To be sickened by Hamas

1000 replies

MindfullyAmazedHorse · 10/10/2023 22:08

AIBU to be sickened by what Hamas terrorists have done to innocent Israeli citizens?

I am not totally familiar with the whole Israeli - Palestinian situation. I don’t think anything political can explain what has happened over the last few days.

It is utterly horrendous what Hamas has done. I also think that Hamas are no friend to the Palestinians. They are bringing wrath on them.

I have read that this is the worst attack on innocent Jewish people since the holocaust, which is horrifying.

I am struggling to process these recent events.

I’m sorry you think there is a ‘context’ to a young woman being brutally anally gang raped. I am sorry you think there is a ‘context’ to a young women lying naked and unconscious or dead on a truck whilst men cheer and spit on her.

I am sorry you think you are a good and reasonable person for concentrating on this ‘context’.

You are instead someone who has deliberately blinded themselves to what you have seen.

Oh grow up. If you don't understand why the background to a war is relevant then I give up.

soddingspiderseason · 11/10/2023 11:01

Sky News now showing evidence of horrific atrocities by Hamas. They are corroborated. Can the apologists now please stop pretending that "it didn't happen".

SomeCatFromJapan · 11/10/2023 10:52

@coffeeaddict77 yes the video game was the shooting down of a helicopter.
I've not heard of a video game that shows a woman, wrists bound, with her back area covered in blood. Or of a dead woman with distinctive leg tattoos, limbs at unnatural angles, being driven around on the back of a pickup truck while people praise god and spit on her.

I haven't watched any video games so wouldn't know. I do know that the European Commission had “indications” that Twitter is “being used to disseminate illegal content and disinformation”.

CagneyAndLazy · 11/10/2023 11:02

I wish people would stop just posting links to media content with no context.

Can you not be arsed to even write a couple of words @UhohFibonacci

FFS.

Just a quick question for anyone defending Hamas' actions and saying the IDF are no better. If you had to leave your baby, or even teenage daughter, with someone, would you leave them with the IDF or Hamas? Who would you trust to take better care of your loved one? And why?

What an utterly ridiculous comment.

Why not?

Marmite17 · 11/10/2023 11:05

What the? Everyone is biased. I didn't use Amnesty International as as a primary source.
I do think think the UK is quelling opinions for a reason, most likely imo a good one.
We have to side with Israel for are own and our allies safety.

You're actually completely contradicting what several Jewish posters are saying. Presumably this is why you're trying to talk over them and get us to listen to what you claim they're saying rather than what they actually are saying.

Although well done on the spurious, made-up accusation that speaks even more than your attempt to dub over Jewish people to your wishes. You've shown your colours now. If you're not antisemitic, you'll shut up and let the Jewish posters speak for themselves.

You posted you were speaking on behalf of Jewish people earlier why are wouldn’t you read Jewish mners views?

SomeCatFromJapan · 11/10/2023 11:08

@coffeeaddict77 there was footage of a young woman with dreads and distinctive leg tattoos dancing at the festival. The same woman is clearly seen dead and brutalised in footage that was subsequently filmed and uploaded to social media. Her name is confirmed. Her family have spoken. It really can't be any clearer.

You could find the uncensored footage of her too if you really want evidence.

Oh grow up. If you don't understand why the background to a war is relevant then I give up.

I’m also sorry you don’t understand the difference between war and terrorism. Perhaps this confusion is the source of your stance? These attacks were not an act of war. There were illegal acts of terrorism under every act of international law.

These were not even war atrocities. These were terrorist atrocities against civilians.

I’m grown up enough to have understood that basic fact.

SideBob · 11/10/2023 11:10

Margarethe · 11/10/2023 00:07

Am I the only one who sees a difference between “collateral damage” from a bomb at distance, and going in hand-to-hand and slitting a baby’s throat?

Yes, I do. That doesn't mean either is ok, both are awful. But there is something so horrific about mass murder, torture, terror. Swathes of young men with serious issues that cannot be fixed.

Daftasabroom · 11/10/2023 11:10

NotSuchASmugMarried · 10/10/2023 22:39

Blame Hamas then.

So Hamas are accountable for Israeli actions? Does this mean Israel is accountable for Hamas actions?

Edited

Just because some footage has been proven true it doesn't mean that there is no misinformation or doctored images and videos on social media.

@Margarethe Am I the only one who sees a difference between “collateral damage” from a bomb at distance, and going in hand-to-hand and slitting a baby’s throat?

No I don't think the method of killing a child or a baby is massively different. If you can bomb a hospital or school and disassociate yourself from the deaths caused you are no less of a sociopath than someone who can slit a throat.

Have you actually spoken to any Jewish people lately because most of them are saying…

There are posters here you can read to try and understand what Jewish people are saying

If you are interested as your post suggests why wouldn’t you read the posts?
