To be baffled at dislike for Victoria Beckham

whenever there is something online about this woman… the haters come out in force. today someone calling her “a Katie price that can keep a husband”

what is the problem? She seems like a fairly inoffensive woman who has made a success out of her life (and that was her own success: she had it before she met David)

The Beckham brand eclipses everything else. I can imagine that however happy they may or may not be as a couple, the brand is so embedded into the whole family that to present anything other than the happy wholesome family would be nigh on impossible

Tatslookawful · 27/10/2023 16:10

@lizzy8230 that sounds like selling your soul to devil unless love underpins it all or a transactional relationship both agree to.

Could Brooklyn & Nicola aspire to similar with a Brookly/Peltz brand?

Surely it’s potentially damaging to kids if all a sham or Dad disrespecting Mum?

Going from some of her media statements (today: I'm in a lucky position whereby I have a lot of stuff I keep at a controlled temperature...) she seems pretty stuck up and conceited. I did like her years ago but I've gone off her because I think she's superficial, vain and the only things I ever read about her are always about only her money, looks or family, never anything for charity or with a broader focus. (David seems to have done a fair bit for charity incidentally.) I don't have time for people so self absorbed!

She looks so miserable in all the photos from her 50th, and so unnatural when she’s posing with people. I’ve no idea why she can’t just relax and smile a bit.

mjf981 · 25/04/2024 07:47

I think its because she isn't very smiley. She comes across as a bit cold and (in my view) doesn't photograph well. She's also successful and tall poppy syndrome is alive and well.
However, I think she's alright. Seems fine and inoffensive to me. And she's done very well for herself.

Tbh the way the Beckhams expose their children on social media way before they're old enough to consent or to understand the impact, is enough to make me dislike them. Many other equally high profile celebrities respect their children's right to privacy and the general public have no idea what their children look like, are named or even what sex they are. It's so wrong that celebs like the Beckhams (or indeed non celebs!) stick their precious children out there all over social media.

I dislike her smug husband a lot more TBH, but they're both tedious & superficial.

The trying (& failing) to fit in with the 'country set' by dressing in tweeds & posing with spaniels is truly pitiful.
