To be against the attacks on Palestine

1000 replies

Threemangoes · 11/10/2023 13:42

What happened in Israel was horrific by Hamas. But why are Palestinians being restricted, bombed, dehydrated and deprived of basic needs because of terrorists? Why is the world supporting Israel commiting war crimes?

Hamas are sick fucks to kill innocents. But it's like history repeating again. 9/11 caused millions of Iraqis killed for what?

Have we learned nothing from the past???

Do you think that hate was created in a vacuum? Nothing radicalises men more than the suffering, torture and killing of their loved ones at the hands of occupiers who never face justice. This has been happening for decades - sheer hatred for them and being regarded and treated as human animals by millions of people living freely on the other side of the caged fence has compounded their hate in return. Psychological trauma from years of suffering (often since birth), no freedom and witness to extreme violence, bombings and killings has resulted in an extremist and “nothing left to lose” mindset.

Interesting you bring up the wider context.

Perhaps you'd like to have a stab at explaining why it is that pretty much all of the Islamic regimes in that region of the world have sought to oppress, subjugate and exterminate Jewish people almost from the inception of the religion?

Given you think that experiencing suffering, torture and the killing of loved ones is enough to radicalise people into committing acts of terror against their oppressors surely you would understand, and indeed expect, Jewish people to behave that way towards all Muslims (and Christians) given they've been suffering for millenia?

And yet, in the only Jewish majority country almost 20% of the population are Muslim, and are treated as equals under Israeli law.

I have. I've written papers on Lebanon's confessional balance. On African nations who welcomed Palestinians for workers capital. On Jordan with the huge amount of refugees taken in, the number absorbed out of camps and the yellow card program. On the Casablanca Protocol overall.

There are a number of reasons other countries don't welcome an exodus of Palestinian refugees as an answer to the current conflict. If you were attempting to dumb it down to a vague implication that Palestinians are bad people you need to educate yourself. If not, you need to clarify your point.

So it's only natural for palestinians to want revenge, right? (Of course it's not!)

https://www.timesofisrael.com/settler-extremists-sowing-terror-huwara-riot-was-a-pogrom-top-general-says/

Palestinian children have been killed (burned alive) by Israeli terrorist, I heard no one say Palestine could bomb Israel to the ground and starve them to get rid of the Israeli extremists? Or even a little "I stand with Palestine"?

Don’t put words in my mouth. Read further up thread. You will never as long as I live catch me saying that Palestinians do not have legitimate grievances. That does not mean that the actions of Hamas were in anyway acceptable.

The fact is despite the injustices committed the state of Israel does exist. No one is going to get justice so peace and equality is what we should aim for.

Hammas wouldn't be in if there weren't fair and free elections.
None since 2006.

The previous government was terribly corrupt.

Hammas sold itself as a new way and hope.
Then promptly seized power, repressed women.

Insee thisnbeing repeated again and again thread after thread. Please, can you gove me a source of Hamas being a Islamist organisation attacking women? Or depriving them of their right? Or killing fays? Or any of the things that have been thrown around just to make sure to make Gaza look like the last Islamist menace?

It is not even legal on Gaza to try to force women to wear Hijab... Women have rigths. The only things tht you can find is from 2009, 14 years ago...

NotTerfNorCis · 11/10/2023 21:05

Do you feel this way about the Nazis too?

What occupiers were torturing and killing Germans in the 1920s/1930s?

This.

Norbi · 11/10/2023 21:06

It’s horrific.

The attacks were hideous and the payback is hideous. I read before that 11 UN workers have been killed including teachers and a gynaecologist! This will just be the start too like the bombing of Afghan was after 9/11.

It’s just sick.

I can totally understand the huge concern for civilians in Gaza but what I can't get my head around is anyone fangirling Hamas after the last few days.

RubyGemStone · 11/10/2023 21:07

I really cannot see that anyone on this thread is denying that life in Gaza is horrible, that the Palestinians are suffering or that it is awful children are being killed.

It seems like most people are pointing out that the whole chicken or egg conversation is irrelevant. My 8 year old could have predicted the Israeli response and he probably thinks Hamas is some sort of exotic dip. These were very obvious consequences of the actions of last Saturday, so much so even the most uninformed on the matter was able to predict it.

If this was (and still seems to be ongoing) Israel's 9/11, after which we saw the war on terror, I don't know what you thought would happen?

I'm not a supporter of Israel generally, but am genuinely interested what you want them to do? Leave?

Apart from the initial maniacal high and the thousands of fucking morons partying it up in Kensington and various other privileged locations I don't believe anyone in the region is enjoying this.

There is a wave of propaganda going at the moment claiming

  1. Gaza is an Islamist state

  2. Gazans are very problematic terorists that every country refuse to take

  3. What happened last week (some of it unconfirmed) happens all the time in Gaza.

Someone is trying to scare people into not looking into whatbis being done to Gaza....

I don't but there is false information about GAZA and GAZANS being circulated and I'd lile some sources.

All I got so far is being called antisemite or Hamas defender, which I am defenitely not. But there is a narrative of Gazans/Palestinians being problematic/islamist territory that needs to stop.

ForFriends · 11/10/2023 21:21

From the video, 'Israel defends its people by using rockets, Hamas defends its rockets by using people.'

This really says it all.

A Palestinian explains Hamas:

I could find videos of Jews and Israeli speaking up against Israel, people who say exactly what I want.

The point is. Hamas is a terrible terrorist organisation. That does not wash Israel's hands from what they did/do to Palestinians/Gaza.

@Teder like i said before so that "retaliation" could be justified. No expertise in politics just can differentiate between right and wrong truth and lies.

When this has never happened before? You can tell those who are armchair experts!

Facts and knowledge aren’t being heard by keyboard warriors. There is no debate to be had with some people, unfortunately.

I think you are missing the point this is a Palestinian explaining Hamas not a Palestinian explaining or speaking up against Palestine or Palestinians.

Or do you sympathise with Hamas?

Either way you need to try harder on your diversion tactics.

Let's let serial killers and child murderers off the hook. Lots of them had terrible upbringings.

No?

How is this any different?

Heelenahandbasket · 11/10/2023 21:53

Are you against the “attacks” on Russia by Ukraine? Unlike the Israelis they don’t give warnings. So is it everyone you think can’t defend themselves Or just Jews?
