What happened in Israel was horrific by Hamas. But why are Palestinians being restricted, bombed, dehydrated and deprived of basic needs because of terrorists? Why is the world supporting Israel commiting war crimes?

Hamas are sick fucks to kill innocents. But it's like history repeating again. 9/11 caused millions of Iraqis killed for what?

Have we learned nothing from the past???

I'm saying that I'm against the attacks in Palestine to punish Hamas. How can butchering 1000s without food water power medical aid in an open air prison be justified ever??

Well there are two explanations here
A) the Israeli intelligence services fucked up or
b) the Israeli intelligence services knew it was coming and deliberately allowed the massacre and kidnapping of women, children and babies in order to justify attacking Gaza

It is rude, ignorant and preposterous to deny the shared meaning of the word. Semites may be Arabs as well as Jews however the term anti-Semitism is coined in regard to the hatred towards Jewish people. Throughout history, there was no anti-Semitism towards Arabs as Arabs were never forced to leave their Arab regions and live with their oppressors as opposed to the Jewish people who endured this for 2000 years.

Israel is relatively HUGE compared with Gaza. Gaza has nowhere to go, but the sea. the impact of Israel with all its resources attacking Gaza, is not the same as Hama's attacking Israel is it

The situation is awful. You have Hamas engaged in asymmetric terrorist atrocities against Israeli civilians. Thousands murdered. And the Israeli government engaging in the collective punishment of everybody in Gaza with a siege that is also causing the innocent to suffer and die. I think it is a failure of statecraft for governments around the world to identify this as what is happening. Israel and its people have a right to security as an internationally recognised state. But really I don't believe it is as complicated as people like to say. The Palestinian people have a right to the same things, even if Palestine is not a recognised state. Until both sides start seeing and treating each other as people with inalienable human rights, rather than as others/aliens, the cycles of violence will continue. It is how Europe crawled out of nationalism after two World Wars, and is the only proven method for lasting peace and deescalation of the hatred between populations. The world needs a two state solution with stable borders. From there, you build trade alliances, and prosper together through economic growth. But none of that possible at the moment 😔.

What Hamas have done is abhorrent. Absolutely nothing condones what they have done.

But what Isreal are doing right now is close to genocidal and is not the right way to go!

This did not happen in a vacuum. Wrongs have been committed by all sides and the violence has to stop.

Violence isn't a solution and whilst yes it might make Isreal safer in the short term another generation is going to grow up angry and violent.

The only way forward is for all sides to stop the violence.

Genuine question OP, do you think it’s a reasonable aim for Israel to want to destroy Hamas? How should they achieve that? I feel for the Palestinians but I do wonder what happens if Israel do nothing, do they face another similar attack in a few months? Because Hamas have been lobbing rockets at Israel for years, they don’t actually want to negotiate they want all the Jews gone (this is their stated aim, it’s like trying to negotiate with Isis, it’s a zero sum game) thats not a point from which the Israeli government can negotiate.

I just want to clarify when people here say end the occupation do you mean drop the blockade (which would probably result in worse for Israel than what we’ve just seen) or do you mean there should be no Jews in Israel? Because the second one is what Hamas are talking about when they use the word occupation.

But Hammas are the de facto government of Gaza

Thousands of Israelis have flown out of Ben Gurion, they have passports (more than one in a lot of cases). People in Gaza do not have passports, they were told to evacuate which some who had means to do so attempted via the Egyptian border but the IOF subsequently bombed the border (killing many!).
