To be sickened by Hamas

1000 replies

MindfullyAmazedHorse · 10/10/2023 22:08

AIBU to be sickened by what Hamas terrorists have done to innocent Israeli citizens?

I am not totally familiar with the whole Israeli - Palestinian situation. I don’t think anything political can explain what has happened over the last few days.

It is utterly horrendous what Hamas has done. I also think that Hamas are no friend to the Palestinians. They are bringing wrath on them.

I have read that this is the worst attack on innocent Jewish people since the holocaust, which is horrifying.

I am struggling to process these recent events.

@Mooshamoo there is a time and place.

Innocent humans are in captivity with their babies. Can you imagine that? I have young children and I literally can't think of anything scarier. If the children survive, they will likely be scarred for life.

Do you really think this is a good time to start blaming Israeli's when Hamas has attacked them?

You seem very confident to blame Israel and totally ignore what's actually taken place over the past few days and who's instigated it.

Shame on you. You have no humanity.

Any time is perfect time to blame Israel for the genocide of Palestinians.
Killing innocents is wrong.
Children of gaza are growing up in rubble if they are allowed to grow that is. All they've known is bombs from Israel, army of Israel, settlers of is real taking away their homes, parents and families. They grow up with resentment and join Hamas. Rest is in the news.

People are engaging with each other as well as with me. It is a topic on a lot of our minds.

I am neither ignorant nor a troll, indeed you are clearly one of the people on here “stirring” for trouble.

You have no idea what I, or anyone else on this thread, comprehend.

I have not yet noted any “reasoned opinions” from you.

Anyway, I will leave you to find someone else on the internet to try & aggravate tonight, as I need some sleep!

How would people feel if it was said that the terrorist who killed innocent people at the Arianna Grande concert was doing it because of Western airstrikes on Syria.... this is what many on MN appear to be saying about Hamas and justifying the kidnapped rape and beheading of Israeli people.
The West bombed Iraq, Syria, Libya and yet people wouldn't fall over themselves to excuse or explain away the killing by the Arianna Grande bomber etc etc

I've not read a single post "justifying the kidnapped rape and beheading of Israeli people".

CaughtUpInYourWishingWell · 11/10/2023 01:16

@FebruaryConstant exactly. It's utter hypocrisy. Easy to judge when it isn't their safety or home at risk.

Absolutely this. I think there should be some mandatory reading before anyone is qualified to argue so strongly. Particularly when they nonchalantly accuse anyone speaking any opposing facts of justifying killing children and hating a whole ethnoreligious group.

"you've no humanity".

Well that was dramatic. Have I ever said what hamas did was ok. No. Read my posts. I said what hamas did is disgusting.

However I think it is very immature to look at this one attack just by itself.

There has been an extremely long conflict between Israel and Palestine. It is important to look at the big picture of the conflict.

This attack is not worse than other attacks.

Both sides have attacked each other.

I know. Imagine the whataboutery if used for the Arianna Grande concert. That would be disgusting. Why do some only criticise some terrorists and support or pity others.

Maybe not, but this whole thread is a slew of what abouts and buts. It's fucking rank.

@Guessthevoice then you need to look again. There are many posters here who seem more concerned with pointing fingers at Israel than criticising Hamas.

Prime example. Apparently Hamas is growing and continuing due to Israel's actions. A perfect time to blame Israel is when innocent Israeli families are being slaughtered and kidnapped. Fuck me.

Yes it's rank.

Go through the posts and insert Arianna Grande concert for the Israel festival and type whatv do they expect after the west bombed Syria and think again

Mooshamoo · 11/10/2023 01:22

It says online that Israel have now killed 100 children in the Gaza strip in the last two days.

My thoughts on it are this:

People are so used to Israel killing Palestines that it's not news anymore and people don't even really notice it. It is the way it is.

People are not used to Palestines attacking Israel. So this is why it is seen as more of a shock.

etmoietmoietmoi · 11/10/2023 01:22

@MaydinEssex Yes, your post should be deleted.

@Threemangoes why do you keep repeating open air prison?! Have you even been there? Do you have any real links to the middle east? Didn't think so.

Hamas regularly send rockets over to Israel. When I was visiting a few years ago there were sirens. It's regular.

You seem to have a huge pair of rose tinted glasses on.

After what Hamas has pulled these last few days, I'm surprised any of you can write the things you're writing. Innocent people are fearing for their lives. Burying loved ones. Running from their cities.

And all you can do is blame Israel. Honestly, shame on you. I hope you don't ever have to experience fear like they are or, whilst in the midst of terror, come to know there are people criticising you for doing nothing but live your own life.

Who do you actually have an issue with? You realise most Israelis weren't alive or adults when Israel was formed, right?

Shame on Israel and it's supporters.

Did the sirens scare you? We're you able to get to safety? That's nice. People of gaza don't have that choice.

Killing innocents is wrong but I don't see you condemning Israel for killing innocent? I take it some lives are more important to you than others. Yep no point talking to you.

CaughtUpInYourWishingWell · 11/10/2023 01:24

@FebruaryConstant I genuinely think it's down to subtle anti-semitism. Anti-semitic attacks have been increasing year on year in the UK and it's scary.

It's the ignorance I can't stand. Most of them know zilch about the area or the history. And like you pointed out, they are hypocrical. They just don't care which is a bit scary really. A mother taken with her 4 year old and baby. Can you even imagine? ☹️

The denial of Jewish suffering should not be allowed and deleted. And shamed.

But God give me the strength, the denial of Palestinian suffering at the end of Israel, unprovoked and on purpose, that has been denounced and observed for decades, should be just as not allowed and deleted.

The Palestinian apartheid is a fact, Gaza being an open prison is a fact. There are countless of sources explaining and proving it. Anyone denying it is a propagandist with an agenda.

Reading about the babies being killed at the kibbutz has done it for me.

No “what abouts” …just evil, full stop.

I keep seeing reference to this.. where did you read this?

CaughtUpInYourWishingWell · 11/10/2023 01:29

@Threemangoes says you! What a hypocrite! Where's your compassion for Israeli's? Or do you only have compassion for Palestinians who's own government started all of this?

I 100% have compassion for Palestinian civilians. They asked for this as much as the Israelis - not at all. They will suffer greatly now as a result of Hamad starting an offensive attack.

Hamas are to blame. But in your eyes it's all on Israel. It always will be 🙄

You can't see the truth through your prejudice. As I said before, shame on you. No desire to talk to you either.

How dare there is resistence. Those worthless Palestines should learn to live like good slaves.
Look you've clearly come hear to divert the attention from Israhell's war crimes towards Hamas.
Hamas killing innocents is WRONG and sickening. But let's talk about how disgusting it is to collectively punish civilians in gaza. End this vicious cycle and free Palestine.

You should really familiarise yourself OP before posting. It’s an extremely complex and difficult situation. Of course it’s horrific and nobody would condone it, but you should educate yourself to the background and the ramifications.

I don't think you need to be educated to know evil when you see it. You don't need a history degree to know that hurting babies is wrong.

The hostages, including the mother, 4yr old and baby are in Gaza being bombed by Israel along with hundreds of thousands of Palestinian mothers, children and babies.

I care about everyone in Gaza right now- hostages and resident civilians. I don’t agree with Israel that they had “no choice” about bombing it or cutting off water, food, power, medicine and fuel. I don’t agree with Israel bombing the only exit via Rafah to Egypt three times in the last 24hrs such that every time the Egyptians rebuild it, they bomb it. I don’t agree that Israel has “no choice” but to start a ground offensive in Gaza and retaliate in a way that will “reverbate through generations” of Palestinians or “change the Middle East forever” as “we are dealing with human animals that will be dealt with accordingly” all chilling words to say (I may have paraphrased a bit as it is late.

Israel has choices to cease fire and de-escalate. The fact Israel has already killed some of the Israeli hostages with their own bombs is horrendous.

ARGH. AGAIN:

Presenting counterpoints and facts, discussing the triggers for events, and wishing to understand the reasons behind the actions of people, is NOT JUSTIFYING THEIR ACTIONS!! Neither is it 'pointing fingers' or however you want to phrase it! It is called debating, discussing, learning and understanding!

If all posters want on here is an echo chamber of an opinion, that is based on at least some level of ignorance and absence of facts that don't completely support that opinion, then what's the bloody point?

This is obviously a really emotive subject. I get it. It's awful, and it's hard to even want to understand why people would behave in this way. It's also hard to by sympathetic, but we are talking about good and bad people on both sides. Just because those good and bad people aren't in the news RIGHT NOW, doesn't mean that they don't exist or they haven't previously acted or been affected.

Surely the occurrence of such awful events is a reason and spark in itself to try and learn more about why this has happened? This extends to understanding the prior actions of Israel.

Again. Noone is justifying what is happening. People are trying to understand, and importantly, to not ignore or downplay the poor people who this has also happened to prior to the past 5 days, regardless of their cultural identity, religion, age or location.
