Rishi has absolutely lost it, hasn't he?

What with his random shite this week about scrapping a non-existent meat tax and an imaginary 7 bins, actually scrapping his own home insulation workforce that was only set up a few months ago, scrapping any useful bits of HS2 and now scrapping A-levels (which is so far removed from what is actually possible in schools right now that it's not even funny), what the fuck is he on?

He's just flailing around madly scrapping everything in case someone, somewhere might vote Tory over it.

And he was supposed to be the sensible replacement to Liz Truss.

Brown, Corbyn and Starmer never crack a smile and, to be blunt, are dull as dishwater

Socialists always look miserable.

Really?

Rishi has absolutely lost it, hasn't he?

It might be fairer to Sunak to say that his excellent technocratic skills would probably have been useful in another era.

But he doesn't have anything. No loyal party, no money, and no time. So he's over.

And no decency, honesty or integrity.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/10/2023 22:54

Ah I see Clavinova has come on shift -

Clavinova · 06/10/2023 22:56

Correction - socialists usually look miserable.

As an aside - I noticed that SerendipityJane's YouTube blogger has penned the name Maximilien Robespierre. If Starmer rejoins the single market will we have to import more bedbugs from France?

Searchingforthelight · 06/10/2023 23:04

I’ve not read the whole thread, just the first and last pages

Don’t forget Rishi is also scrapping doctors from the NHS (and replacing them with physician’s assistants)

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/10/2023 23:30

He's over. The only question now is: do the Tories get rid of him before or after the GE?

If they want to be demolished, they'll keep him. If they want to get enough seats to be the primary opposition, they need to ditch him.

Peterpiperspickledpepper · 06/10/2023 23:37

What’s with the constant attempt at political point scoring @Clavinova
Socialists never smile.
Labour started HS2 (agreed but so what).
Socialist French bed bugs aren’t as good as British ones.
If it wasn’t so desperate and pointless it would be funny.

now with the 25bn they ve wasted on cancelling HS2, the Chilterns etc have been devastated for no good reason

Have you ever supported HS2? It was Labour's idea in the first place.

Edited

Labour’s idea, executed and managed by the Tories

Well he's delivered on pushing out eco initiatives to align with the rest of Europe and avoided penalising the poorest. Tick.

He's made it clear what a women is. Tick.

Can he deliver on this. Jury is out.

He's cut labours lead in one opinion poll to 10 points- Cameron won a majority when he was 8:9 pints behind Miliband.

I don't know who I'll vote for in the next election.

Rishi is a poor option.

But Starmer - major flip flop - some women have a penis .... seriously???

One poll is pretty meaningless when he’s at least 20 points behind in all the others. And Cameron didn’t have a 13 year trail of disaster in his wake.

Highest taxes for 70 years. ☑️
Largest deficits on record. ☑️
Highest NHS waiting lists ever. ☑️
Inflation in double figures. ☑️
GP and NHS dental appointments like goldust ☑️
Schools and hospitals falling down ☑️

There are ticks in lots more undesirable boxes.

Who do they have that'd put them in non-demolished territory? Genuine question. I can't think of anyone. They seem out of options.

Whereforartthoudave · 07/10/2023 07:26

Brown etc Never cracked a smile? I don’t want bloody smiley politicians I competent decision makers and leaders who are going to sort out this mess, worry about climate change, worry about the health of its people, worry about education for everyone, worry about looking after our aging population.

there’s not actually a lot to smile about, is there?

Is there any evidence that he has excellent technocratic skills.

I note in passing that Eat out to Spread covid was lambasted at the enquiry yesterday.

Spot on.

That was all their conference was about. Chucking out enough policies or scrapping others (whether they existed or not) in order to stop letters of no confidence going in.

Followed by a parade of increasingly bizarre leadership pitches.

I think you have mistyped your last line by mistake.

But Sunak- major flip flop surely given the number of policies he announced the scrapping of last week?

Is it a ‘blunder’ or is it just another example of our privately educated government with their privately educated children not given a shiny shit about everyone else, and trying to ‘save’ money?

Weak Clav, very weak.... come on must do better, the Tories have run with HS2 for 13 years... 13 whole years but its apparently Labours fault... pathetic.

Very pleased Sunak has flip flopped on the meat taxes, the 7 sin bins tax and the hated curfew to shop tax.....
