Does anyone else have a bra purse?

Just been to the post office to post something and when I needed to pay, I promptly fished my bank card out of my bra. The lady laughed and admitted she had a bra purse too. Since lockdown, I just don't carry a bag or a purse anywhere! Some days, I have my phone, house keys, bank card and a poo bag in there! Is it just me?

Just you. Handbags are the best bit of any outfit.

Marblessolveeverything · 02/10/2023 13:44

Grim, I really do not want to be handed something from someone's bra. I use pockets or a handbag not exactly onerous.

Youcunnyfunt · 02/10/2023 13:46

No. My boobs once destroyed my phone and I had to replace it. Never again.

NeedANewPhone1 · 02/10/2023 13:46

I don't have a bra purse but I like the idea.

I never carry a handbag either - can't be bothered with them. I use pockets (and avoid clothes with no/inadequate pockets). If I need to carry more stuff I use a small rucksack

jlpth · 02/10/2023 13:46

I have seen people do this, but I don't bother wearing a bra so I don't do it. I guess there is an optimum size/shape/type of bra that make this viable for some people. I have tiny boobs and stacking a key, card and bag there would look super weird!

Oysterbabe · 02/10/2023 13:46

No, that's pretty gross. I have a small bag and pockets.

nocoolnamesleft · 02/10/2023 13:46

I've seen shops with signs stating they will not accept payment that has come out of underwear. Seems fair.

ThePoshUns · 02/10/2023 13:47

That's so gross.
Poor shop workers who have to handle cash and cards that have been stored in someone's sweaty bra.

NeedANewPhone1 · 02/10/2023 13:48

Don't keys poke your boobs though? A card/money makes sense to me but keys/phone sounds uncomfortable.

WTAF?

Worddance · 02/10/2023 13:48

You don't have a bra pocket, you just have a bra. It must be terribly loose on you to accommodate so much stuff.

EdinaMonsoon · 02/10/2023 13:51

A friend of mine does this. Stores her phone in there and sometimes her card/purse. I think it's utterly gross. I like to think of myself as a clean person but I would be mortified to hand over anything fished out of my bra to another person. Foul.

gloriawasright · 02/10/2023 13:52

I know of quite a few women ( myself included) who carried their phone in their bras.
Since being diagnosed with breast cancer, not one of us do it any more.
This is not based on science or proven theory. But none of us will take that risk again .

Good lord. If that's true (and I have no reason to doubt you), I despair. What on earth is going on that people deem it acceptable? And that a store has to resort to making this kind of statement?!

vapesareforsnakes · 02/10/2023 13:53

Absolutely foul to hand over anything that was in your bra to another person to handle. Such a rude thing to do.

CoraLovesMashedPotato · 02/10/2023 13:53

My card is contactless...

CoraLovesMashedPotato · 02/10/2023 13:53

My card is contactless...

as are most cards but there are occasions where someone else will need to handle it (if the machine is playing up etc). Sorry but it is really gross.

TrainTrooper · 02/10/2023 13:56

Its grim. Sweaty warm coins, or slidy sweaty notes are just utterly foul to handle. You think I am rude for reaching for the sanitiser after serving you? I think you're rude for handing me sweaty items. Foul.

EaudeJavel · 02/10/2023 13:56

Sounds revolting. Bra purse, sock purse, no, just no.

I have a bag. As I have young children, I have very big bags anyway, I don't even like putting my phone or keys in my back pocket. But bra purse? no.

Hufflepods · 02/10/2023 13:56

This is grim, no one wants to see you fish anything out of your underwear.

CoraLovesMashedPotato · 02/10/2023 13:56

Why would a person need to handle my card if the machine is playing up? "Ok, take it out, pop it in again, see if that works"

I'm not handing them to anyone?

BarbaraofSeville · 02/10/2023 13:57

I think in desperation I've sometimes kept a single key in there (gone out for a run and found that I don't have any pockets) but surely 'phone, house keys, bank card and a poo bag' is a bit ridiculous.

Shock Reminds me of the time at the beginning of the pandemic when the local Co-op had a sign up instructing customers not to hold money and loyalty cards in their mouths before handing them to the cashier Envy << not envy.

Meloncocomelon · 02/10/2023 13:58

It's not just you but it is gross.

No-one wants to touch something that was in someone else's underwear unless they're in a sexual relationship.

Use a handbag or a bum-bag or a file you keep cards in, it's not hard.

Bwessed · 02/10/2023 13:58

That is so grim and cringy.

You stand in front of someone and stick your hand in your bra to fish out your sweaty bank card? Seriously?
