garage. Without asking me.

I can now see their hideous 1970’s house whereas before I could see fir trees in which the Goldcrests gathered.

I’m toying with what I can put down the side of my garage. What about one of those blow up bendy balloon men they have outside some businesses? I wouldn’t be able to see it.

I might be over invested in this 😂 but I bet they do think the garage is their boundary, at least in this picture it looks like the bushes running up to it are in line with the garage wall rather than the tree stumps, so they could easily think that’s their line.

KateKateLee · 18/10/2023 18:41

You can have the hideous metal statue that's outside my house. I said that I would only buy the house if it went, but we ended up buying it. I would love to get rid of it.

Wordsworse · 18/10/2023 18:48

You can see the remains of the trees on the left of the bushes which was their border.

I am waiting to see what they do next.

Inflatable cock chair!

Missingpop · 18/10/2023 23:22

Cheeky fuckers they’ve trespassed on your land to move your stuff without your permission; I’d get back out there & move it back & id have a fucking good tidy up & add more crap to the pile just to piss them off even more; if they say anything just say I’m happy with it where it is please don’t touch my property again.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/10/2023 05:51

I agree with potential land grab. Perhaps they are doing this without realising it.

Does that mean the tree stump here is was partly on your land? I’ve circled the slab nearby as there appears to be an overlap.

Poster your pic again for reference.

If it was me I’d just move them if I had room
in the plus side I’d be glad they cut trees down so near to foundations of garage

pmama · 19/10/2023 09:38

From the fence angle, those were your trees... probably they would like to sell, and tidying up the garden before. From their side, probably the garage is more looking like the boundary - and so would the potential buyers see it. (unless you have your odd stuff there which definitely shows that the garage wall is not the boundary). Pls put up the fence soon. It is not an offence, just an assurance and would avoid more fierce debates later on.

JustWimpy · 19/10/2023 10:14

If they want to plant hedging in place of the trees, the next step is to get someone in with a machine to grind down the stumps. They probably moved the buckets so that could happen. I doubt there's any type of 'land grab' being planned over about a foot of ground.

pollymere · 19/10/2023 11:03

Having seen what firs did to the foundations of my parents' garage it's probably a good thing. I would be checking the boundary line on maps as you might suddenly find yourself with five feet of extra garden 😂. My boundary is a red brick wall that hasn't existed for about twenty years.

Ponderosamum · 19/10/2023 12:01

Did they move your stuff before they had cut down the trees ? just wondering if they did it to make sure it wasn't damaged. I would just create the boundary line showing what's your side, then tell them they can plant in front of it till their hearts content without moving stuff thats on your side ? maybe they assume that its all theirs and dont realise the garage was not built on the boundary line ?

BananaPyjamaLlama · 19/10/2023 14:34

Yawns. You've made it beyond realms of MN @Wordsworse. Clearly your thread needed better boundary!
‘My neighbours chopped down their own trees - now they're angry at me' (msn.com)

Cheeky of your neighbours. And weird that they've bothered given that they leave the house empty for most of the year.

Socksey · 19/10/2023 15:39

You mention that they are taking out the stumps... just watch that the garage foundations aren't disturbed by that...

TheyreEatingThemInNelsonAndTheBluff · 19/10/2023 16:27

I imagine they will use a stump grinder and that they won’t actually pull them out.

timesaretight · 19/10/2023 19:52

Did they have planning permission?

timesaretight · 19/10/2023 19:56

Put dirty grease under the handles and underneath your things just in case they move your stuff again, you maybe able to think of something else. I wouldn't have put the plant there.

I think security lights as well.
