AIBU to be sickened by what Hamas terrorists have done to innocent Israeli citizens? I am not totally familiar with the whole Israeli - Palestinian situation. I don’t think anything political can explain what has happened over the last few days. It is utterly horrendous what Hamas has done. I also think that Hamas are no friend to the Palestinians. They are bringing wrath on them. I have read that this is the worst attack on innocent Jewish people since the holocaust, which is horrifying. I am struggling to process these recent events.

Rather than shout in anger about baby killers and murderers and retribution, funnel your energy into thinking about what might be a possible solution to the conflict.

Please stop listing the atrocities carried out by your "opponent" thinking that if their abominations are worse than yours then it puts you on the higher moral ground. It doesn't.

Neither Hamas nor the state of Israel have anything to be proud of, they are both in the gutter. Think about working towards a resolution to the conflict.

The dead are now dead, that cannot be changed, try to make some suggestions, so that there isn't further, senseless killing.

No excuses for the literal barbarity of Hamas' actions.

It is not anti-semitic to point out that this did not occur in a vacuum and atrocities have been committed by both Hamas and Israel. It is a highly complex and charged conflict that has played out for decades and stems from a couple of thousand years ago.

I would say the same about any conflict. Two sides to every story. Just terrible that it's the innocent (both Israelis and Palestinians, especially children) who pay the price.

On your second point nobody here is saying what Hamas did was OK. Most people supporting the Palestinian side agree that it was barbaric. What is noticeable is that nobody on the Israeli side here is admitting any wrongdoing by Israel when they have imposed apartheid on Gaza for 15 years and have stolen land and terrorised the population. And are bombing civilians as we speak.

That's a worry.

What people are trying to tell you is that Israel have been murdering Palestinians, babies included, for DECADES. You are evidently unaware of this fact, it is no conspiracy. I disagree with you. There are people on this thread that are trying to justify it. I think that is horrendous and it worries me.

I do have some understanding of the political situation in Israel. However you cannot use that to try & justify Hamas’ evil actions.

Whilst it’s been an ongoing situation since forever, this is not a Palestine / Israel War as others have been. Hamas are terrorists, they don’t care who dies, Palestinians or Israelis and that’s the difference. Both Palestine and Israel have questions to answer about how both countries have behaved.

But Hamas have to be aware that Israel will never stop protecting its borders and its people, you just have to look at history to see that. Hamas knew exactly what they were doing and exactly what Israel would do, and Hamas don’t care how many people, Israeli or Palestinian, or indeed any other nationality die

I have put out that I support the FM of Scotland, Yousaf, that we should be pushing for an immediate cease fire. That is the first thing that needs to be done to de-escalate the situation.
