If you are anti-Zionist, what do you think Israel should do?

Poudretteite · 14/10/2023 14:39

Should Israel open its borders? Be given back to the Palestinian people? Where should the Jewish people go? What about the high risk of genocide?

Interested to hear as many people over the last few days have said they are anti-Zionist and that it's different to antisemitism.

Read the thread and you'd see why it was posted. It was making a point.

Why why why Delilah? 😆
it’s easier and kinder to explain.

Reallifelurker · 15/10/2023 00:14

And as you say - the Arab league rejected it on the basis they felt Jews should not have any rule over any land at all.

I don’t think it’s fair to imply the Arabs were the only ones who wanted the land all to themselves. The Israeli’s presumably felt the same way or they wouldn’t have annexed most of it.

Ameni · 15/10/2023 00:14

@Delilah023 Just trying to take the heat out of the exchanges - and I do think @LemonyTicket is asking for an explanation and it might help

I am sure Jews do want the whole thing, but they still said yes to every deal offered. The Arab League rejected the deal saying they would not accept Jews having any country at all. They said the same for a decade, over two formal offers and then launched a war to try and win it all. Jews accepted it all along. It's historical fact :)

@Ameni @LemonyTicket Sorry. That was terse. Been on edge the past few days.

I meant to say that the idiot in the tweet was in response to the post further up thread about Israelis not celebrating deaths like Hamas. In fact, there are plenty of bad Israelis doing this as there are those standing against those idiots.

Ah okay, he is a goady prick, but to be fair that is not the same as the videos the Hamas terrorists posted. Come on!

The Israelis originally increased their territory following the wars of 1948 and 1967 (Six Day War).

You're okay with ablist slurs though? Come on, you've got a few minutes to edit that one, I suggest you do.

Ameni · 15/10/2023 00:22

Really good to try to get the civility back and the edit button is such a good idea. Lots of people on edge and it’s late for some of us and it’s been exhausting.

Under Islamic rule, Jews were considered dhimmi, second-class citizens, forced to pay special taxes, wear distinctive signs and articles of clothing and suffered other discriminatory decrees and legislation.

The Quran does see all the know as the people of the book/scriptures therefore Muslims, Jews and Christians as the people of Abraham. Now their are many verses about Jews in particular that are not shall we say nice. Once you get to the part were Mohammed went to the Jewish village and tried to tell them he was a prophet. Then the Jews told him to prove it and laughed at him thing get more interesting about his teachings from them. I suppose he got pissed off because humiliated by Jews. Though actually the Quran was written by his following around 130 years or something after his death so maybe it was them who were annoyed with Jews. I have no idea and doubt we will ever know.

An easy to understand example of Islam not being that kind to Jews I have attached below because I don't want to offend anyone by getting the wording wrong. I also want to say that the Quran says this. Therefore the Muslims that want Israel are actually going against the Quran:

Koran (5:21), “O my people! Enter the Holy Land which God has decreed for you, and turn back on your heels otherwise you will be overturned as losers.”

My Muslim colleagues say that those people that try to take Israel from the Jews are fake muslims they are Munafiq.

If you are anti-Zionist, what do you think Israel should do?

But Delilah, that wasn’t what my post says at all — I was explicitly talking about people around the world celebrating. Not traumatised Gazans, or Israeli settler: the people who are neither of those, but have been out partying on the streets in the West and lots of other countries, in Arab countries, who have given filmed speeches about how proud they are of the attacks, how justified the attacks are, etc. There are people all over social media gloating about the videos of the dead and raped women. Not people who are part of it personally, or who are either Israeli or Palestinian. Do you think then it’s okay to support some killings? Some rapes and murders of innocent people are okay if you say it’s retaliation for other wrongs?

“Retards”? I think we can all see what you mean by that quite inexcusable term.

Do you think rape and murder are fine if it’s by the people you support? Plenty of pro-Palestinian protestors (I’m not talking about Palestinians themselves here, but many supporters we have seen this past week, out at rallies and on social media), seem to be happy to overlook or support revenge rape and child-killing; some of us don’t think that’s ever justified by either side.

HermioneWeasley · 14/10/2023 14:56

Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005 leaving infrastructure including a power station. The Palestinians elected Hamas who have used aid to stockpile weapons, destroyed the power station and used water pipes supplied by the EU to make rockets to attack Israel. Gaza is subsequently dependent on Israel for water and power which has been provided free of charge, and somehow it’s still the fault of the Israelis. And Hamas are such a liability that Egypt closed their border with Gaza.

Hamas’s stated objective is to wipe Israel off the map.

They may have pulled out. However, Palestinians still have no basic human rights and live in an open-air prison. Approximately 13,000 Palestinian children have been imprisoned, detained, and prosecuted by Israel’s occupation forces. Their limbs were tied to a low metal chair for prolonged periods.

Thousands of Palestinians have been raped, murdered, kidnapped and tortured. The majority are women and children.

Do you blame them for trying to defend themselves?

Ameni · 15/10/2023 00:34

Yes I be asked you to retract the word retard and very kindly. Please would you do so?

Yes, but now they’re occupying the Palestinian Territories. Most of which they acquired in a war they started. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

No rapes or murders are acceptable. Period.

That said, history is littered with violence being the final resort of people who have run out of road.

My Muslim colleagues say that those people that try to take Israel from the Jews are fake muslims they are Munafiq.

“Dhimmi is a historical[1] term for non-Muslimsliving in an Islamic state with legal protection.[1][2]: 470  The word literally means "protected person",[3] referring to the state's obligation under sharia to protect the individual's life, property, as well as freedom of religion, in exchange for loyalty to the state and payment of the jizya tax, in contrast to the zakat, or obligatory alms, paid by the Muslim subjects.[4] Dhimmi were exempt from certain duties assigned specifically to Muslims if they paid the poll tax (jizya) but were otherwise equal under the laws of property, contract, and obligation.”

You would have got that from a 5 minute Google. The factual inaccuracies in what you wrote are staggering.

I don’t have time to correct them all.

You’re clearly a radicalised individual with extremist views and it’ll take a lot more than one evening of mumsnet to cure you.

All the best.
