To intensely dislike Keir Starmer

1000 replies

LemonyTicket · 27/09/2023 00:42

I can't stand Tories.
The current Tories are the worst

But I still intensely dislike Keir Starmer and will probably vote Green.

I find him phony, with no vision, like a terrible 6th form prefect. And to be honest his whole front bench are dreadful. Wes Streeting nauseates me.

Is it just me?

Alternative suggestions for prime minister:

Kathy Burke
My ex boss
Bernie Sanders (not allowed sadly)
Any of the guys from Queer eye (see above)
Lord Grantham (fictional admittedly)
Danny Dyer
Ian McKellen
Marcus Rashford
The fit one from Duran Duran
Rachel Weiss

I could go on all day....

We definitely need more male Prime Ministers, after all...

He got there eventually

How will he provide single sex spaces?

And yet.. he thinks we have penises.

Could you trust ANY leader that clearly does not know what a woman is???

kirinm · 27/09/2023 08:06

I believe he wants a fairer country. I also don't think he'll be as corrupt as our more recent leaders.

I think labour are always in a difficult position because the media are against them and so labour are terrified to say anything or propose policies that might upset some of the Tory voters he will need to win.

I don't for a second think a labour government will be anything like the last 13 year's governments.

“You can’t get over him working with Corbyn, the then leader of his party, and whom he has all but chucked under a bendy bus since?

But you can get over the trashing of our economy, dismantling of the NHS, cost of living crisis set against horrific cuts in benefits, profligate waste of billions of tax payer’s money and slashing of our commitments to green policies?”

The Tories have literally sold the country out from under us over the last 45 years, and most voters have applauded it as long as the Tory tabloids continue to throw up a new hate group (single mothers, working class benefit cheats, immigrants, woke Labour voters, environmental activists) every few years.

Well said.

But this is a choice been a potential harm (your, IMO unfounded, fear over Labour trans policy) and an actual harm (the systematic fucking over of women by the extant government of Tories)

THE TORIES VOTED AGAINST A LABOUR AMENDMENT TO MAKE MISOGYNY A HATE CRIME. if that’s not showing their true colours when it comes to protecting women, I don’t know what is.

THE TORIES VOTED AGAINST A LABOUR AMENDMENT TO MAKE MISOGYNY A HATE CRIME.

Have you looked at what it involves? It includes gender for the first time

If you misgender someone are you sure it won’t be a crime

kirinm · 27/09/2023 08:08

BeenThereDoneThat101 · 27/09/2023 04:38

There isn’t a leader among them. The only thing that labour have going for them is that they’re not the tories, and that’s really not enough.

I also think we need to be careful what we wish for. I have never and will never vote Tory, but labour are already hinting at cutting disability benefits further, labour are the creators and supporters of the ULEZ in the south east, which incidentally has nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with making money.

They are very vague about any other policies, so we have no idea what they’re about to throw into the mix.

The reality is that in order to be in politics you have to lack integrity. And anyone who doesn’t just won’t make it.

ULEZ was created by Boris Johnson.

No chance here. Despite his late to the party weak adult female utterance which includes penises

Upsizer · 27/09/2023 08:08

Lastchancechica · 27/09/2023 07:53

You are silent!!!

You are now deflecting responsibility. Nothing to do with councils and policy writing elsewhere. The laws especially around gender etc are made by the government.

Starmer can’t even identify a woman so how on gods holy earth can we expect him to represent 51% of us????

He can’t. He is fully locked in to the trans movement lock, stock and barrel.

Can you just tell me what law to protect biological women you think the Tories have amended or put in place? The Equality Act provides enough protection for women’s spaces.

I was interviewed about this subject last week as I’m involved with a refuge service (or what is left of it, after the Tories have largely removed all funding). I explained the issue has literally never come up. We are a single sex service for women and there are enough exemptions in the Act to ensure we remain so.

You can keep complaining about inequality in sports, refuges, women’s services and the high street until the Tories have decimated or starved funding from all these things and there is nothing left. Is that better for women?

Lastchancechica · 27/09/2023 08:10

When all is said and done Labour still carry the same misogynistic agenda they always did.

Why have they never had a female leader?
Where is the diversity?

They are a bunch of hypocrites with some green sound bites and very little else living in the dark ages in reality.

To add the thing that upset you includes protecting men.

Likely at the cost to women as we will lose clear speech

"ULEZ was created by Boris Johnson."

Yes, it was Tory Johnson who bought in Ulez.

But, Sadiq Khan, Labour mayor, has found another little cash cow.🙄. I will vote Labour at the GE, but I won't be voting Labour, for the May Mayoral election.

The plan is for the Blackwall and the Silvertown tunnels to both be tolled from 2025.

I choose to prioritise. Everyone, male and female, is at risk from public buildings collapsing on them due to lack of planned maintenance and replacement. The school rebuilding programme was literally the first thing that Cameron and Osborne cancelled on arriving in office. It was a highly dysfunctional programme that desperately needed sorting out, but it was allocated funding, and they just killed it instead. They cut local authority funding by 40%. Forty fucking per cent. Once again we've got a country full of shiny enormous new cars stuck in roadwork traffic jams on roads that are falling to pieces. Private affluence for some, public squalor for all of us.

I believe we need a government that engages with the stuff that needs doing and paying for with taxes. Beyond that, it's up to us to campaign for the individual policies that matter to us, whoever is in power.

I completely agree.

The bbc is a walking and talking tax payer funded labour loudspeaker. It couldn’t be more left wing if it tried. Ditto sky news!

In the process of atm

We’re tied to international law so it’s not going to be fast.

I can’t see many other western countries even trying so we could be an outlier which would be brilliant.

PureAmazonian · 27/09/2023 08:16

Why do some people not understand that when you vote green you're basically voting for the Tories. You have to vote tactically.

Don't want the Tories in? Vote Labour.

Lastchancechica · 27/09/2023 08:17

Clafoutie · 27/09/2023 08:11

I completely agree.

The school rebuilding projects were cancelled because labour had driven the country over an economic cliff in 2008 and we were in deep recession!!

I agree labours intention is to drive out every motorist with taxation. You call it private affluence I call it getting to work.

Highandlows · 27/09/2023 08:18

Sadiq Khan is a good example of how things would pan out with Labour.

Notonthestairs · 27/09/2023 08:18

I'm quite angry too.

Angry at the state of education and SN education, public transport, the NHS, the justice system (from police, courts and prisons), at the loss of our teachers and medics, at the state of the Home Office and at the vast quantities of money thrown at mates or family members of politicians during covid (they haven't even withdrawn the whip from Michelle Mone), at the lies told during Partygate - all of which the current Cabinet repeated, and with the various groups within the Conservative Party constantly vying for leadership control.

Pretty cross about Truss economic plan hiking my mortgage rate at such a rapid rate too but that on its own wouldn't be enough to swing my vote.

The Conservatives have had 13 years. Much of the current cabinet have been in place for the last 5 years. Moderates have been shoved out of the party. That's enough to show me what they are capable of.

I'm sure I'll moan about Labour when they get in but frankly bring it on.

The BBC is not a Labour loudspeaker nor are BBC news and Sky news on the extreme left-wing. That's completely ridiculous. What programmes are you even talking about? When the Beeb refuse to put royal events on TV or something, get back to me.

emmylousings · 27/09/2023 08:20

Goodornot · 27/09/2023 01:03

Wow. You don't care he doesn't respect females as a sex?

Given all the problems we have, its really not the most important issue, and if you actually stop to think about it, it has very little effect on your life.

Every single day we hear endless streams of Labour consciousness. Given the content I would say it’s counter productive but everyone knows the BBC is thoroughly left wing, and they have always been.
