To intensely dislike Keir Starmer

1000 replies

LemonyTicket · 27/09/2023 00:42

I can't stand Tories.
The current Tories are the worst

But I still intensely dislike Keir Starmer and will probably vote Green.

I find him phony, with no vision, like a terrible 6th form prefect. And to be honest his whole front bench are dreadful. Wes Streeting nauseates me.

Is it just me?

You think making society fair by making businesses pay tax is vindictive @EasternStandard? The answer for SEN kids is painfully easy - provide the level of support they need by the state. The scandal here is that they need to be educated in the private sector at all.

EasternStandard · 28/09/2023 13:37

Someone posting ha you must be someone who has to move their dc is low

So much wanting to see others get their comeuppance

As I said eugh.

bombastix · 28/09/2023 13:38

@EasternStandard - zero problem with it. I was privately educated and so too are my children.

Private education is privileged. Why should it not be subject to tax? Vindictive is wrong. Its old Labour policy; not surprised by it. It you are sending your children to private school it's s choice. Like any other service, you can make choices if you can. But moaning that you cannot afford it is ridiculous.

EasternStandard · 28/09/2023 13:40

I have criticisms of Blair (HP blowing out spending etc) but at least he avoided driving at base emotions

Maybe it’s all we’ve got left when there’s minimal funding for improvement

IClaudine · 28/09/2023 13:42

Highandlows · 28/09/2023 12:48

Ultra right wing. Ridiculous and clueless. Thank god the majority are not this deluded.

This type of comment horrifies the electorate. People should travel a bit more and read about the international current issues and other countries views on them .

Edited

Deluded? I don't think so. As pp said Braverman is angling to take over. She is very, very right wing, to the extent that lots of less right wing Tory voters abhor her cruelty.

algasport · 28/09/2023 13:50

And yet another u turn by KS on private schools.
I wonder why he's ditching this policy...

Because it’s much easier to just make them pay VAT like every other business.

The fact that Keir Starmer will state that some women have a penis tells me that he is thrall to a homophobic, misogynist, regressive ideology. He'd bluster like a fish that had been slapped in the face if you said he was the same as Andrew Tate. But Andrew Tate (and his ilk) and trans ideology both teach disrespect for women's boundaries and independent existence. Starmer stands for something that is every bit as harmful as Tate and as such there's no chance I'll vote for him.

The fact he has never supported Rosie Duffield or defended her from aggressive people both within his own party and the wider population for standing up for women's rights also tells me everything.

If all people can do is bleat 'transphobic!' for believing that a woman is an adult human female you need to develop some critical thinking skills. 'Transphobic' is like saying I'm 'scientologyphobic' for not believing in that cult either.

Trans ideology is riven through with misogyny and directly conflicts with women's rights to sport, single sex spaces and any awards/ bursaries designed to level the playing field. If Keir Starmer genuinely cared, he'd advocate for third spaces, for 'open'/ female sports categories. He'd say it's not 'hate' to label a transwoman (or transman) as someone who identified as the opposite sex and deserved to not be discriminated against for doing so. He'd argue that as the most vulnerable sex worldwide women deserved legal protections around single sex provisions in education, health care, prisons and rape counselling centres. He wouldn't tie himself in semantic knots, fawning over organisations that promote the destruction of boundaries designed to protect women and girls.

Women and girls these days feel actual shame calling themselves women, for taking pride in anything rooted in the experience of being female. Fuck you Keir Starmer for standing on the side against women.

V good point about Rosie Duffield. Especially as a lot of her campaigning for women is based on her own experience of DV.

Don’t hold your breath. Obviously Duffield doesn’t agree as she continues to be a Labour MP. Presumably things have changed a lot since 2019 when Corbyn still led the party.

Every comment on this thread from you seems to be tearing down other women or mocking any woman who doesn’t agree with you with no reasonable argument. I don’t understand why.

Dufffield has been actively campaigning as an MP should to make changes and sticking up for herself against the misogynists in her party - Google Russel-Moyle who bullied her relentlessly including trying to humiliate her during parliament!

Do we really want women to quit every time a man throws her under a bus or to stay and fight for other women? Should we just stay home everytime a man in an institution or job we care about leaves us in danger or actively bullies us? There’d be no women left in the workplace.

Oh come on. Women and girls aren’t allowed to call themselves these things in case it’s offensive or exclusionary. Where’s the word women or girls on period packaging? Why are these words removed and ‘menstruators’, cervix-owners, ‘people who bleed’ used in healthcare etc instead?

Women can’t give birth anymore - it’s ‘birthing bodies’. The Lancet even used the term ‘bodies with a vagina’ for women recently. We don’t breastfeed, we ‘chestfeed’. There are no ‘surrogate mothers’ only ‘gestational carriers’ or ‘surrogates’.

Women aren’t allowed to refer to themselves as adult human females because this is ‘hate speech’. So the word woman now means… what? It ceases to have actual meaning. Does this happen to men? Does ANY of this shit happen in reverse? Does prostate cancer literature carefully remove the words ‘man/ men’?

If women aren’t allowed to define ourselves accurately - and let’s be clear there have been violent rallies against women carrying banners that say ‘woman: adult human female’- you’re telling me this doesn’t lead to a sense of fear/ shame around using those words?

pointythings · 28/09/2023 14:30

@IdleAnimations asking for evidence in support of wild statements does not equate to tearing anyone down.

Really? I don’t tear down or mock other women. That’s an entirely unjustified personal attack on the basis that you disagree with me. Of course if you can find some examples to back up your assertion …

pointythings · 28/09/2023 14:36

I call myself woman and female every day. So does my DD1. Nobody has said a damn thing about it. And yes, there have been loud TRA/MRA rallies. They're just as awful as the transportation that us also everywhere. Both sides are toxic.

BIossomtoes · 28/09/2023 14:38

Both sides are toxic.

Most definitely.

Leaflet from tampax. Uses the word women.

You’re right there is a push for language change by TRAs

Both sides are toxic.

How are women wanting single sex spaces, no male bodies in female sports and clear language ‘toxic’?

But if you described yourself as ‘an adult human female’ you would get a tsk from Keir Starmer. Your use of the word ‘woman’ ultimately has qualifiers.

The people you and your DD use the word woman around probably agree with your understanding of what a woman is. But come up against a situation where someone doesn’t, then well, Keir Starmer agrees with them. The man potentially a Prime Minister doesn’t agree with your right to define yourself accurately as a woman.

’Both sides’. Yeah you’re right women often picket Trans rights rallies. They often punch people in the head at rallies, fracturing their skulls. They get out megaphones shouting out the feminist equivalent to ‘suck my girl dick.’ They crowd around trans rights activists covered with face masks and dressed in all black clothes.

Women in the public sphere get abused or cancelled for saying things that TRA disagree with (JKR an obvious example but Roisin Murphy recently faced the same).

But yeah, public figures speaking in support of extreme trans ideology often face the same from women and feminists. You’re right. Like… hmmm.

pointythings · 28/09/2023 14:58

@EasternStandard they are toxic because they are incapable of being moderate. Just like the TRAs. And actual transgender people are caught in the middle and not heard by anyone. TRAs want them to be aggressive about who they are. Extremists on the other side want them to pretend they don't exist. Nobody wins.

Meanwhile have you looked at the links provided uptrend, which make your catastrophising look like the nonsense it is?

pointythings · 28/09/2023 15:02

@YouSetTheTone nope, I move in very mixed circles. Including trans people and non binary people. None of them give a shit about me saying I am a woman. Because they aren't extremists. Your statement about Keir Starmer's hypothetical response were I to say 'I'm a woman ' to him is laughable.

The things I have listed are not extreme

Female sports for females only and single sex spaces is nowhere near extreme. If you are ok with men in either that is your choice but many women do not agree with you.

They are neither toxic nor extreme to want fairness, safeguarding, dignity and privacy

We do not use violence and threats as men do, We just say no. That is not toxic.

Btw it’s not about not existing.
