whenever there is something online about this woman… the haters come out in force. today someone calling her “a Katie price that can keep a husband”

what is the problem? She seems like a fairly inoffensive woman who has made a success out of her life (and that was her own success: she had it before she met David)

Trolly people cant stand others succeess or happiness. Haters gotta hate !

She seems perfectly nice to me

panelbottle · 07/10/2023 10:40

What's a trolly person?

What's a trolly person?

an under the bridge dweller, presumably.

panelbottle · 07/10/2023 12:12

oh like troll.

panelbottle · 07/10/2023 12:12

Surely not liking someone doesn't equal trolling?

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 07/10/2023 12:15

I think it's because she was called posh but isn't classically posh.

And the girl power thing was all fake. Aside from that I don't get it either

chipsandpeas · 07/10/2023 12:23

oh come on, if your child wanted to do say be a photographer, wouldnt you encourage or help them as much as you could, then if they changed their mind you again would support and encourage them, thats all they are doing except their kids are in the public eye.

with the amount of papazzari looking at them i can see why they made the choice for their kids to be seen, otherwise the paps would likely be worse to get photos, its only been recently that the paps have backed away from celebs kids

AppleCartier · 07/10/2023 12:29

Jealousy? Envy? There are some people who don’t like to see others doing well.

She was famous before she met DB (not that that matters) she’s a good business women, she’s got 4 children, they seem like a happy family, spending lots of time together. She had to go through a very public and intrusive media circus when DB had the affair. She comes across as a strong woman to me.
I’ve always found her funny in interviews.

its not that paps have voluntarily backed away from celebs kids, it's because some celeb parents have taken legal steps to protect their children's anonymity. that's why you'll see the child's face pixellated.

I absolutely would (within reason). However, I wouldn't big them up to the press as something exceptional (and use the words super talented) when they're not.

It sets them up to be ridiculed, as they have been over Brooklyn's photography and football career, Romeo's tennis career and Cruz's musical career.

I haven't RTFT, but have always liked VB since reading that, after the horrific murders of the two schoolgirls in Cambridgeshire in 2002, she contacted the parents and offered to pay for the entirety of Ely Cathedral to be decorated with white flowers. At the time everyone, especially parents, were horrified at what had happened, her own children were also young, and I saw that as an incredibly thoughtful gesture. Zero attention-seeking too, it was only revealed in the book written by one of the parents.

I'd encourage them if they were good at it, and I'd tell them to study an get better and try for an apprenticeship or something. I wouldn't just call my celeb photographer friends and get them to gush about what a great photographer my kid is, and get them onto national tv to show their terrible photos to the world, while they pretended to be a new celeb photographer!

Judi talked about that commercial - she said it wasn't so easy for her to work nowadays due to her failing eyesight. And they offered her a lot of money for not much work that she could use to pay the mortgage (or similar).

@Pocketfullofdogtreats - Judy Dench is worth at least £30 million. She doesn't have a mortgage. She's spoken of a commercial she did years ago paying for her second home in the country. That house is now worth £4 million apparently. She really has tons of money, she doesn't need to make commercials but she chooses to for reasons I can't quite grasp. I know she wants to keep working and can't do stage work any more. But it would have been 2 or 3 days work at best. Hardly very interesting or creative.

DeOro · 07/10/2023 20:36

Maybe because she has a resting bitch face? TBH I don't get it either. Her make up brand is really good, love the 💄

Sennelier1 · 07/10/2023 21:25

Part of her podcast was on the radio, the part where she says she's from a working-class family. And then her husband comes in and asks her to say what car her dad drove her to school in. A Rolls Royce. I'm still laughing 😂 So no, I don't hate her, I just think she's got some weird ideas 🤣

LolaSmiles · 07/10/2023 21:30

I don't like the jealousy line, but do think there's some internalised misogyny at play.

She's done well for herself, had a career in her own right, fell in love with a successful man, got married, kept her head down and out of the press generally, had four children and generally managed to keep them out of the press as well as you'd expect for two high profile parents. She comes across well in interviews and manages to avoid too much scandal.

I suspect the people looking to tear her down are the same people who convince themselves that happily married friends with nice children must secretly hate their lives and be miserable from putting on a front.

100%. I think she seems to be very devoted to her family and works really hard to keep a low profile, they really aren't in the press that much, certainly her less than him.

SecretVictoria · 08/10/2023 01:31

I like her eyeliners.

Didn’t like the way she lied about having breast implants, when it was blatantly obvious. Why lie?

Then there was the alleged altercation with Jordan in the Man Utd lounge. Doesn’t look great, very nasty if true.

mrlistersgelfbride · 06/10/2023 11:38

She doesn't look like the warmest person at a glance but when you see her in interviews she is hilarious, self depreciating and down to earth.
I've always really liked her.
She's had intense media scrutiny for 25 years. It can't be easy, she's handled it all extremely well.

I think most people probably couldn’t give a Shiite about VB (or her husband)

sep135 · 08/10/2023 05:42

I suspect the people looking to tear her down are the same people who convince themselves that happily married friends with nice children must secretly hate their lives and be miserable from putting on a front.

This is exactly why I feel sorry for her. I think it's a big effort to put on a front both in private and public when your husband is repeatedly unfaithful. It must make her feel insecure and her extreme diet may partly be a consequence of that.

I'm sure their kids are perfectly nice but I don't think either parent has done them many favours. They were at excellent schools but haven't come out with a decent set of qualifications. I'd be encouraging my kids to work hard, not drift around getting loads of tattoos, glued to their girlfriends. Admittedly they're not going to be joining the Goldman Sachs graduate training scheme but it still gives them options.

The kids have been monetised as part of the Beckham brand from an early age when they could have been enjoying a childhood away from media scrutiny. Think about the public knowledge of Brooklyn Beckham's life v Moses Martin. I'd find that quite frightening as a parent.

decionsdecisions62 · 08/10/2023 06:22

I'm indifferent. Seems nice enough on the documentary. Can't be easy living with DB and his neuroses.

Fizbosshoes · 08/10/2023 07:21

I'm surprised at the amount of posters saying they keep themselves to themselves or are very private.
They've had their kids in the public eye virtually from day 1, and use them as part of Brand Beckham in photo shoots/social media etc as their image of a happy close family. Of course that might actually be true ....but it doesn't really fit with the "intensly private" spiel. Other celebs are quite careful about not showing their DC, or having their faces pixilated out. I'm pretty sure Gary Barlows eldest child is a similar age to Brooklyn and I've no idea what he does, what he looks like etc and a pp (possibly on a different thread) mentioned Moses Martin....no idea what he looks like or what he does either.
I feel a bit sorry for the Beckham kids because they've been "known" all their lives then there is far less opportunity to go somewhere anonymous and everything is reported on. There's almost a certain expectation to be or do something amazing! And maybe they're just nice decent but very average kids...but with the pressure of having to be super talented at sonething!

LolaSmiles · 08/10/2023 16:16

I wouldn't say they're intensely private, but given the status of Victoria and David at the height of their original careers I think they did a reasonable job of a quieter life for the kids.

I don't particularly follow showbiz gossip or news and hardly heard about their kids unless they attended an event with their parents. Even as adults the only one I've really heard much of was Brooklyn and his photography attempt plus his marriage.

I might live under a rock though in which case I take it all back.

OuiRagamuffin · 08/10/2023 20:40

So much is pinned on Single People. So ridiculous.

I'm single and I'm happy for them that they've stayed together, they have four kids who seem happy in each others company. They have plenty of money and their children have time to find their purposes.

IhateHPSDeaneCnt · 09/10/2023 17:58

As for her vanity project (the one she kept referring to as 'Mad Max' inspired instead of 'Mad Men' - poor old Roland must have been tearing his hair out) Beckham had to prop it up. She took full advantage of all government initiatives during COVID. Before anyone starts harking on about her taking advice; you can't claim being a successful (!) business owner one minute then getting an onion out and saying 'I was only following my accountant's orders'. Plus she got rid of loads of staff whinging on about the impact of COVID whilst still taking a massive wage out of the company.
